Fit is good but maybe better if longer legged than 30/31 inch leg but have not used on my bike yet. I bought these to go with an Atem v4 black, grey, white and although the trousers do not have any grey they look fab paired.

A* Versatile Race Suit
8 September 2018

Ever since I bought into the Tech-Air airbag system, the A* accompanying pieces make sense for me. First thing I'd say is DON'T size up. I am 6'0" and 175-lbs. and wear all my non-Tech-Air A* stuff in size LARGE (42 U.S. / 52 European) and this is no exception, even with the Tech-Air race vest installed. It's a burly piece of kit all onto itself. The race grade leather, all the CE protection at those body parts most likely to make contact in a crash (except for the back protector, which is sold separately), but again, I use the Tech-Air race vest so no back protector at all is needed. I really think A* did a great job to keep it under $1K.I was really waiting for this bad boy 2-piece suit because I was going to buy an A* leather jacket anyway and this sort of ... MoreEver since I bought into the Tech-Air airbag system, the A* accompanying pieces make sense for me. I really think A* did a great job to keep it under $1K.I was really waiting for this bad boy 2-piece suit because I was going to buy an A* leather jacket anyway and this sort of kills two birds with one stone. On those days I just want to don a leather jacket, I just unzip it from the pants and wear it as a separate piece. The race hump makes it a bit less casual, but unless I was all out going for the hipster look, any piece of motorcycle gear is going to look a bit "off" when I am off the bike, and the hump isn't all that more intrusive.I've ridden with it a few times now and with the Tech-Air race vest installed, it is really confidence inspiring. Yep, let's by all means do some knee drags and elbow slides on the street. But in seriousness, great piece for the track, which is very addictive, and can be used as a one piece and separates, on the street. The quality is definitely A* and it's a good looking piece. Good job A* for keep introducing new kit for the Tech-Air system ... something other systems just can't seem to match. It's expensive, but so are hospital and funeral bills. This is the ultimate in function, style, and safety. What more can you ask of motorcycle gear?! Bravo A*!!!

Fits spot on - comfortable quality.
9 October 2019

I just got this suit today along with the Nucleon KR1-i back protector. This is my first full suit. The quality seems top notch - thick race leather, stretch panels in all the right places, and the connector zip is massive. The nucleon fits perfectly once you find the pocket. (I recommend removing the tech connector from its rubber grommet sticking through the mesh, and stuffing it along side the protector to get rid of any chafing on your back)I have to say, I am glad I read the other reviews, as I was going to go a size larger, but am quite happy that I went with my measurements.Do *not* go by your weight when you purchase this suit. I feel that is immaterial to the fit. Read the Alpinestars fit guide, and measure yourself for a perfect fit.I am 6'1 200 lbs, but wear a perfect size 42 dress suit, and wear all euro 52 jackets size 34 vanity sized pants. In inches, I have a size 41 chest, 36 (real) waist, 24 thighs, 33 inseam. The size 52 suit fits as if it was custom made for me.Once zipped together, its tight. Its a bit difficult to stand up straight - and I cant put my hands above my head. However, it was not very difficult to zip into, and i can reach my controls perfectly, and have no issues breathing or feeling restricted at all.. After wearing this for a few hours, I am certain it will mold itself to my body and be even more comfortable. The back-protector seemed to only change fitment a little. Do yourself a favor: Measure yourself and buy accordingly!

My first race suit
20 April 2021

I booked my very first track day and decided to invest into race suit with good protection. Looked into bunch of options and decided to stop on tech air line. My next milestone is A* tech air race vest.As i've mentioned this is my very first race suit and with $1k price i was a bit worried about sizing, overall fit and quality. So here is my measurements: (cm/in)Height: 184cm / 6'0''Weight: 85kg / 188 lbsChest: 103cm / 40.5''Waist: 87cm / 34.2''Hips: 102cm / 40.2''Inseam: 84cm / 33''Arm: 63cm / 24.8''Thigh: 59cm / 23.2''From the chart it seems that i'm in between 50 and 52, i decided to go with 52 to accommodate my height and i also have slightly wider shoulders so i wanted to make sure top will be comfortable and there is enough space for air vest ... MoreI booked my very first track day and decided to invest into race suit with good protection. This suite is a bit loose around my waist line and hips, but otherwise perfect fit.Once fully zipped, it's a bit restrictive, hard to reach above my head (the very first time i tried to wear helmet after suit), but otherwise seems to be good, i can walk, breathe get on my bike and on the bike i can reach/use all my controls.I'm riding yamaha mt 07 naked bike and it's more upright siting position and i'm not sure if it's impacting it, but for me the hip protectors a bit uncomfortable for first 5-10 mins of ride, they cut into my upper body.I only put about 200 miles so far at around 60-70F weather with only base layer under the suite. The air flow seems to be reasonable for jacket, but not much in the pants. with ~60F and 65+mph it was a bit chill. Will try to update this section after riding in 80-90F.Another thing to note, i was hopping, that i can wear pant and jacket separately, while this is try for jacket, it's not for pants... at least in my case, they are too wide in waist/hip area so nothing for them to hold on :)

