Amazon Echo Dot Smart Speaker with Clock & Alexa 5th Gen (Cloud Blue)

We were quite late to the Smart Speaker party, but are delighted with our Amazon Echo. The quality of the speaker is excellent - really great sound quality when listening to the radio, and creating a shopping list and finding out the weather forecast are very handy. It also looks really good - small but with lovely lights.

We now have 2 of these. One for each of our boys who are 7 & 10.They mainly use them to play music & do quizzes, but there are loads of fun & interesting things you can do with these things, like get weather updates, communicate between rooms, learn jokes, play audiobooks, etc you can have them playing different songs or link them to play the same song at the same time, so you have a surround sound thing going on in the house. We might even get a 3rd one to have in the kitchen at some point so as to better cover all corners of the house. The sound these small speakers put put is pretty impressive.We dont yet have any of our lights or blinds connected to these yet but we might do further down the track. Have recently upgraded from a much older echo dot. The sound quality is a lot better. Only issue is the charge/connect cable is quite loose and has to sit just right to not turn off. This might have just been an issue with this device and not an all round defect, hence the 4 star rating. The buttons on top are very sensitive as well, but will take some getting used to. Overall a great device! Would recommend.
