Good grip, good support, and good cushioning. There’s nothing particularly exciting about these; the Ego foam isn’t bouncy or pillowy like some newer foams in the running world, the upper isn’t anything special, but the fit is excellent. Like the Rivera from Altra, these run comically small lengthwise compared to the rest of the line. I ordered a full size larger than I wear in Lone Peaks, and they fit me perfectly. I use these for moderate trail runs and long hikes with the dog. The ride is too firm for my tastes for road running, but on dirt, grass, and gravel, they feel fine. Some Altra models haven’t had the best durability in recent years, but I hope these hold up.

I am cautiously optimistic that this the road to trail shoe I have been looking for. Definitely narrower than my beloved Lone Peaks but not so narrow as to be a hindrance. Not showing any signs of a blowout yet, which both these and the Timp are know for. Outside rubber is a bit softer than I like and I can see it wearing down on too much pavement. Cushioning is good. Not overdone so that the stack height feels unstable. I wouldn’t bomb a technical downhill in these but they would be a good choice for a long day.

I was surprised how comfortable the shoes are. They fit snug which you want for running shoes and they have a nice spring feel while walking and running. They look good and are of good quality. Consider to buy more in the future. I would recommend to family and friends.

This fit great right out of the box. Walking and running in the was comfortable. They have a nice spring to them with every step. The colors are good, not super vibrant which is my preference. The one downside I saw with these are that the front shape is very odd. Maybe it's a preference thing, but I found the front of them to be unnecessarily large and "club" like.
I tried the Altra Outroad 2 running shoes. I was very impressed with the style of this shoe. It was really eye catching and had very stylish color choices. The shoe compared nicely to my high end Nike running shoes. The Altra Outroad 2 had solid support on the instep and provided balance and stability on races up to 10 miles. I was impressed by the design that fit to my foot and limited the blisters I normally experienced on this length run. The shoe could have provided more arch support. I was overall very happy with this product
Shoes are very well made, light weight and excellent quality materials. The sole is made very well and would seem to last a long time. I love the color scheme as well, the only issue I had was the shoes were a bit too narrow and tight on the top of my foot. The length was perfect, just tight at the top of the shoes. Great brand non the less!
I love these shoes. They fit really well. I have a wider foot and these are great. Running in them is great too. On the road I have the right amount of cushion. On the trail they have a good grib. I wouldn't go hiking in them. But they are great on a small trail run.
I made the switch to wide toe box, zero drop, barefoot shoes about a year ago. Absolutely love the fit an function of that style shoe, with the exception of almost no cushioning under foot. Thus, I was very excited to be chosen to receive my first pair of Altra shoes thru BZZAGENT. Altra is known for their zero drop, wide toe box designs, but with added cushioning! The shoes I received are the Outroad 2 model. Unfortunately, they fit about a full size too small, and the wide toe box is almost nonexistent. The Outroad 2 is of the slimmest design offered by Altra. The slim fit takes away nearly all of the wideness of the toe box, almost back to a regular athletic shoe.Between the shoe being way too short, and no wide toe box, needless to say I was very disappointed. ... MoreI made the switch to wide toe box, zero drop, barefoot shoes about a year ago. Unwearable for me.Thus, I can only comment that the Outroad 2 runs quite small, and do not expect the usual wide toe box fit Altra is known for.Luckily, a local running shop let me trade the Outroad 2 for the Altra Lone Peak 7. True shoe bliss!
Most of my training is 40% road 60% trail. The first thing I noticed is how it felt, like a glove, and I am impressed with the cushioning. It feels like a cross between the Olympus and the earlier versions of the Lone Peak. My first run in them was an 8 miler and it performed well off-road also.
First off I have plantar fasciitis so shoes are very important to me. Comfort and arch especially in walking and running shoes. This is the first time buying this brand,I will say I will definitely be buying this brand again. They have many different styles and colors to choose from. You will not go wrong with this running shoe.
