I can see why a lot of reviews are marking this down as why moisturize after shaving in the morning when you usually jump into the shower to wash, and then put on moisturizer. The product itself does a great job but it just initially does not feel right. Mainly because you cant see the lather being removed as you shave. If you persist I think it is not a problem as you can see stubble disappearing. I have never heard of American Crew and at just under 12 this is far too expensive. A better option is their precision shave gel for half the price.

I do prefer to wet shave and have probably tried everything from foams, gels and even a shaving brush and solid soap . . . but this is the first time I have used a shavemoisturising cream. It is scented, not strongly or unpleasantly so and goes on well. I found the addition of a splash of water helped. One advantage is that you can see where is is unlike the gels I have used and I did get a good clean shave. It took bit of effort to wash off a bit like conditioner but as I usually have a shower straight after a shave . . . no issue. I think the asking price is a bit steep, considering what I pay for my current shaving gel . . . also for sensitive skin. It was easy to rinse the sink basin and there was no annoying scum or residue left in the basin as with some shave creams I have used. Also I have sensitive skin and can react to nylon labels etc. With the CREW Moisturising Cream my skin has been fine. The tube does say that the cream helps to prevent irritation, which the last sentence agrees with. Apart from the sensitivity of my skin, my skin is normal. The cream is for normal to dry skin. I do not know how it works on greasy skin. So based on the above tests, the American CREW Moisturising shave cream is easy to use, smells nice and a little goes a long way. That results in a 5 star review rating from me.

An interesting product for shaving as it is a cream and does not lather so takes a bit of getting used to not being able to see the shaving product disappearing along with your stubble probably need to use this with a magnifying shave mirror so you can see the stubble disappearing rather than the product itself. It has a pleasant smell which doesnt linger which is a plus for me. It slicks the skin up well and allows the razor blade to glide easily I use single doubleedged razor blades. You dont need much to cover your face and neck so it should last a while. Not sure I would pay the price of 12 for this though as I have used cheaper products which are just as good.
en years ago, American Crew was my hair brand of choice. My barber stopped stocking it and so I moved on. When I saw this on Vine I jumped at the chance to test a new AC product. I have sensitive skin and so I have to be careful what products I use. This is rather thin cream provides lubricant but does not cushion the effects of the blade enough. Its just a bit too watery for what i need. It does provide a moisturising effect on the skin which reduces razor burn, which the products consistency creates. Overall this is a product better suited to non sensitive skin.
Shave cream is an excellent alternative to conventional wet shaving, provided that the shave cream is really effective. This one is. It gives a slick surface for your blade to glide over, removing all of the days growth. It makes your skin slippery so there is no rushing the shave, but slowing down helps to achieve a closer and better shave. You dont need to use much, just enough to provide a slick surface for your blade. It moisturizes the skin, leaving it smooth and nongreasy and smelling good, but the smell vanishes as soon as you have rinsed your face, so you will still need to use your usual products afterwards. Four stars rather than five, because the tube had leaked when it arrived in the post. The cap seemed tight enough, so Im not sure how this happened.
This is a nice enough shaving cream, it feels pleasant on the skin and helps smoothen the shave, however, it has a very creamy consistency and doesnt lather well. It does leave the skin feeling smooth and moisturised after the shave, so thats a big advantage. The scent is nice, but it doesnt linger after the face has been rinsed post shave. This might be good if you have a favourite cologne or other to apply afterwards, but otherwise its a bit disappointing. Overall, we think that it is a nice product, however, we are not sure it warrants the current price level of 11 for a relatively small tube.
Never heard of American Crew but always willing to try new shaving creams. The cream itself isnt quite thick enough to generate a proper lather on the face so ended up using quite a bit. The fragrance is very subtle and inoffensive. It works well as a moisturizing cream leaving no red shaving rashes so it isnt necessary to use a post shave balm. The American Crew shave cream isnt bad. It does exactly what it says on the tube but I wish it was a tad thicker so I could generate a good lather.

This has been the best shaving cream I’ve ever used... until yesterday. For years I’ve only used this having cream because it’s the best of the best. I used it yesterday and found out both the texture and ingredients have changed but the name of the product remains the same. the number one ingredient I loved was the menthol. This is no longer there. The texture used to be a thick cream, now it’s a thin lotion. Why has the product line changed? when? Where can I find what the former product used to be?
