Reliable product which unlike some other brands neutralizes chloramine as well as chlorine. This size bottle lasts me over 12 months for a 160 litre tank and a 54 litre tank. Very economical.

Been using this product for years now and it's done its job just fine for my small tanks i just fill up a 5 gallon bucket same temperature as the tank water and i add a cupful to it. For my large tank I fill it with the Python no spill clean and fill hooks up directly to the tap and i add the Api to the tank as the water goes in. I found that it took a full minute to fill a 5 gallon bucket so as the water is going in the tank im watching a timer and every minute I add a cupful which is a little overkill but I'd rather be safe than sorry because sometimes the water treatment will add extra chlorine to the water. The quality & price of this product is hard to beat! I use it weekly during water changes to ensure my tap water is safe for my cichlids. Its a product Ill always keep on hand.

I have kept fish tanks for more than 10 years now and I know how Chlorine, Flouride, and Chloramine are just some of the chemicals that hurt fish, aquatic plants, and the microorganisms present in the tank. Buying RO water for fishes on every water change is not an economical solution. This is when the API Stress coat comes to the rescue. I have been using this product for more than 5 years now and I absolutely recommend this. Please treat the tap water with this and increase the lifespan of your tank. I hope this is helpful :)
I hear everyone swear by prime. But you know what? I like using my stress coat...I especially like the fact that it has aloe in it to help keep the fishes slime coat nice. I have used prime before...but unless you have a 150+ gallon tank that you need to do water changes on, stress coat is the one for me.
I took on a ragged betta fish a few weeks before Christmas and had to start from scratch with his tank. so i purchased this and a few other water conditioners and medicines for bettas from Home Essentials Direct. This has really helped condition the water to be safe for my betta and I think it has also been helpful in making his fin rot go away and keeping him happy and healthy. When i got him, his fins were torn and rotting. he had very little energy. now he swims all over the place and his fins look great. Highly recommend!
I've been using this regularly in my freshwater tanks since fall of 1999 without fail or any issues. I highly recommend it to keep your fish healthy and safe in tap water. Use it regularly to remove chlorine from your tank when first filling up the tank, when during water changes and when adding fish to your tanks. Highly recommend.
My betta ended up tearing his fins on some driftwood I had in the tank (Ive removed it since). He was very lethargic and I was afraid that he wasnt going to make it so I took to the internet to figure out what I could do. A combination of this and aquarium salt has helped him have a complete recovery. Hes in a 5-gallon and sometimes that makes it hard to judge how much of something to put in. This product states that you can put in extra if youre trying to help damaged fins which took a lot of the stress out of worrying about overdosing the tank. Please also note that this isnt a water conditioner, you will need to add that separately. I plan to continue the use of this product in weekly tank maintenance.
This is cost effective and offers a variety of sizes, so with whatever you need or want to purchase at a time. I used this recently to treat my hermit crabs for mites. I gave them each a couple baths on a couple different days, and they seemed to enjoy it. It is supposed to be a gentler way to get the mites to detach without harming the hermit crabs. Plus, I've heard this can even be used to help them have a better molt. So, I may use it every so often. I highly recommend this product. My crabs have been happy and thriving ever since. :)
This product is amazing. I use this in my salt and freshwater aquariums and after years of use, I have nothing but praise. I always add this when making water changes, adding new fish, when my fish seems stressed, water changes and when my fish don't play nice and someone gets nipped. Works fast and the next day my aquariums are so much livelier.
