This isn't your huge battery pack that'll recharge your device fully, but it is a great small additional battery pack to boost your phone without the need of trailing power leads. The single USB-C port can be used to charge it or charge another device, so if you find your non-magsafe device needs a charge then you can still use this to recharge it. The LED lights down the side indicate charge state, but they only seem to appear when plugged in or attached to your device, I couldn't see a way to check charge state other than that. Not really an issue, as I've normally got my phone with me to check it.The magnetic strength seems pretty solid. It makes the phone bulkier than normal but because the weight is directly down the balance in your hand is actually pretty good. ... MoreThis isn't your huge battery pack that'll recharge your device fully, but it is a great small additional battery pack to boost your phone without the need of trailing power leads. The single USB-C port can be used to charge it or charge another device, so if you find your non-magsafe device needs a charge then you can still use this to recharge it. So ideal for nights out and that charge boost because you took too many photos.

I like the Anker Magnetic Battery, my wife dislikes carrying around wires, and the ease of use on this product is truly amazing. When I took it out of the box and attached it, it auto-sensed and started charging.I must admit that it charges through a normal case, but won't stick securely while you're on the move. To get the full use of this you are going to have to invest in a Magsafe-like case. Now, I'm someone who has always preferred wired charging, and I love having the option to plug it into my phone for a much faster charge compared to wireless charging. Surprisingly, I found the built-in "stand" feature more useful than I initially thought. It comes in handy, especially when watching something on the phone while grabbing food on a plane

Honestly I expected better from Anker, the battery heats up extremely fast which in turn heats up my phone and degrades the phone battery and Anker battery pack faster. The magnet is not very strong, it removes easily with the slightest movement. As for the charging performance, it’s not too bad, can fill up my iPhone 14 Pro Max to full and leave a tiny bit of charge left in the batter pack. Its original price (which is what I got it for when it came out) is a bit over in accordance for the issues it has. The flip stand is annoying sideways and sometimes closes up and the phone falls, it’s not bad standing up though. Thickness is a bit annoying but doesn’t matter too much, the portability is not a big issue although somewhat heavy and it will constantly latch on to ... MoreHonestly I expected better from Anker, the battery heats up extremely fast which in turn heats up my phone and degrades the phone battery and Anker battery pack faster. I bought this device to be a reliable alternative to the Apple MagSafe batteries, and as usual Anker did not disappoint. The material is smooth and scratch resistant plastic; pretty quality stuff, and the weight is no issue as it is very precisely balanced. The magnetic kickstand is just a plastic frame holding a flat metal stick that can be glued back on if it comes off from drop-shock. Removing this gives you DIY access. It fits the hand very well and has an amazing magnet: it is as wide as an iPhone 13 mini, but extends past the bottom by half an inch or so.After 3-5 (idk) years the battery may not be what it was, but it is still just as fast and reliable. I've used it exclusively for my phone as a permanent wireless charging solution since purchase. It's hard to get too excited about a battery pack--if it delivers the juice you need and doesn't take eons to do it, what more can you really ask for? In the case of Anker's 663 MagGo battery pack, you actually *can* ask for a little more--and Anker kindly delivers!Let's start with the basics. The 663 MagGo offers 10,000 mAh of charge capacity in a nicely compact and easily pocketable form-factor. The pack itself is charged via the USB-C jack on the side; a short USB-C cable is included in the box, but it's up to you to supply the wall charger. Charging for your devices is delivered via the MagGo's USB-C or USB-A ports or using the built-in wireless magnetic charging pad. The pack itself is charged via the USB-C jack on the side; a short USB-C cable is included in the box, but it's up to you to supply the wall charger. Charging for your devices is delivered via the MagGo's USB-C or USB-A ports or using the built-in wireless magnetic charging pad. All three charging options may be used independently or together--I was charging a battery pack for my smart door lock