This is the fourth UPS I've had. All my previous ones work out of the box with proper accessories. This is the only one that surprised me with a question: how this product is allowed to sell in Australia? 1) For power input, It doesn't even come with a power cable to connect to the main power !! 2) For power outputs, it doesn't have any Australia 3-pin output sockets. All it has are four IEC 320 C13 female sockets, which means you can't connect your device directly to it but have to buy some converter cables. What a joke! 3) Not a smart device as it advertises. It has a serial (RS-232) port, you will not be able to communicate with and control the PC in case of a power outage (i.e. shut the system down gracefully when the unit senses a power outage) until you buy a ... MoreThis is the fourth UPS I've had. Avoid this product as much as you can!

Can't speak for the longevity of this item, only installed a month before writing this review, but overall satisfied with the product. Decided to buy the OEM exact replacement battery for two APC BackUPS that finally quit charging after several years, (long after the product had been end-of-lifed by APC,) so if their replacements are anything like the original batteries, great value for cost. And cost for OEM was within a couple dollars of generics, a difference offset by making adapters to fit APC polarized wiring onto the generic battery terminals so it was a no brainer to get what works instead of what might work after modification :)

Fits perfectly and straight forward to install. I do think these OEM batteries are much more expensive than they need to be. You either have to buy a replacement battery or throw away a unit that for the most part does not age when used indoors. I have been noticing that APC is now using a new strategy where the newer units are not intended to have battery replacements. I suggest you only buy these units when they go on sale.

I bought 2 of these for a Tripp Lite Smart1500LCD UPS purchased originally from home essentials direct in 2013, that was shutting off with the slightest power hiccup, with <20% load. Forget about a self-test - unit would dump...This pair is the third set since UPS purchase... original OEM batteries lasted about 4 years, cheap off-brand replacements barely lasted 3.I was surprised to find Tripp Lite recommended RBC-2, an older standard APC size... they are a snug fit, but work in the UPS.Note that APC RBC 110 is a snick bigger both in physical and current size, and I suspect that both the UPS battery compartment AND the charging circuit would have issues.Bottom line, UPS now passes self-test, passes the "unplug the UPS input power" test [keeps running], and now ... MoreI bought 2 of these for a Tripp Lite Smart1500LCD UPS purchased originally from home essentials direct in 2013, that was shutting off with the slightest power hiccup, with <20% load. I have had old UPS which battery is old and gone. I just have used this UPS for extension cord, but I decided to buy new battery because of kids' zoom classes. Sometimes, short power outage happens, and I needed to UPS. Now my kids don't have any problem under this short power outage.
I received a genuine APC battery and it was near fully charged (as expected). In the past I had "saved a few bucks" by buying non-APC replacement batteries, but they NEVER have lasted as long as the APC branded ones. I would be lucky to get a year or two out of the non-APC's batts, but I have always gotten 3 to 5 years from the APC's. I have been using APC UPS's for many years in my work and at home and I have learned my lesson ... stick with genuine APC batteries, the slight cost increase is worth it in my book.
Instead of buying a new UPS/unit I bought this battery, and it worked. Got unit for 6 bucks with dead battery, and this battery a year or so ago, 10 mins install (google directions for your unit type/model) and presto it was back working. Have had many power failures since, either breakers with overloading AMPS on this circuit, or system outages and this unit allows me to wrap up what I'm doing (not to say autosave isn't a good thing on a computer) and fix the problem, or wait and reboot when power comes on. Overall, worked but was costly.
One day we were greeted by a beeping noise from our APS BE500R UPS. I was not sure when the last time I replaced the battery in it so I guessed that the beeping was because the battery was old and no longer taking a charge. The last time I replaced the battery it was with a third party (non-APC) battery. I was pleased to find home essentials direct had APC branded batteries that were within a few dollars of the third party batteries. Years ago the APC batteries cost about twice the price of the third party batteries. Also, this battery has the correct width terminals for our UPS compared to the slightly narrower terminals of the previous battery. After installing the new battery and letting it charge for a day I plugged the computer into battery backup outlet of the UPS and no more beeping. I can't tell yet what the battery life will be but I would expect it will last me at least as long as the last battery. One thing I did this time was put a note on the battery cover of the UPS indicating the date I installed the new battery. I wish I had done that last time so I could have known how long that bettery lasted. Anyway, I'm glad this battery fixed the beeping and that it wasn't a problem with the UPS itself. Happy with this purchase.
There's not a heck of a lot to say about this replacement battery. It is, or at least appears to be made by APC, which was important to me. I unpacked it, installed it in my APC UPS that had a battery that had long since died, and now the UPS is working again. It definitely makes sense to purchase a replacement battery as opposed to purchasing an entire new UPS. In my case this battery was less than half the price of what the same model new UPS would have cost.If for any reason this replacement battery doesn't have the longevity I expect that it will I will come back and update this review, but I do not anticipate having any problems.I hope you found this review helpful. the original battery for my APC UPS was a Panasonic made in USA with power ratings on the battery. This one is dimensionally identical and with the same connections including the shorting protector on the + connector. I got this to revive my 20 year old UPS that I did not use because power was reliable in California. Today California electric power is getting more unreliable, so the replacement battery is an inexpensive way for my computer to ride through a power failure.
