Ambrosia Rice Pudding Original 150g

Simply a lighter version of the original custard. I think a lot of people are put off by the taste of light products perhaps justifiably because many of them have a certain taste or none really at all but this product isnt bad. Certainly, if one wants or needs to pay attention to their calorie intake but would also like the occasional treat, I dont think that this product is a bad choice. It is effectively the same as the original, only not as sweet. Even better, it is already portioned out for those of us who find it difficult to do so for ourselves. I was VERY surprised to see that these contained palm oil in them, though. Palm oil, really I hope that this will be replaced with something else or that sustainable sources will be sought

It wasn't until sometime last year that I tried rice pudding for the very first time and, consequently, realised that it makes for a nice treat. So far, I've only tried 1 belonging to a brand other than this one, making me more or less the opposite of an expert on the stuff, however, I can at the very least comment as someone who isn't averse to purchasing "light" products which, admittedly, can sometimes be…uninspiring - dissatisfying. The rice pudding that I have been purchasing is organic and sold chilled, and really sweet and creamy and nice. Regardless, though, it still manages to have that subtle sweetness and creaminess to it that rice pudding is appreciated for. The rice itself is quite soft. In short, I would be happy to have this again.

Only the best from Iceland yet again. Ambrosia Custard, theres only one. Only the best custard ever. Thank You Iceland, always aim to deliver they certainly do. High 5 to the drivers having the patience of a saint with the So called carrier bags...., They leave alot to be desired. Iceland, Please, please, please sort the bag situation out ASAP. Thank You

Better for you

I really enjoy the creamy taste of Ambrosia rice pudding so was initially skeptical when I saw this version was 30% less sugar and fat. However, I was pleasantly surprised as it doesn’t taste vastly different to the original and it has a good taste and same creamy texture. Best of all, it’s better for me!

Delicious desert / snack

Great tasting rice pudding, lovely, creamy texture. Very handy little pots, just the right size for a snack, great as a dessert or anytime of day. Perfect for lunchboxes too! Excellent quality as usual from Ambrosia. Would highly recommend.

Great value pack

Ambrosia brings back fab childhood memories for me as my Mum used to give us this. Best rice pudding I've ever had, lovely and creamy and really good served warm too if you stick it in the microwave. Would like to the pots slightly bigger, but the 4 pack is great value. Ideal for a treat on the go, or for lunch boxes, definitely recommended.

Pleasantly surprised!

Being a big fan of the original recipe and having a very sweet tooth, I didn't expect this would hit the spot, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It doesn't taste much different to the original version at all, but is a much healthier version. Lovely served warm or cold, and now I know the lighter version is just as good I can treat myself more often!

Time saver

The idea of ready to eat rice pudding is great. Whenever we cook rice properly with a rice cooker it takes a standard of 45 minutes. I know it is faster if you use a sauce pan or anything else but sorry it won’t be good enough. To make a dessert out of I guess it requires at least an extra of 15 minutes. This product saves you a lot of time if you just want a snack for yourself.

not like it used to be ..

Have bought in the past and this has always been my favourite rice pudding but todays tin was so disappointing. 7 sultanas 3/4 of the tin is liquid, very bland no nutmeg taste at all and rice seems undercooked. Definitely not worth the cost. Ambrosia seems to have either changed the recipe or have a faulty batch. If this is going to be the norm will not buy again.