My new favorite suit
14 December 2018

This is a first wear and ride impression from me, but in just one ride this is my new favorite suit.I own an original Dainese Laguna Seca 2-piece, and a number of 1 piece suits, including a recent Dainese Aero Evo. The Laguna Seca has been my default touring suit, and has held up really well and still works fine, no tears, no broken zippers, still looks good. I estimate I've had it for about 12 years, so that's saying something. But I felt it was time to get a newer touring 2-piece suit, and for me it came down to the latest Laguna Seca and this A-stars Mission. What steered me to the Mission were: Anthony's review, the Tech Air option, and the style. Now I'm pretty certain I made the right choice. So first Anthony's review. What steered me to the Mission were: Anthony's review, the Tech Air option, and the style. Now I'm pretty certain I made the right choice. So first Anthony's review. He did the 1-piece suit only, but it was clear that in his opinion this suit blew just about every other suit out of the water, regardless of price. Like if you wanted to pay up for kangaroo that would be one reason to not buy it, but otherwise? And at just a thousand bucks ($900 if you caught the 10% off sale) it's practically a steal.Regarding Tech Air, it's my intention to eventually get that insert. I was completely turned off to the Dainese D-Air system from all the negative reviews you can read about on Revzilla about getting it recharged. And Dainese doesn't even offer it in a 2-piece suit, just standalone jackets (yes I know you could buy pants for them) and full 1-piece.Next comes style, which is important to me. I got the white/black one, and it's really sharp in person. The little flashes of fluorescent red set it off perfectly, and the white vertical lines, shoulders, and lower legs look fantastic, especially with white boots. I don't know how other people feel, but there's something about the A-stars style that manages to stay butch even in their flashier models, whereas Dainese veers more into the "metrosexual" lane, IMO. Don't get me wrong, both have great Italian style and I'm still a fan of Dainese, but I wanted something a little different this time. Now there's the fit. I'm 5'10" and currently a tick or two over 190 lbs, and buy 36 waist pants. Let's just say it's not all muscle! Normally I'd buy a Euro 54, but I bought some Dainese mesh gear this past year that fit better in the 52, so I wanted to give that a try. When I first went to try on the Mission, my first impression was, Wow these legs are tight! Thoughts flashed of needing to send it back. But I kept pulling them up and they did go on. Then I noticed the waist was lower than I was used to on Dainese, which contributed to the feeling of it being small. But surprisingly it fastened at the waist with no problem, and the length was perfect when pulled all the way up to the crotch. Getting the leg zippers down just wasn't happening until I discovered the little calf relief zippers at the back. Open those and the legs zipped, and then the calf zippers closed right back up, like a magic trick. A little walk around and yes, these feel tight but I was keeping an open mind. The jacket gave a similar impression at first, but the sleeves were long enough, and fastening to the pants and zipping everything up was actually no problem, even without the big suck-in. The longer than Dainese jacket goes with the shorter waist height, for comfortable standing straight up. I wanted a snug fit in this suit and got it, but I was still worried about how it would feel on the bike. And this is all before the back protector went in. I also bought the A-stars Nucleon KR-1i insert, which is a pretty substantial piece. I eventually found the pocket for it and got it in correctly (and around the Tech Air wiring). As expected, this definitely cut down on the space and mobility of the jacket and I thought, "I really need to drop the holiday weight for this to be comfortable."But, today I took it out for what I thought would be just an around the block ride, *including* with the Nucleon insert, and it ended up feeling so good on the bike that I had to extend my ride even in the 50 degree temp. A couple of important things apply here. One is that the ample and relatively large body armor really does conform to you after it warms up. The other is that despite the sucked to your body feeling, you have to trust the stretch they build into the suit. A little resistance does not mean it won't go there, so things like getting the feet up on the pegs might seem a bit iffy at first, but after the first like 10 minutes including feet-down stops for traffic lights and so on, it just seemed normal. Just don't expect to be lifting your arms much over your head.In summary, where I was concerned the suit might be overly constrictive on the ride, it ended up just being like a comfortable hug the whole time, and I felt like I could happily ride all day in it. If not just live in it! That to me is just about perfect for what you want in a leather suit, and this one has everything going for it. It's not going back!
