Angelbird AV Pro SD MK2 256 GB V90
Designed for high bit depths, frame rates, and resolutions, including Full HD, 4K+, and 3D video, as well as raw and continuous burst photography in DSLR and drone systems, the 256GB AV Pro Mk 2 UHS-II SDXC Memory Card from Angelbird features a storage capacity of 256GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support sustained read speeds of 280 MB/s and sustained write speeds of 260 MB/s, as well as sequential read speeds of 300 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 280 MB/s. This card has also been designed with the V90 Video Speed Class rating, which guarantees minimum write speeds of 90 MB/s. UHS-II media achieves its speed through an extra row of pins and while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V90 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V90. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V60, which supports minimum write speeds of 60 MB/s, UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantees minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s. Built for extreme conditions, Angelbird's 256GB AV Pro Mk 2 UHS-II SDXC Memory Card is protected against water, shock, x-rays, magnets, and temperatures ranging from -13 to 185°F. Also featured is ECC data reliability, wear leveling, and power management for low power usage. A built-in write-protect switch helps to safeguard your content from being erased. If not registered within this period, the market-specific legal guarantee period comes into force.

I have several Angelbird V90 cards - they are very fast, which means that the camera buffer clears really quickly after high speed sequential shooting such as birds in flight. They handle all 4K video modes without any problems (and would cope with 6k or even 8K if my camera supported it!). Overall, excellent memory cards that I would thoroughly recommend.

I have done a thorough testing of the Angelbird 64GB AV Pro UHS-II SDXC Memory Card. I originally bought it to record All-intra 10bit on the GH5 needing better than V30 video transfer speed offered by most other sd cards. For recording it works. However, playback within the camera will cause the camera to freeze. I cant get out of playback mode, cannot turn the camera off. The only option is to remove the battery. I thought it might have to do with the heavy All-intra 10bit file, but testing with all recording rates (10bit, 8bit, long GOP, All-Intra, HD, etc) it still freezes on playback regardless of the recording mode. I do not recommend.

I have a BlackMagic Video Assist 4k, while recording the SD cards just disappear randomly, and I have to remove/insert/remove/insert several times before the video assist can detect the cards. I sent the Video Assist 4k back to BlackMagic, their techs recorded or 40 hours of video with 3 different cameras and 10 different types of SD cards, they couldnt find a problem. They sent it back to me, and next day I had the same problems with the Angelbird SD cards randomly disconnecting while recording. I just got the new BlackMagic Pocket Cinema 4K, spent 6 hours filming, then when I plugged the SD cards into my computer, it said the cards are corrupt and need to be formatted. Two different cameras have problems with these cards. I should not that Im filming in HD, not ... Do not buy these.

DO NOT BUY THIS CARD. Card has corrupt sectors and disappeared hundreds of images from my photoshoot. The missing images could not be recovered by multiple recovery software, it's like they vanished. My stomach is churning, I feel sick.

Only once I have verified that everything is properly backed up onto the cloud and locally, I reformat both Angelbird cards in the C70 on the day of my next shoot. This procedure has worked flawlessly so far. I don't know what the lifetime is of these cards, but I have not had any problems. They are capable of recording full 4K. With slower cards, I ran into buffer overload of cards and missed important shoots.
I just bough a GH5 and the first thing I did was to purchase the Angelbird V90 card for high end video capture. Using the recording format , 4K, 422/10bit / long gop, 150 Mbps, 24p, I loaded my GH5 and out to the field I went. I was filming waves crashing on the breakwater and then I got the error message "now writing please wait "and the camera quit recording. The camera was on and recording but the card was not writing. There was about 5 -10 seconds of video that was lost. To make sure this was not a fluke I experienced this same event on at least 2 other occurrences. The camera only recorded about 3 seconds max before recording shut down. Very frustrating.I can only assume that being LongGOP the codex was working extra hard on very busy scenes, but isn't this ... I sent the information to Angelbird and they will replace the card, big deal. I lost an important shot and this cannot be replaced.
I do not recommend these cards at all for the Panasonic GH5.I brought these like many who were excited and eager to start shooting with our new cameras only to have them freeze or slow the camera to an unusable crawl. The problem arises when opening the playback menu. Recording to the cards so far has been fine although I haven't recorded clips longer than a few minutes so they're not out of the clear in that area just yet. When opening the playback menu the camera freezes or at best takes a good 30-40s to open a file for review. Navigating files is also treacherous as it can freeze up at any given moment.Overall my experience with these cards has been bad and for a run and gun set up these will cause you to miss valuable shots while you swear at your camera ... Maybe a firemware update could fix these or simply poor manufacturing where some cards work fine (judging by other peoples reviews) and others run slow.Either way I would look elsewhere.
In researching cards to use for a Canon EOS C70, this Mark 2 version (both 256 and 128 sizes) were one of the view as listed by Canon to be fully supported. Thanks to others on various Canon forums, I then learned that the peak bitrate of the C70 is around 545 Mbps when in some of the slow and fast motion modes. Thus, you definitely need V90 speeds as V60 would only yield 480 Mbps.I really like that the card doesn't have any peelable label on it. It's very well made. Super-high contrast and large fonts make reading the relevant info extremely easy.Increadibly fast to initialize and they work very well in an iMac Pro's SD slot (which is a UHS-II slot). They are costly, but well worth it. Highly recommended. Also comes with a three year manufacturer warranty ... Not a true backup of the exact same footage, but a backup nonetheless while spending a bit less on media.
This is a bad product. I purchased my first card in 2018 from B & H and it failed in my new GH5 on my trip to Hawaii. It just stopped writing and I lost the file I was recording at the time. B & H was very helpful and I sent the card back to Austria (home office ) and Angelbird replace the card. I am not a power user, just a casual video maker. I record at 4k, 150 MB, 422/10, 24P. A healthy data rate, but well within the capabilities of this card. Last weekend in New York in the middle of my recording, the GH5 stopped, frozen. I could not turn if off, none of the function buttons worked and all I could do was to remove the battery which unfroze the camera. The media I was recording in the Angelbird card was not saved, it was lost. Two identical errors from separate Angelbird products. Expensive product, not worth the money. There are other cards on the market and I will be using them, not Angelbird
I've had these cards for about 2/3 years now and they handled everything very well! From capturing on an older Canon 80D to the newer Lumix S5, Blackmagic Cinema Cameras.. 4k, 6k and 6k pro with BRAW and ProRes the cards did not fail once. Transfer speeds are great! Knowing that Angelbird can and will release firmware updates if the cards become incompatible due to camera updates is just wonderful. Also, the packaging is great! I didn't throw the CF Express Type B but because it's so nice and came with stickers! You can't go wrong here. Just get it!
