The zipper pull broke after almost 3 months, on $600 boots. I emailed Alpine Stars & not a peep out of them. The local Cycle Gear store said there is nothing they can do. I've
spent around $2500 on Alpine Stars gear & I'm ready to paint my R10 helmet black. I'm so disappointed in these boots & Alpine Stars. Don't buy them.

Very disappointed. I forked over $600 for these boots thinking they'd be the safest in the event of a crash. I had one highside at about 60 on track, and landed on my right
foot. My fibula broke clean in half, and I am now out $600 (the boots were scratched all over even though I hardly slid) and down for the rest of the season. Could get boots
significantly cheaper that would offer the same mediocre protection. The Velcro on the zipper also broke within 2 days of use, allowing the zipper on the side of the boot to
constantly fall down (not the side that was injured). Overall pretty upset for what I paid.

Feels Like it's Worth the Money
8 July 2024
The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because I haven't worn them on the bike yet. The fit was true to size for me, and it feels like they would be very safe to ride in. However, I live in Florida, and it gets pretty hot in the boot really fast. I don't have a problem with my feet sweating, but I can tell if I had these on for a while, they would. The feeling of the boots on the lower part of my legs feels stiff/restricted, but not in a bad way. It feels like it would do a great job protecting the lower parts of my legs and feet. For any women looking to buy these boots, I wear a size 8 in women and the 40 fit perfectly for me. The only things for me are the zipper is hard to zip up at times and that the boots sorta look bulky, but not too bulky. Great top tier boot
21 July 2023
I initially had an issue where the zipper clasp on the left boot broke. For the first test fit indoors, I had the zipper all the way up, and everything secured. As I started walking a few steps, the zipper popped and upon further inspection, one of the teeth toward the top were bent and the clasp bent too. I was able to send them into Alpinestars for a free warranty repair(although I had to initial shipping). I suspect the stitching from factory was just a tad tighter on that side, as the right boot had no issues. If you have big calves and "smaller feet", this can make the boot a tad on the tighter side. I measured my feet and initially ordered a size 45 as my feet are wider than normal. I measured my feet and initially ordered a size 45 as my feet are wider than normal. While it fit great in most places, I had too much toe room and my ankle could wobble with thin or thick socks. I downsized to a 44 and the length is perfect, but it does take a little bit of effort to pull the zippers up in comparison (I didn't manhandle it when the zipper broke though lol). For reference in bald eagle sizes, I wear a 9.5w in Rocky Coyote Brown boots, and usually a 11.5-12 in street shoes with plenty of toeroom, but upsize due to width.Other than that, the boot has been great. The two boot design while awkward to put on and take off, provides confidence in protection. Took about two rides for them to break in and the non-venting model has not been a problem for me on 2hr street rides in 90*+ Arkansas weather. They aren't uncomfortable to walk short distances in. Just wobbly due to the heel and foot design.I purchased these boots back when they were $499 msrp(now $599) and was able to take advantage of a promo and RPM cash, bringing them down to the $370 mark, a deal I couldn't pass up.I would say they are a bit overkill for street use. Unless you also plan on tracking or just have the extra funds, go with the SMX 6 V2's. Other reviews stated they are more user friendly in terms of taking on/off and walking around while still offering good protection... Show more