and my Microsoft Elite 2 controller using the USB ports while my Jabra earbuds and carrying case were being juiced up using the wireless charging pad--all at the same time. There is an easy-to-see 4-segment LED charge-level meter on the side of the battery pack and an additional LED just to the left of the charge-level meter that flashes whenever the battery pack is being charged from a wall socket or lights solid when using the wireless charging pad. It's a bit of an unconventional display that feels slightly more complicated than it really needs to be, especially as both the charging LED and charge level LEDs flash when juicing the battery pack up from a wall charger. But it is handy to have an extra visual indicator to know if your device and the wireless charging pad are aligned properly to deliver a charge. I do wish that one LED was a slightly different color (or at least positioned slightly farther away) only so that the battery charge/wireless charging light wasn't so easily confused with the four neighboring charge-level LEDs.A single power button is situated at the bottom of the pack; a 1-second hold turns the pack on, 2 seconds turns it off. However, the button feels a bit unnecessary as the pack already turns itself on whenever you connect a device to a USB port or place one on the wireless charging pad; and it turns itself off after a few seconds if nothing is attached. To measure charging performance, I let my iPhone 12 completely discharge twice over the course of three days. The 663 MagGo delivered two full charges to my phone and still showed one LED segment (between 0-25%) of charge leftover without needing any additional recharge from a wall socket. Using the wireless charging pad, I reached about 1/3 charge in just 30 minutes while it took around 3 hours to fully charge my phone from 1% shutdown to 100%. The wireless charging pad was potent enough to provide a charge straight through my Otterbox Commuter case--nice!Along with Anker's essentially bulletproof performance and outstanding reputation for such accessories, the 663 MagGo has just a little more up its sleeve. The back features a small fold-out kickstand that allows you to use the battery pack as a phone stand for desktop/tabletop viewing while charging. The magnet wasn't strong enough to keep the phone secure inside my Otterbox case; but then again, the Commuter is not a MagSafe case anyway, so I didn't really expect it to work in that configuration. However, when removed from the case, the MagGo battery pack held my iPhone quite securely both vertically and in landscape mode...and if you already have a MagSafe-rated phone case, the magnet is *easily* strong enough to hold your phone and case aloft. The casing of the battery pack itself feels reassuringly solid though it is not ruggedized--it should easily survive many trips in and out of pockets, briefcases, handbags, backpacks, and crowded gym or overnight bags, but I don't know how many falls to the pavement it will endure. The kickstand integrates smoothly into the outer shell and snaps back into the closed position with authority thanks to a small spring inside the integrated hinge, but the entire kickstand assembly feels slightly on the thin side; I suspect you could easily snap it off if you swing it out too forcefully so those of you who are particularly gruff with your gear (or have younger kids who may be a bit careless with more delicate electronics) should take note. Otherwise, about the only thing here that would have elevated this battery pack even further would have been a fold-out electrical plug--having to use your own wall charger adds just a little extra bulk and effort for an otherwise stellar and streamlined offering. In the end, it's still just a battery pack--but it does its job and seems to do it very well; and there are enough cool nice-to-haves here to make Anker's 663 MagGo an easy and flexible standout choice amidst the incredibly crowded portable battery pack market. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Had this for over a year now. Bought it for working outside, using an app that really drained my battery. The magnet is really strong. It really charges your iPhone fast. It does add some weight or heft to your phone while it's attached. The only issue I had was the heat, how warm it would make your phone when charging. My iPhone display would dim when working outside in warm/hot weather while using this charger because of the ambient heat from being outside combined with the heat from charging. The charger itself will last a few days before it needs charged, which is really nice. I didn't have to worry about charging it every night. All in all I would say this is an excellent option for portable charging.
