Bought for my grandmother for Christmas because she loves to read, check Facebook, and play games. She texted me 2 days after Christmas saying she was starting her 3rd book! She loves it so much and the fact that my sister and I haven’t had to go help her says a lot about how user friendly it is. Very happy with this purchase!

Brought as present not so impressed that packaging very bashed around on delivery, this is most likely down to post office but felt it could have been packed a little more robustly. I might be expecting too much bur thought the kindle fire may have come on further from the old model we had, but still seems a bit basic. Kindles apps are limited and it seems to struggle with the tic tok app. However for the price and as a basic light weight tablet it does the job.

This device has video ads on the Lock Screen. Amazon support is asking I pay $20 to remove the ads and claimed I had a chose to pay less for the product because I chose the ad-supported version. NOT TRUE - I was not given an option. Nowhere does it say this device has ads. Target does not have the option to pay more for an ad-free device as Amazon claims. Save your sanity and money and just don’t buy this product. The video ads are annoying and slow down the device. Amazon or Target should PUBLICIZE that this device has ads and it costs $20 to remove them. I have never been more dissatisfied with a target purchase. I blame Amazon for false (and illegal) advertising though.

Purchased two, one for each of my sons. One was fine but the other was still signed into the previous users accounts making it impossible to download apps, the battery life also drains completely in 1.5 hours! It clearly hasn’t been refurbished at all. Was offered a replacement if I sent it off to return it but this wasn’t an option as it would mean one child being without their tablet for a month. Really disappointed. Also the previous users email and details are still on the tablet
Loving this new tablet’s long battery life and quick page-loading. Not in love with the added size and weight over my older Fire 7. The 7 was definitely more convenient to pack for travel and easier and less tiring to hold. But I needed the extra storage space and the updated programming (plus rumors are that the 7 will be discontinued), so the 8 it is. Hopefully I’ll get used to the size and weight before long.
Performance is the okay but not great as it is basically the same as the 2022 model which i didn’t own. But it’s okay for YouTube and for casual use. The battery life is great lasting 2 days from 100% to 60%. Overall, good tablet but buy it on sale like I did.
The screen is good the color and size is nice. When viewing some movies it's good. For reading it's good. The bad thing is it drains the battery fast. You can watch at least one movie without having to charge it but that's about it. Even if you sideload Google Playstore you still cannot get a lot of things. For example,Mario Kart cannot be downloaded even if you sideload Google Playstore. You can't download Viki Rakuten and I'm sure there are many more apps that can't be downloaded. It has some games that are okay and the color is nice. Though you have to put it on the highest brightness setting in order to see movies and Youtube properly. I did sideload the Youtube because if you use the regular one that comes on the device you can't watch Youtube movies on it. ... MoreThe screen is good the color and size is nice. I did sideload the Youtube because if you use the regular one that comes on the device you can't watch Youtube movies on it. Only with the sideload Youtube you can. Reading on it is very comfortable, I have several bible apps on it for studying and it's good for it. I do have Amazon Kids subscription and my son borrows it for kids games and he seems to like it. The speakers and sound is not really good on some videos. Some websites take forever to load, like Best Buy. I would only suggest to buy it when it's on sale.
As a e-reader it's fine: right size and weight to use at bedtime. Anything else and 1) it's too small for a tablet and 2) Amazon, amazon everything is Amazon including the browser. Search for how to make pickles and you'll end up at Whole Foods, pure AMAZON!!!!!!!. Great as an e-reader but that's all it's good for
When I purchased this, I was told it was like my old one. It was not. It didn't wirelessly charge. By the time I opened it and found this out, it was a little more than 14 days after purchase. That is an absurdly short time in which to be able to return an unsatisfactory item. Bad policy!!
its worth the 50 bucks I paid for it for black friday price.wouldnt pay 100 bucks. it responds pretty well. Could do with less of the amazon bloat wear. it actually installed two more bloat apps last time I let the amazon appstore do an auto update. Cant take the ugly search bar off the home screen. Have to side load the play store and google chrome.