Great track boot
30 October 2021
Note: Use the sizing chart on alpinestars website and actually measure your foot: your foot length should be in between the insole length and the comfort length listed on their chart. Other than dress shoes, pretty much all shoe sizes in the US are marked 1-2 sizes bigger than the actual size. All my casual shoes, hiking boots, sandals, etc. range from US 9.5-10.5 , but my dress shoes and European-made shoes are labeled size US 8/8.5 -- which is what my foot actual measures. This boot is meant to have a race fit; if you follow Revzilla's recommendation the boot will fit and be comfortable, but probably be too big. Do yourself a favor and take 5 minutes to put your foot on a piece of paper, draw lines, and measure so that you can get a proper fit on a $500 ... MoreNote: Use the sizing chart on alpinestars website and actually measure your foot: your foot length should be in between the insole length and the comfort length listed on their chart. This boot is meant to have a race fit; if you follow Revzilla's recommendation the boot will fit and be comfortable, but probably be too big. Do yourself a favor and take 5 minutes to put your foot on a piece of paper, draw lines, and measure so that you can get a proper fit on a $500 boot.Thoughts on the boot:- Extremely comfortable and lightweight considering how big they are- Inner bootie lacing system makes it really quick and easy to get a nice secure fit- Inner bootie has a ton of very hard protection all over the foot while somehow still feeling like I'm wearing comfy slippers- A bit on the narrow side by design to help stop movement. They loosened up after wearing them for about 45 minutes and are fine now. You may have to size up if you have particularly wide feet or they never ease up for you- A bit kludgy to walk in because of the raised heel and very stiff sole, but still manageable enough that you should be able to walk around the paddocks or food stops easily enough.- Inner bootie system makes this boot take a bit to put on. I personally wouldn't want to deal with putting these on, taking them off, and then putting them back together for storage unless at the track or planning on riding for 2 hours+ on the street. The SMX Plus may be a better option if you only want to own 1 pair of boots and having something quicker to deal with would suite your riding habits better.- Airflow is great- These are definitely ultra-premium and it's obvious even to people who aren't in-the-know- The red is more of of bright red-orange then it appears in the pictures. It doesn't match the darker red from some of my other Alpinestars gear. It doesn't really bother me and they look freaking sweet, but if you're trying to be matchy-matchy with other gear (or a Ducati) and different shades would annoy you, you should consider going with the all black color way.Overall, I am very satisfied with these boots. Treat yourself...your feet are worth it! If you crash and injure your foot/hands the wrong way, expect to run up an $8,000+ medical bill if you want your hands/feet to ever work the same again. Even if you have insurance, common deductibles are $5000 and maybe $2500 if you have really good insurance...so even though these don't make you indestructible, spending a couple $100 extra to get the best protection consumers can buy vs mid-tier seems like a pretty logical choice to me.... Injured my foot wearing these boots
2 September 2024
Not a bad boot overall but I was involved in a high side with them. My left foot was badly sprained and bruised while wearing these boots. I've also heard of someone else injuring their heel with these boots as well. Boots are a bit bulky when trying to operate shifter and brake but they are very comfortable.... Show more

Little tight but worth it for the protection

So background. In Dainese. I wear a 41 euro. Perfect fit. After reading reviews. I dropped it down to a 40 when I ordered them. They were TIGHT! But that being said. As i continue to wear them, they get more and more comfortable. To the point where I forget to take them off when I am home. I love my Dainese boots. But these boots just make you feel extra protected. Yes its a process to put them on but if you are riding in full gear? you are already use to that. They are a little stiff at first making the shifts take more effort. But they do break in.I got the white and red(orange floral?) ? they POP! If you want to be seen. Then that is the choice to make.... Show more

Previously had SMX 6?s and had to wear a 44, with these boots I got a 43 and they fit perfect. I normally wear a US 10/UK 9/EU 43/J 27.5. A* got the US sizing a bit wrong as the 43 shows a U.S. 9 which threw me off, but they are a J 27.5. I even considering trying a 42 but I know they would have been too narrow. I recommend measuring your foot length and referring to the Alpinestars sizing chart specific to these boots on their website (comfort sizing etc.). A lot of people I know seem to get shoes in general that are quite roomy (too big if you ask me). Motorcycle boots are not for posing and strutting through Starbucks; they should be tight to get the feeling when on the bike, and especially if you take them to the track; the last thing you need is a pair of clown ... MorePreviously had SMX 6?s and had to wear a 44, with these boots I got a 43 and they fit perfect.