I have purchased Anker 622, Anker 633 as well as Apple's magsafe battery, tested all 3 and decided to keep Anker 622 and return the other 2 and this is why:1) PortabilityFirst of all, portability is very important to me. I want to be able to put my magsafe battery in my pocket while attached to my phone and I want to be able to hold it and use my phone while charging. Anker 622 and Apple Magsafe are almost the same size and they are both very slim and lightweight while Anker 633 is heavier and bulkier.2) PowerApple's battery is the worst in terms of power. I tried charging my phone while using it and the battery percentage kept steady and even went down during heavy usage with the battery fully charged attached. Anker 622 and 633 have similar output and charged my phone at similar speeds. It's still very slow when charging wirelessly but better than Apple. When charging with a cable, Anker 633 can give 20W output while 622 only gives 12W but keep in mind that the fuller your phone battery is, the slower it will charge. This is not a battery issue, it's how your phone handles charging in order to preserve battery, so in other words it's the wattage the phone accepts at that time. For example, if your phone battery is at 5%, it will "accept" the max power, meaning 20W from Anker 633 and 12W from 622. But if your phone battery is at let's say 70%, it will maybe "accept" just about 11W max so the difference between 622 and 633 is not very relevant. Note that Apple's battery does not accept have an output port to charge with a cable. There's something I found annoying with the 633 model when switching from wireless to cable charging. If I'm charging my iPhone wirelessly at 7.5W and connect a cable, the battery doesn't automatically switch to wired charging. I need to reboot it or detach and reattach my phone in order to switch to wired charging and get a faster charge. With the 622 model I don't have this problem because as soon as I plug in the cable it switches to cable charging. I guess this is because 633 gives you the ability to power off the battery if you just want to use it as a stand while 622 is always on when you have your phone magnetically attached.3) TemperatureAs other reviewers have mentioned, Anker 622 gets hot, but mine doesn't get super hot. I haven't had the issue with the battery getting so hot that the phone will shut off. Not sure if it's because I bought mine in October/2022. Apple's Magsafe and Anker 633 also get hot but much less.4) Advantages of eachSo, as I have mentioned, Anker 622 is the best in my opinion and is the one I decided to keep especially due to portability and is also the cheapest of all 3. But Apple's and Anker 633 have some advantages worth mentioning:Apple- Uses a lightning cable, so it can be charged with the same cable you charge your phone. No need for an extra cable but there are rumors that iPhones will be switching to USB-C next year- Shows the magsafe battery percentage on your phone similar to your airpods. On the other hand the battery itself doesn't have any lights indicating how much juice it has left which is annoying.Anker 633- 10000 mAh which can fully charge my iPhone 12 Pro more than 1 time- USB-A and USB-C output ports to charge different devices.- 20W output when charging with a cable as long as your phone battery is nearly empty- Option to turn on/off batterySummaryThe choice of which battery to get depends on your personal preference. If you're buying this just to travel and want to bring only one battery with you, the 633 might be a better choice for you since it can hold more juice. In my case, portability is very important so I'd rather travel with two 5000 mAh batteries rather than carry one 10000 mAh. I normally fully charge my phone battery while at the hotel and then just bring a powerbank to help my phone survive the whole day and 5000 mAh has enough power to do that. I don't want to be carrying a heavy and bulky battery around but this might not be a problem for you.
Anker does not fail to impress with this item. Currently I have an iPhone 13 ProMax, Apple Watch series 7 and Airpod Pros, all of which need charging (obviously), and this item, takes care of all of it. While it does have some heft to it, seeing as how it is a 10000mAh battery, it is still highly portable and will fit nicely inside of any backpack or even back pocket. I can also assure you that even with the added weight, the magnets Anker used inside the case are MORE then enough to secure the pack to your phone (dependent on the type of case you use also)The pack has 3 ways of charging. I can also assure you that even with the added weight, the magnets Anker used inside the case are MORE then enough to secure the pack to your phone (dependent on the type of case you use also)The pack has 3 ways of charging. First off, we have the Magsafe option, which charges devices at 7.5W. I let my phone drop down to 13% and it took around 4 hours to reach 100%, while draining this pack about 50% (There are circular white lights that indicate the current level of charge available). A small side note on this, I noticed that using the MagSafe option did cause my phone to get pretty warm to the touch, but not to the point of it being uncomfortable.Second option is USB-C (which also doubles acts as the In/Out for charging the pack). My phone went from 20% to full in about an hour and a half, again while only draining around 50% of the pack.Third option is USB-A, which I did NOT test out, given my devices and cables do not utilize it, and I think Anker just included this more the legacy devices. All in all, I love this item and it goes with me everywhere. It has some nice little touches like pass-through charging (allows you to charge the battery pack while charging a device at the same time), a pretty solid yet simple, somewhat softer plastic construction, and a kickstand. I did encounter one issue with the kickstand though. When a phone is attached and the pack is in a landscape "angle", the stand is not very sturdy and tends to close on itself. It works best when the battery pack is in more of a portrait angle and the phone in landscape (again, this changes based on what device is attached to it. The iPhone 13 ProMax is a pretty heavy phone, which might have attributed to this behavior) . And for the last little touch, multiple devices can be charged at the same time!I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a clean looking, well functioning spare battery pack.
