Loved this game as a kid. Excited to pick it back up while practicing social distancing. Its a very relaxed game and is family friendly. You can have multiple people in the same town, but you have to play at separate times. My siblings, parents and I used to compete to make the town better, make the most money and upgrade our houses. My mom had to set a timer for each of us to take turns playing because we all got so into it(including the adults). I would highly recommend this game!

The gameplay on the Wii is, needless to say, very different from the GC and DS versions. It allows you to be a little more interactive with the game (Wiimote motions) which I really like. I feel like I'm doing a bit more than just staring at a screen and toggling joysticks. The downside to the Wii version is you have to point/aim and select items in your inventory with the Wiimote. There's no scrolling through and selecting with the D-pad. You can play this game with or without a nunchuck, but the nunchuck makes it so much easier. Complete and great quality!
14 December 2022

This product came exactly as pictured. It had all of the pieces that it said that it did, and it is a great introduction to the Animal Crossing series. I am trying to get my wife more into video games, and something fun and light like Animal Crossing seems right up her alley. The disc worked great, and I can't wait to move on to actual gameplay with her (it's a Christmas present for my wife)!

Great Price For A Hard To Find Game
18 May 2013

I walked into my local Best Buy and was surprised to see that they had this game preowned (seeing as how most stores don't even offer it new anymore and it's pretty hard to find.) I recently bought a Wii U and wanted to catch up on this before New Leaf comes out for the 3DS.When I brought it home, everything looked as if it were actually new, even though the product was preowned! I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be buying P.O. from my local Best Buy again. In terms of gameplay, this is like all the other Animal Crossing games for the GameCube and DS. You assume the role of a new dude or dudette in town, and have to pay off your house all while discovering fossils and catching bugs or fishing. (There's a museum for you to fill up with everything you collect.)I usually do not like games like this and find them tedious, but this game has a unique allure and charm that makes it fun to play. My only complaint would be that since it follows a real world clock, if you play too late, you can't do much stuff (as the store in game is closed around 10.)Other than that this game is amazing, so if you have a Wii or Wii U (with a Wii Remote) I suggest you pick up this game! Easily the best console version of Animal Crossing. You can even host online hang outs with your friends in your town (however this requires you both to swap friend codes, as was Nintendo's online structure years ago.)Overall, definitely consider picking this up before New Leaf!

Great game gone so so
4 December 2014

This game was tops and 5 star for a number of years. I now give it only a 3 star rating because of Nintendo support (yes it involves game play) thus 3 stars. Nintendo cut the WiFi support on many games, this being one. Special visitors do pop in from time to time, and add a change to your routine. Your friends "WERE" able to visit via WiFi and WiiConnect24, bringing in high pay items from their town. This service has been cut by Nintendo. No one outside the regular cast can visit. So no one can bring in items from the outside to help make the town prosper. You can still have a bit of fun making the town your own, but the sparkle is reduced. But for the right price, go for it!

This has quickly become my kids favorite game. They love the silly things the characters do and say and the challenge of earning “money” to buy unique items within the game. The disk also arrived clean looking without scratches. All around great experience.

Like the My Sims, this sucks you in, and you want to continue playing. Being someone disabled physically, I look for a game that is easy to play and fun enough to keep my attention because I lay for long periods of time.Starting out is less fun than My Sims-but, like the Sims, you have tasks that need to be completed, in order to be rewarded. In My Sims the rewards come much more quickly, so, in that way, Animal Crossing is more tedious, and time consuming to find your rewards, which are given to you in the form of bells (money), which you use to pay for your mortgage, or clothes, or other things you want to purchase. You can shake the trees, and get oranges, or bells (coins), or furniture, or other things (encased in leaves). The rewards don't come quickly enough for my taste, and sometimes you get stung by bees shaking the trees, leaving you with a swollen eye. There are shells by the seashore to pick up also, to sell for bells.Later, when you purchase a shovel, or fishing pole, or net, you can use these tools for other ways to make money. With the shovel, you can dig up fossils, or bang on rocks that give you bells (coins)-or you can fish for fish-some of which take a while to get to bite, and catch butterflies and other various bugs with the net.All can be sold at one store, for bells (money)-and you can purchase more equipment there. There are other animals in the town, that sometimes ask you to help them out, and if you choose to help them, often they give you bells after you complete your task and go back and speak to them. There is a bus that takes you to the city, where you can get a makeover, and adopt your wii identity for the right price, and, go to the show, which gives you different emotions-go to a fortune teller, or other city ventures that have not been very productive for me yet, though I think I have more to figure out that I can do later in the game, as it seems to add on progressive tasks. If you have a computer hook up, you can go to other people's towns, and communicate with your friends, which would probably be an excellent thing for many, and if I had that feature, I may have given this and excellent scoring, although it still doesn't make the rewards come as quickly as I think they should. I mean sometimes you really have to shake a lot of trees to find a bell, or wait some time for a fish to bite, after throwing and rethrowing to get the right position where the fish faces your bait, and, you can't position and turn so you can see behind or on other sides of buildings, like you can in My Sims, which is a real disappointing thing, as you have to pick up things dropped behind buildings sometimes, but you can't see them. The other downfall, for someone who wants to keep playing, when they can't sleep at night, is that they close the store at 10:00 p.m. where you sell your wares, and the stores in the city close early-I believe at 9:00 p.m.-there is the designing store that closes at 11:00, and you don't find as much to pick up after hours, and the people are veeeerrrrrry grouchy at night, like it was meant to be for a child that has a bedtime-very aggravating. You have all the things you find in your pockets, and if they are full, you have to take them to the store to sell, therefore, after hours, you either drop them somewhere to find them later, and continue to wander about shaking trees-which at night seem pretty bare, or stop playing and start again in the morning. All in all I like it, and like I say, it does suck you in and you want to keep going and may be much more fun, if you have the computer hook up.

Nice game
3 January 2022

Great game. As a fan of animal crossing, I had to get my hands on this one. It arrived quickly and the box/manual was in great condition. My only issue is that sometimes there is an error when I try to open the game, which is usually resolved with resetting the wii and taking the disc out; i gave it 4 stars only because I couldn’t give it 4.5 lol. Overall, shipping was great and it was quick and easy to buy. I also bought a wii remote and nunchuck, which also came in great condition.

You make the whole story, as you and up to three other players move into a town and just live life. Befriend your animal neighbors, decorate your house with cool furnishings, fill up your wardrobe, get to know the local wildlife, hop on a bus to visit the new city and just explore the world. There are a million different ways to play. Every charming animal character has a personality: some are grouches while others are chatterboxes. And there's no final goal or high score to hit. The game keeps going for as long as you want to play, and your town will always be there when you return. Move into town, buy a house and then do whatever you want. Time and seasons pass as they do in the real world, so there's always something different happening. Collect more than 2,400 items, go fishing for rare and interesting fish, catch all kind of cool bugs, dig up dinosaur fossils and buried treasure, hang out with other players or spend the day in the city. There's so much to do, and you have all the time in the world to explore it all.
