It is a great invention! I was able to fix a 20+ yr inconvenient issue with the house my husband built. He forgot to put a switch for the stairs light to the basement at the top of the stairs so I was always going up and down in the dark. (he has passed away) . I have a lamp on a chest under the open stairs. Now I can say Alexa, turn on the downstairs light, (or turn off ) when I come back up. Now I am very safe on the stairs. I would have had a huge tear up of walls to get a switch to a ceiling light. so happy. This is my second one. I tried a cheaper variety and the setup was awful so I returned them and got this. Also cheaper here than on Amazon!

My introduction to smart plugs was a gift of the "A-word" Echo Smart Plug. You can then name the device in the app to identify it for voice control.Tip: If you're using the plug to power a lamp, change the device type in the app from plug to lamp. This allows you to activate some special routines, like saying "Alexa turn off all lights". If you have more than one controlled by Alexa like I do, this is great when turning in for the night. There is a good-bye routine as well, but I've not set that up yet.

Bought this Amazon brand smartplug to replace a "generic brand" that had lasted us 3 years. After being so used to buying another brand that currently in our home, since it was not in stock ended up buying this one by Amazon. I must say their plugs, like this one I bought works very well!! Setup was easy and straightforward it was up and running in matter of mins!! So far so good, and the quality is great have had no issues so far. Amazon's smartplug works well you won't regret it.

This was bought to replace the Kasa TP link. This was worth the extra money. Setup was easy, just follow the directions and it connects to the Alexa app. The device manages how much electricity is being used and can be manually turned on and off through the app. The devices timer/schedule features are bit awkward but you can get it setup to turn on and off at a specific time. Those who are older or not inclined to technology may have a little trouble getting the timer/schedule setup. The best part I like is that I have all my outdoor Christmas lights connected to three different time and they all come and shut off at the same time instead of the old manual dial timers. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Smart Plug was so easy. I am well along in age...and I'm a female. Seemed like a big deal when I HEARD how to set it up. Seemed like a big deal when I READ how to set it up. Basicallyplug it into the outlet or the power strip even. Plug the light into the smart Plug. Using the Alexa App you'll find it's already on there. Scan the bar code on the plug or easier was the one on the box. It does the rest. All I had to do was tell Alexa to turn on ie.the 1st plug (or light) and on it came. I've put three in my apartment so far. Relax and enjoy.
The Alexa Smart Plug offers seamless integration with your Amazon Alexa devices, allowing you to control appliances with simple voice commands or through the Alexa app. It's easy to set up and works reliably, making everyday tasks like turning off lights or powering on coffee makers more convenient. The compact design ensures it doesn’t block adjacent outlets. While it's a bit more expensive than some competitors, its reliability and ease of use make it a solid choice for smart home beginners.
It just works. Setup through the app is a little awkward but ultimately, it works and seems to stay connected to the wifi as designed. I used it for my Christmas lights and programmed it to come on and turn off at particular times each night. Other than an awkward interface through the Alexa app, everything else has worked flawlessly. 4-star because of the app interface.
Absolutely love these little things... They enable the laziness in my life! also great to mess with the family when you are away... I randomly turn things on an off when I get lonely. When I turn things on and off, the family calls me to tell me the Smart Plugs are acting up again! Great Product!!!!
Initially bought this to turn on a light at sunset, for a fixed time. Easy to set up with an Alexa routine on my home wifi. The Amazon smart plug schedule runs very reliably, unlike a couple of Wemo plugs I have.I'm now using the Amazon smart plug to turn on & off a heated towel rail (rated about 400W) when the outside temperature changes between 2 limits. I could only do this by incorporating an IFTTT trigger since Alexa routines alone are not quite that smart. It's a very useful feature here at this time of year as the temperature regularly swings between 40F and 80F.
Love this. Just plug in and then add plug you want lit up and set with your Alexa app. And then when you want to turn on just ask Alexa turn on, in my case the Christmas tree, and walla its turns on. No pressing buttons and no more plugging daily. Thats its! give a little command and watch it lit.
