Amino Energy + Electrolytes Sparkling RTD Strawberry

I wasn't expecting to hate this, but I also wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. I normally don't like sparkling drinks, but this has just the right amount of carbonation. The flavor is great if you like blueberry and the lemon isn't overpowering. It also gives a good amount of energy. I just drank it a few minutes ago, so I don't know whether or not I'll crash in a few hours, but it doesn't feel like I will. It feels like just a little boost of energy. After drinking this, I looked at the nutrition facts and was shocked that it only has five calories. I still can't believe it. It tastes too good to have that few of them. There's a lot of sodium, but most energy drinks have that too.

I love carbonated drinks and thought this would be perfect for my workouts, but I found that it was not quite what I was hoping for. The can recommends to drink it 15-30 minutes before working out. I live more than 15 minutes away from my gym, so I decided to drink most of it during the car ride to the gym, which was mildly inconvenient. While the taste was fine, it left an aftertaste that reminded me of artificial sweetener (even though the drink was not advertised as having any sweetener). I did my workout as usual and I did not notice a difference in my performance or thirst. I am also sensitive to caffeine, so I felt like this was too much for me. I recently started getting back into exercising and decided to try this before my morning run. I drank it as instructed about 30 mins or so before my workout. The watermelon flavor was good and really refreshing. I didn’t feel anything initially but about 20-30 mins into my run I noticed I had a huge burst of energy. Most times I’m getting tired around that time but felt very energized and was able to workout and exercise for longer. It does have caffeine which I’m not a huge fan of since I am a coffee drinker. I didn’t drink coffee on the day I drank this drink as I didn’t want to be too wired. I did notice after the workout that I wasn’t as sore as I am usually. I do feel this drink helped with that.
