Best Amazon Kindle device yet! Trust me, it is well worth the money! I thought it was just a larger size Kindle and that I would not really use the Notebook features that much...WRONG! I use the Notebook feature all the time to take notes, mark-up PDFs, Journal, and oh yah..also read books! I love the fact that you can highlight passages within documents/books and bookmark important notes or pages and easily get back to them for reference, I also love that with the larger screen, it is way easier to shop the Kindle Bookstore and downloads are lightning fast with this device so no more waiting around. Love it! The user-interface is super intuitive and easy to use. Navigating around the different functions is a breeze. The perfect e notebook device. In comparison to other e notebooks this to me, is top tier. Especially comparing to the price of its competitors. The battery life is one of the most satisfying features. It’s also serves as a really good e-reader. Although, it’s a bit large at 10” it’s still lighter and more comfortable reading from as opposed to a typical tablet. It also accurately reflects handwriting without slippage of the hand. Speaking of which it’s does a perfect job of negating the hand on the device when writing. And the pen doesn’t need to charge like the iPad so it’s always ready. 32gb of internal storage is way more than needed when storing notes and books borrowed or purchased. If you manage to catch one on sale, DO NOT HESITATE! LOL

I added a few disadvantages just in case they are a deal breaker for someone, but in general I'm loving this device. Reading technical and fiction books on it is a true delight, anywhere, either in the bed or in the train or in the sofa. Using it in a stand is also quite comfortable. I own also an iPad pro and an Apple Pencil 2 and for me the Kindle Scribe is both better for handwriting and for reading. Less strain in the eyes and lighter. The only thing I found a bit annoying was the lack of proper rotation detection (sometimes you need to rotate it a bit so it gets the correct orientation, hopefully this will be improved via firmware upgrades in the future.).Please note that if you want to use it on the go, with this size, you will definitely need a cover, so ... MoreI added a few disadvantages just in case they are a deal breaker for someone, but in general I'm loving this device. Another thing to take into consideration if you are buying it with the idea of doing a lot of scribbling and underlining over the text with the pen is... this is not possible with the current firmware. Only marker-like highlighting, or adding notes in a pop-up where then you can hand-write. It also includes a goodnotes-like app where you can have several independent hand written notebooks (I guess somehow it's also possible to connect a bluetooth or usb-c keyboard, but I would use my iPad for that instead).I also wanted to add that the standard pen , imho, is good enough. Not sure if paying for the premium version is really worth.

The Scribe is a fantastic product. I have never had a Kindle before so I am new to the experience. I got it for the note taking experience as much as for the book experience. I read a lot of reviews before I bought this and agree with most that the note taking experience is pretty basic and rudimentary, but that’s all I was looking for. You can buy templates for various planners, calendars, etc. through Etsy so it expands this functionality some.On the reading side it is a great device for books. It’s so nice to have seemingly unlimited books on a small device. I was able to upload some PDF textbooks to it and it was nice to have multiple large books that I can easily have with me. The process to upload things is not intuitive but not really difficult either. The battery lasts forever on this thing. I have had it for several weeks now and I have still not charged it from the original charge it was at from the store. The stand by time is amazing. It seems to not use battery at all in stand by mode. I have left it unused for a week and it did not lose any battery power. All in all the device is expensive and you have to really want the note taking capability but it is a great device if you can afford the extra premium.
I’ve been using this Kindle for a few weeks now after some hesitancy since I love having a physical book and am pleasantly surprised with the product. It’s simple enough that reading a book doesn’t detract from the content but also has useful features like a dictionary, translator, and the ability to take notes right at your fingertips. The pen works extremely well and I love that it comes with extra tips to change out. It’s crazy to write on it and see your handwriting directly on the screen! It’s sensitive enough to capture all of the nuances of your writing and works exceptionally well with cursive. I’ve played with the features for a bit and I don’t see the ability to write and have it change to text, however. I’ve played with the features for a bit and I don’t see the ability to write and have it change to text, however. The pen is magnetic and easily attaches to the side but I find it gets in the way when reading and I don’t love to keep it on.The interface is slightly clunky and I would prefer to have a button to bring up the screen but after some tapping your options show up and I like that it keeps what you’ve done most recently as the center icon to select. My favorite feature is the kindle library and that it’s sinker directly to Amazon. I love that you have the ability to borrow books that are included with your prime membership for free! Given the cost of books these days, I will be reading much more than before. I also love that I can download books for my book club with the touch of a button and at a lower cost. I never know what to do with books I don’t want to keep after reading so I also love that I can read without adding clutter to my house! The battery lasts a LONG time as well. The biggest issue I see with this Kindle is that it’s heavy. It’s a nice large size with great features but not intended to be held for a long time. Someone who has trouble with their hands or keeping a grip on things for a long period of time would not be able to use this without some sort of device to prop it up. This is the biggest reason it has lost a star from me!
