The Superior is Altra’s minimalist trail running shoe that trims it all away in the name of speed. If you’re pushing for your fastest single-track laps, this is the right shoe. With a 21mm stack height, there’s just enough cushioning for a responsive, sensitive ride. Like previous Superiors, this updated version for 2021 includes a removable rock plate, which can be inserted under the insole for added protection. Further refinements include toughened material on the uppers to increase durability and a refactored tread pattern made from MaxTrac sticky rubber. The Superior also makes an awesome lightweight everyday shoe for around town or training in the gym.
