An excellent and slim hub ...

Got this one today, pleasantly surprised. Previously, I had purchased a more expensive ORICO hub, that was faulty and had to be sent back. I decided to get this, a bit cheaper version without SD Card readers. This one, in a small compact factor, has everything I need, USB-A ports, Ethernet, HDMI, and most importantly a USB-C data port. That is something a person needs when they have an M1 Macbook Pro that only has 2 thunderbolt 3 ports. So I can charge my laptop with it, have all my ports, and at the same time, I can have a spare USB-C data port that can be used for example for an audio interface that has a USB-C connection.I tested each port, and they work as intended, 1080p is supported on HDMI at 120Hz. It's not too bulky and comes with a nice carry pouch. It does heat up, as any USB-C hub when power flows through it, but if you look at the photos, on full load, it is still comfortably touchable. So far so good, I am pleased.Thinking of investing in some velcro strips to mount it to the back of the laptop, time will tell how it will last.I can definitely recommend it for new M1 Mac owners, whether Air or Pro.

Excellent USB hub! I've been using Anker products for some time now but this is my first Anker-made USB hub. I have a VAVA USB hub I was using previously but it would periodically lose power despite being connected properly so I've stopped using it for some time now. I've been using this Anker one for a few weeks now and it works perfectly. No such losses in power. Also, it's pretty sleek looking and comes with a little pouch for storage during travel. The hub fits nicely into my laptop sleeve so I can easily take it with me whenever I go. I've also not noticed it getting very hot despite the warning from Anker, but then again, I only using the HDMI and two USB ports on it. Lastly, it also looks very sleek and sturdy, so I'm confident it's going to last a long time.

If you attach a 65 watt USB-C charger, it will pass 53 watts to the computer for charging, so your laptop will still charge very fast while you have other devices attached to the hub.You get two USB 3.0 ports for older devices such as flash drives, an HDMI port that supports 4K up to 30Hz, a 1Gbps Ethernet port, and a regular USB-C port. Great Steam Deck dock
30 October 2023

I bought this as a cheaper alternative to the Steam Deck dock, and it works great. Unfortunately, I can't speak on freesync support. Nonetheless, this is a bit more portable than the official dock. Finally, Valve has sorted out docking and streaming issues in the latest update.

Great expansion adapter!
19 November 2020

Bought this adapter as I needed a hard wired network connection for a MacBook Air 2019. I required one that would pass-through power so the laptop could be charged at the same time. The adapter performs very well! Using the charger that came with the MacBook Air, I was able to charge my laptop while having a wired network connection and have a 2nd display via the HDMI output. Unlike some other reviewers, I found there to be zero noticeable lag on the 2nd display. The adapter gets a little warm, but no more than a mobile phone would while charging. I was using the 29W Apple charger that came with the laptop, so I would expect if using a higher wattage charger, the adapter would be much warmer - like other reviewers have experienced.Overall, I'm very happy with it. ... MoreBought this adapter as I needed a hard wired network connection for a MacBook Air 2019. Quality, solid USB C hub
6 October 2020

I have had many Anker products over the years and have learned to rely on their quality of products, they haven't disappointed me yet. This is another great example of a quality product. For the size of this hub, it is heavy, it doesn't feel like a cheap plastic body, this feels solid, like something that will withstand many time falling out of a bag and hitting the tile or concrete floor and not chipping, cracking or getting a dent. The transfer speeds for both USB A and USB C are fast, and HDMI works great, even works with Samsung Dex on Samsung phones and Samsung tablets, that is not something that is common among all USB C hubs. It does have warnings on the hub that it won't power using the USB A port, and HDMI is not available using USB C to HDMI which is fine. ... MoreI have had many Anker products over the years and have learned to rely on their quality of products, they haven't disappointed me yet. Really quite good, all functions worked with XPS 13 9360
16 September 2020

I had intended to buy the previous iteration of this but saw many reviews that indicated flaky performance of both the ethernet port and the HDMI port. Happy to report that this iteration of the product has been rock solid for me on an XPS 13, which is a few years old now and probably doesn't have the latest USB C tech/drivers . All the ports of this worked for me and the PD passthrough worked really well also. Kind of the perfect device for a USB C laptop. It also seems to be working well with a Galaxy S9.The build quality is very, very good. Aluminum with some heft to it. Has a carrying case as well which seems to be good for keeping it safe from scratches.Overall a very good product so far, will report back if any longevity problems.

