Had the unfortunate pleasure of crash testing the hoodie going over my bars at around 40 or 45 mph. Held up very well. Broke a couple bones but that's cause I stuck my hands out instinctively. Only had one small spot of road rash that was more of a scratch than actual road rash on my stomach. Crash testing aside, it is (or was) a very comfortable hoody. I'm a small dude so the small fit like a glove, worked well with the gauntlet gloves I had. It's very breathable and only got hot sitting still (duh). I had the straight black version. Wearing a tank top underneath during the summer heat gives you the most airflow and you won't feel like you're dying constantly. During colder weather, underlayers are of course your best friend. It's thick enough to provide a little bit of heat retention but truth be told, other jackets are much better for colder rides. Using this one anywhere above 70 or 75° F, it'll be your best friend. Everyone's body is different so the threshold will be different so keep that in mind. Overall, highly recommend and will definitely be getting another soon as I can. Only thing I could knock against it would be the torso being ever so slightly too small for my own body. It had a tendency to slide up my back over the course of longer rides on my sport bike. However that won't be the case for absolutely everyone so, y'know.

great jacket, great fit. Large in the shoulders so there is no binding when riding, However it does run almost a full size smaller (so order 1 size larger than normal). While riding a full fairing bike, this jacket is comfortable from about 50-55 to about 85 degrees. very versatile and great quality. I have the pull over hoodie from Alpine starts as well and it is just as good.

The hoody fits great. The elbow pads sit on the elbow and don't rotate. The shoulder pads stay in place and do not restrict movement. I added the alpine stars back pad which fits great and down not dig in while wearing a pack. Not only is it a piece of protective layer on the bike but also looks nice wearing it out and about. It has an in side breast zip pocket along with a right inner zipper pocket for keys. The hood is removable which is nice during those windy rides.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice hoodie. Medium fits me like it should. Good amount of pockets and still a good functioning, all-around hoodie even if not wearing it to ride. Reason why I gave it 3 stars is I can't understand how a motorcycling apparel company is going to make a hoodie with no way to stow the draw strings. Anyone that's worn a hoodie while riding knows you have to deal with those strings banging against your helmet if you have no way to hold them down. You can remove the hood on this hoodie which takes the strings with it but if you leave it on, you have to deal with them. You can kinda tuck them inside or in the first button pocket but after a while they find their way out.
The quality of material is what you'd expect from A*s, but I've ordered both an XL and 2XL, and the jacket is too short on both, with the 2XL only expanding circumferentially. I'm 6' 3, with an athletic build, and while the fit on the sleeves, shoulders, and waist are great, the design of the jacket is as others have mentioned - too short. This is a huge design issue bc when you are in a riding position, the jacket actually lifts up vs when you're just standing there upright. How was this overlooked when it's a huge part of determining if a riding jacket will work?
Important to note this runs small go 1-2 sizes up. I'm 5'8" 220 stocky guy 36 waist line bigger in the upper back chest and shoulder areas. The 3XL fits me perfectly. This hoodie is also very breathable as I rode with it today in perfect Hawaii 80 degree weather and didn't get too hot. I bought a back insert so this hoodie gives me peace of mind that if I go down I will have protection between me and the road. And lastly, it looks cool as hell.
I really like this product. Super comfortable and fits very well. I also purchased the rear back insert, does not impact comfort at all, and makes it slightly more safe.My only note is that this breathes exceptionally well. If it is below 65 degrees while wearing this, I am cold. This is to be used on hot summer days only.I purchased an XXL, I am 6'4" 240lbs. Fits perfect.
I purchased my XL black and gray Alpinestars hoodie from Get Geared a few weeks ago & I've been using it daily ever since. The fit is true to size! The elasticated hem is fantastic! Especially if you've got a bit of a belly. The arms are just the right length - I hate it when they're too long, these are perfect..I'm 6ft tall & weigh 14.5 stone with a bit of a belly..I am 56 afterall. One thing I really like about this hoodie are the cord pulls, they stay in place after you've pulled them tight to prevent flapping about at speed! But you'll have to tie them into a bow or your neck gets whipped quite bad! It's lovely & cozy on & it keeps the wind out when done up fully. I haven't burst into a sweat yet with it on, so I guess the breathable fabric works well too.I ... MoreI purchased my XL black and gray Alpinestars hoodie from Get Geared a few weeks ago & I've been using it daily ever since. The fit is true to size! The elasticated hem is fantastic! I haven't burst into a sweat yet with it on, so I guess the breathable fabric works well too.I tested it in a 20 minute shower on the Blade & it didn't leak at all.The pockets are also perfectly positioned, I love the handy little pocket inside the front zip/I put my credit card in here. All in all its probably the best lightweight jacket I've ever had for use on the road. It's nice enough to wear out casually & I'm really pleased I bought it, infact I'm thinking of buying another incase I don't find anything else as nice as this is in the future.I rarely wear my other biker jackets now - although that will change when we get into the colder winter weather - but even then it will be used on short journeys...go buy one! Because you'll kick yourself later if you don't.The service I received from GG was second to none - they'll be seeing more of me in future.
Bought this as a beggining of season present for my partner. He absolutely loved it and hasn't stopped wearing it. He looks good while still giving me more peace of mind becuase of the armour. Much safer than a regular hoodie while still looking stylish. Absolutely recommend, was true to size and excellent quality. 10/10.
The torso length is short for a large, but perfect for me! No short sizing necessary! at 5' 9" the large is a good length to not bunch up in riding position, the hoody is super soft and comfy, runs large in the arms and chest for a casual baggy fit, but not so loose the armor is out of place, its a thick but soft warm hoody, the bands on the cuffs keep it snug around my glove to keep the wind out, the armor is super soft, I love the second zipper pocket inside the handwarmer pocket, perfect. I can hang out all day in the garage in this.
