My husband had a much older Kindle and had been looking to upgrade for a while. I decided to buy this for him as he reads so many books and has a lot of travelling to do over the next year. He is VERY happy with it, the self adjusting back light came in useful when he was reading outside in the bright sun and also when he was on a flight and the lights were turned off. This Kindle is waterproof but it's not a feature he has tested as yet. This Kindle does charge on the wireless stand we have for other products, it just needs placing on it at a slightly different angle but it works just fine. The battery life is impressive and thus far he has only charged it the once (only had it a few weeks). We haven't really got much else to say at this time as it is still so ... MoreMy husband had a much older Kindle and had been looking to upgrade for a while. Yes it's pricey, but it will last for years!

After years convincing myself, that I like the feel of a 'real' book, I purchased this GREAT Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. This product delivers in a big way, and all the descriptions about it's readability really are true. It can be read in the dark, or in bright sunlight. It really does look like looking at real paper! It is about the size of an average paperback, so feels that you are looking at a real book. This version has more LEDs than some, which I'm sure are worth the extra money. Though, I have seen some lesser models, and they also look good, too. Of course, you have the added benefit of storage, literally thousands of books can be held on it. Light and compact, for reading on the go, could you imagine carrying more than a few books...anywhere? I would, highly, recommend this product (or even versions of it), to anyone with a passion for reading. And possibly the need for convenient and portable literature. I feel that for those of us that remain 'old school' about reading, that this could be an addition to your collection that wouldn't go unused. In fact, it would be used to it's full advantage...I would also like to add, that the books for sale on Amazon can be 'amazingly' low priced, so you can start your library collection straight away (delivered straight to your Kindle).

Picked this one up for my wife and she absolutely loves it. She did get the Kindle Scribe but there ended up being something wrong with the screen so she returned it to Amazon. So I picked this Kindle instead and she loves this one a lot better. She says its a much better size for her. The Kindle Scribe was too big and the extra cost to write on the Scribe wasnt worth it she said. This one is perfect for her, it has a great battery life and the built in light is great for reading on it anytime of the day in any setting. The Signature edition also has more storage and wireless charging which is a nice upgrade as well. It was a gift for my daughter, and she is so happy to get this special edition. With this Kindle, reading is a luxurious experience. You will appreciate the comfort, technology and elegant design…1- The high-resolution screen is crisp, clear and perfect for long reading sessions. Adjustable lighting and automatic light sensor make reading comfortable in any environment, from sunlight to total darkness.2- Wireless charging makes it much more convenient.3- With 32 GB, that's huge!4- The advantage of “0” ads! No distractions.5- The matte screen minimizes reflections, so you will love it.6- Depending on the use, the battery can last for weeks.