I tossed this into my bag on a whim and it ended up saving movie night. Long story short we weren't able to stream a movie and the only device with movies downloaded was a phone. This allowed me to connect the phone to the projector and play a movie. Absolutely fantastic! This is one of the smaller USB C hubs i've used. It's longer and thinner, something like the size of a thick permanent marker. It also comes with a fabric sleeve to protect the ports. It stays reasonably cool when in use and has plenty of space between ports. This is a fantastic mini dock that is perfectly sized to always have with you.**Of note, this won't work on every phone - your device does need to support display out over USB C. My Nokia 7.2 wouldn't show anything on screen when using this but the LG G7 which had the movie on it worked perfectly.

Top Notch USB-C Hub - Trust Anker!
16 September 2020

In recent times, as I try to convert to more and more USB-C based devices (laptop and tablet, mostly), I’ve been searching far and wide for just the right USB-C hub. It’s tougher than you might think - especially at the “Affordable” end of the pool. Why do you need a USB-C Hub?When you go to a device that is primarily or entirely USB-C based, you quickly find out that the “ubiquitous” port isn’t nearly as frequently encountered as you might like. Few monitors or projectors natively support USB-C, only a handful of external storage devices do (And they’re more expensive) and of course finding internet connections with USB-C endpoints might as well be the golden goose. Few monitors or projectors natively support USB-C, only a handful of external storage devices do (And they’re more expensive) and of course finding internet connections with USB-C endpoints might as well be the golden goose. And even if you have a variety of single purpose dongles, most devices with USB-C only have 1-2 ports, so you quickly run out of ports...especially if the device is also charged via USB-C. So you realize you need a hub. What makes a good hub? This one is a bit of personal preference - in theory, it’s one that is compact and portable, while still delivering the needed power (high enough wattage to charge your device at full speed), and all the ports you need for your purposes, without any extras you don’t that just make it bigger/more expensive. And it shouldn’t get too hot to touch, as some affordable hubs do.So why is this a great hub?My use case is really about portability - what do I need on the go and how small can I get it. And I need at least 60W of power, at least one video out ideally supporting 4K, multiple data ports in USB-A flavor and an Ethernet port for when you have no choice but to plug in...or when you need to configure a wired networking device. This Anker hub meets all those, with 65W power delivery, 4k@30hz HDMI, gigabit Ethernet and 2x USB-A plus 1x USB-C data - and is barely bigger than the Ethernet port itself. It does get a bit warm - the sticker/label warns that it can hit 122F - but not super hot. Basically, it checks all the boxes. What might make it better?Anker’s already working on a new series but off the top of my head...4k@60z HDMI (this would be mostly for gaming - for desktop use and movies, 30hz is fine), one more USB-A port, maybe 100W PD for those with MacBook Pros. But to be honest, it’s really good as is unless you need that last bit of power.

Using with Thinkpad X1 G6. Works perfectly. This is slim and small form factor hub which does quite well at many different things. I have it charging my laptop, a GL-iNet Beryl (GL-MT1300) travel router via USB C PD, two iphones via USB 3.0 ports, and connected ethernet. Haven't needed to use the HDMI port, and could have done without it in favor of an extra USB C or sd/micro sd reader. Would have preferred that over the HDMI port (like the CableMatters 7-1); otherwise, I'm very happy with the performance of another great Anker product. I have not experienced any overheating or heat issues with the hub. I didn't see power to my laptop cutting off during that time either.
