Amazing alternative to wheat-based pasta

This is not a product made with a glutenous flour, so the texture won't be the same. This is not a product made with your good old grain, so the taste won't be the same. In fact, those with keen taste buds will immediately figure out that it tastes green lentils. This product is a great alternative to grain -free pasta. It cooks very quickly. It holds its structure as long as you follow the cooking instructions- which is not very different from a durum pasta. The catch is it doesn't tolerate longer boiling times like conventional pasta does. But it is not a problem because you are already in the kitchen preparing your pasta sauce! :)

Excellent!

This was a disappointing choice - the protein content is great, but the pasta does not hold its shape at all if you cook it, even if you follow the directions on the box. It tastes fine if you can manage to scrape it out, but it's not great for cooking otherwise, I won't be getting it again.

Good pasta alternative
10 May 2022

Decent alternative to traditional pastas. The flavor and texture was really different than a normal pasta but that was expected. I love that the ingredients are clean, only 2 ingredients and lots of protein. It cooks pretty similar to regular pasta. It isn't mushy like other chickpea pasta's I've tried previously. I would definitely repurchase but only rating it 4 stars for the price point being pretty high.

High protein pasta

Lentil pasta sometimes has a strange smell, but this one was pretty OK! I got this for the protein and it doesn't disappoint with 25g. Easy to cook, be sure to rinse afterwards to get rid of the sliminess.

Not Impressed
15 March 2018

As someone who would prefer to use a gluten-free, high protein pasta I figured I would give this a shot. I typically buy Explore Cusine pasta but I'm always up to try something new. I was highly dissapointed with this choice. It is near impossible to cook this pasta to its proper texture, at least the five different times I've tried. It's either hard and slightly rubbery or quite literally falling apart. I love the idea of the product, and the ingredients, just think the recipe could use a little work.

Not bad

I was hesitant to order these because of the reviews but they came out fine. I cooked them separately and stirred in pesto sauce and chicken. Good, but I like the Explore Cuisine brand better.

Ok

Some people love lentil and chickpea pastas, but I can't find any whose texture I actually enjoy. These are too firm and chewy when al dente but they're fall-apart gooey and mushy when cooked slightly longer. Maybe they're perfect when cooked to a Goldilocks level, and they're definitely healthier than regular white wheat pasta, but I won't rebuy.

Tastes great!
2 April 2018

I used to practically live off of pasta (possibly part of the reason my body started rejecting it? :p) Going gluten-free was initially super easy since I was too exhausted to care about much of anything, but as I started feeling better, I started craving old favorites. Now I think I would actually eat Pow! pasta over the old fashion stuff. It has a wonderful taste and texture, as well as a pretty good nutritional profile! I like to add fresh rosemary to it right after cooking, then prepare as usual.
