This did not have any cheese flavor. It was just very bland macaroni. I gave it 2 stars vs 1 because it didn’t taste awful to the point I had to spit it out like some “cheese alternatives” I’ve had before. Next time I’ll just make my own macaroni and cheese by using lactose free cheese and lactose free milk.

Since I went dairy free last year, it's been frustrating to miss out on cheesy goodness. Just tried Annie's Vegan Mac. Oh my gosh - it's delicious! Very close to the old fashioned blue box kind I grew up with, and I actually like the milder cheese flavor. I have some liquid dairy free cheese that I might add next time to give it a two-cheese flavor. Overall, though - easy to prepare, easy to digest, and taste that definitely feels like comfort food to me.

I did not expect this to be so good! It is so easy to prepare and I did not expect it to be so creamy! The packaging is plastic free, which made me really happy to see. I think if you add a little bit of nootch it will really lift the taste, but even without it was so delish. I made it with soy milk and a bit of vegan butter, but you can add any type of plant milk. Ingredients are organic which is a plus.I wish the noodles themselves were a bit bigger, but I am amazing how much mac and cheese one box gives. One box is enough for two people, even though the size appears smaller.

So I had bought this box of mac & cheese with the hopes of experiencing an amazing alternative to the traditional version we all know and love. I've been dabbling with veganism and this looked like a great option. Now I can't for sure say it was entirely the product, but I felt like the taste lacked flavor and substance. Now that could always be because of the ingredients I did or did not use (using soy milk and no butter substitute) - but nonetheless it was just kinda "blah".I doubt I'll purchase it again, but if it was a freebie I'd probably give it another whirl. And I still think Annie's is the bees knees though and love what they're doing there.
My favorite vegan mac is Chao, but it's wildly expensive so I bought a bunch of alternatives and this was the winner. It's easy to find, relatively inexpensive, and tastes really good--even my husband and kids like it and they don't avoid dairy. It's not exactly like Kraft, but I wouldn't expect it to be. I add salt to taste, but I used to do that with Kraft too when I was able to eat it. Definitely give this a try.
Since going vegan I’ve been dying for some good Mac and cheese. This satisfied my craving. I didn’t use plant based milk or butter, just left a little water and mixed with cheese packet. Tasted very similar to Kraft to me. No weird smells or textures like some other vegan Mac I’ve tried. Could be a little more cheddary tasting but overall it gets my recommendation!
The flavor is really not terrible and even the smell is ok (doesn’t have the rubber smell of daiya Mac n cheese). However my stomach reacts to this the same way it used to react to dairy. Don’t try this on a day when you’re going to to be running errands, wait and see if you might need to run to the bathroom. Idk what is causing this digestive reaction but I was very disappointed. I also get a low grade nausea after. The ‘vegan cheese’ options have dwindled down a lot at my local target and unfortunately what’s left is not what I would consider the best. Why must it be this way??
I got this on a whim with an order and have purchased it seveal times since. I'm in a dairy free and soy free household and it's always nice to find a product that's conveinient and safe. The cheesiness is very cheddar leaning and nice. I believe the first time I had it was plain, but since we've added roasted broccoli and mushrooms and that was great too. Annie knows what's up.
very good! just use unsweet orginal almond milk, or just any vegan milk without sweetness lol. tastes just like the real deal. i also think it’s large enough for a family of 4! the only thing is it could be cheesier, but other than that this is it! goodles “vegan is believing” is my 2nd go to vegan mac.