I purchased this to take notes for classes and read my textbooks, but ended up using it for so much more. I've started reading for fun more and getting back with my creativity by doodling down ideas. It's a distraction-free device that does what it says it does.Additionally, the black and white look may be an issue for some. All highlights are grey which I was worried about be a problem in scanning my textbooks for key info after highlighting. This can be fixed with converting files to pdfs before uploading. And you can't rename files after uploading. The Kindle Scribe really got me into daily reading. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing like a good-smelling, crispy page book. But there’s something about Kindle that makes me want to pick it up more often. I love the Scribe because you can highlight text that you want to revisit later or just find inspiring. You can create different notebooks for different needs. For example, I have a notebook for creative writing, lyric writing, daily planning, journaling and so much more. As far as the reading, it’s really just like the other kindles but on a bigger screen. The scribe aspect is where it stands out and it’s just so cool! The feel of the pencil on paper is spot on. I had to start by saying I absolutely love this product. I purchased my Surface studio laptop, and my Kindle scribe in the same week and since receiving my Kindle scribe, I have not been able to put it down. It simply feels like magic. Because when the pen touches the screen, it doesn’t feel like a screen, it gives it texture. It makes it fluid but still resistant also, I absolutely love the lighting the auto brightness helps in any kind of room but the warmth and the backlight makes me want to keep it close even if I am in a dark room. It doesn’t hurt my eyes. I have an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil, a surface, studio stylus, and a Google pixel laptop with a stylus. All three of these devices have tried get washed away by how amazing it is to use a scribe. All for adding the fact that you can read a book or listen to audiobooks. I was looking into the pad and I am very happy with my decision. The structure of it first seems very different because you have a thick side but while you’re using it, it makes a lot of sense for how you hold it when writing something. Also I rest my whole hand when I write and the palm recognition is great because it doesn’t activate any additional features it it’s just allows you to write. There are two downsides of this product. The first one is there is no color and the second is you start enjoying writing so much that you wish you had a bigger canvas. Last thing I want to leave you with is I showed it to my brother and I accidentally left it in his car and since he’s picked it up he refuses to give it back and whenever I requested he usually guilt trips me on why this should be a gift for him. so for me, the price is very high but I haven’t liked the product as much in a very long time so I’m gonna have to bite the bullet again or force my brother to buy one for me.
Almost a month in and so far so good! I do wish the refresh rate was a little smoother and quicker though. Purchased on the Aug 20th an received it on Aug 22nd. Charged it that night and on Sept. 9th, it still, had 48% battery. I've been using the notebook feature especially for math problems for my accounting class instead of wasting paper. Also, being able to send PDFs to the Scribe, edit it or complete assignment, and email it back and/or forward to the professor, it's fantastic! I've even scanned my loose leaf chapters of my text book and have sent each chapter to my Scribe so I can read and study as needed. I do wish it was waterproof so that I can read while swimming or just in general protected on that front. I do also wish that the Sleep cover could be ... MoreAlmost a month in and so far so good! Otherwise, for what it is, it's great. It can definitely be built up to be even better though.
I was hesitant to get the Scribe. I’ve wanted an e-ink tablet for a while and had looked at the Remarkable for years. But didn’t want to pay a monthly subscription to use the key features you want one of these tablets for.Well, the scribe exceeded the expectations and is a blast to use.The screen backlighting is adjustable warm/cool as well as brightness. And it looks great on both ends of the scale. Using the pen feels great! And the “eraser” is satisfying too.
