The toe box is also wider than standard shoes to give your toes room to splay for more comfort and better balance. The Altra Superior 6 is lightweight and agile whether you are toeing the start line of a trail race or going for a walk in the woods with your dog.

This is my 3rd pair. I always get size 7. They were so narrow and uncomfortable. They must have drastically changed the fitting. I like this brand because they run more wide or you were able to get them in wide. No more. I ordered in a size 7.5. Much wider, but don’t fit properly. Very disappointing.

I have the Escalante 3, the Solstice XT 2, and now the Superior 6. I love each of them for different reasons. These fit slightly smaller than the Escalante or the Solstice in the same size (I'm usually an 8 across the board). I can definitely run in them, but I might size up a half size especially if I were wearing thicker/merino wool socks. They are light and have excellent tread. The zero drop is perfect for an aspiring barefoot-shoe-wearer like me. They have a decent amount of cushion, but still allow for ground feel. I received mine in exchange for an honest review, but I would absolutely buy them again both for hiking and trail running.

I went on multiple walks in these shoes for around 3-4 miles. They really did feel light and comfy on my feet. I think the toe area looks really wide, but I had plenty of room for my toes. They were different than my other shoes because of their light feel. I had to get used to them.

I like the design/style and color. It fits decent but because of the shape it feels a bit snug in the toes. I wish there would be more cushion, they feel a bit stiff. For walking these are fine and comfortable but when I run in them it's a different story, not much padding ends up hurting my feet.
This product is a nice and light shoe for walking. I enjoy light bendable shoes versus heavy thicker shoes so I enjoyed that part. I shoe was too narrow for my feet and a bit smaller than my normal size. I had a pair of cotton ankle socks on and I had to take them off because the shoe was too tight. Compared to other shoes that a thin and light these were not my favorite. I would probably buy a different style of this shoe and size up in the future. Overall i give this shoe a 3.0 out of 5.
These are comfortable zero-drop runners that also look cute. I've worked out in them 3 days in a row, including running, rowing, jump rope, burpees etc and they've been super comfortable. There is no rubbing at the back heel portion, which allows me to wear whatever socks I want and greatly reduces the break-in time to none! Will purchase again
The Altra WOMEN'S SUPERIOR 6 shoe is my favorite! I have used it numerous times running and walking on pavement, gravel, dirt, as well as rugged and smooth terrain in the woods. The shoe is ultra-comfortable, lightweight, flexible, and breathable. The sole provided the perfect amount of grip when the ground was wet, uneven, or under less-than-ideal outdoor conditions. It is so stylish, I find myself wearing it everywhere. I have gotten countless complements from family, friends, and strangers alike. Five stars!
Been running ultras in Superiors since beta version days. 100% loved& recommended ++ over the yrs. Bought v5.0 (same size per norm); Is +++ wide and large. Foot slips+++ and seam cuts toe :( DNB
Altra has redesigned the original footbed and this model 6 fits much narrower through the forefoot. I’ve run in these for years, but am having forefoot pain and numbness with this new change. Unfortunately the “original” footbed is only available in the LonePeak. I strongly recommend comparing to the Altra website so you can see which footbed you are ordering.
I want it to like these shoes, I really did but they are just ok. I wore them twice but both times they just weren't comfortable. They made the sides of my feet hurt just a half mile into my walk/hike. I enjoy light bendable shoes versus heavy thicker shoes so I enjoyed that part. My shoe was a little tight in my toe box, my feet are between normal and wide width and I usually buy 9.5 W and so I went with 9.5 in these thinking these have wider toe box already, I would recommend going half a size up if you have wider feet. They were also very tight across my ankle/bridge. I had a pair of cotton ankle socks on and I had to take them off because the shoe was too tight.
