I use this product when I travel. My fishes bowl stays clean and fresh throughout the few days I'm gone. This product is and no muss no fuss type product. Recommend to use when traveling for short periods of time.

I bought the 3 day 4 pack of these. I have two tanks and was going to be gone for 4 days. My family was going to be with the tanks but couldn't remember to feed them daily. When we got back 4 days after i put them in they still had atleast another day left.I put one in my 1.5 gallon tank with my betta and another in my 10 gallon tank with my glofish and betta. They are all happy and healthy and there is still some left.

I purchased this item for vacationing purposes. I had looked at automatic dispensers but was a little hesitant based on some reviews. I must admit I was skeptical with this purchase as well but had discussed the product with a local pet store owner and this item was recommended as a good choice. I had read where some had problems with water cloudiness and/or dissolving problems but I had neither problem occur. I do have an aerator in my 15 gallon tank and did do a partial water change prior to its use. Perhaps these two factors helped. Once home from vacationing, my water was as clear and when we left and the pyramid had dissolved proportionately to the days we were gone. My fish were healthy on our return and will use this product again.

I used this product for my saltwater tank during my week vacation. I came home thinking my fish would be gone but low and behold they were all still healthy and alive from eating off the feeder.
I don’t know yet. I haven’t used just yet. Seems ideal but I’m worried fish may over feed on it and die, or the tank will be a mess when I get back from travelling. I guess we will see. I haven’t read bad reviews mentioning that yet.
I use them for extra food while I'm away. I have someone feed my fish while on trips. I believe that the feeding blocks help keep the water clear. The food they contain are large pieces, about 1/8 " in diameter. I have a plecostomus that will eat all the chunks as they appear leaving a hole in the food block. It will look like Swiss cheese after it gets done. It takes about a day for the block to dissolve past the holes to expose more food chunks then the plecostomus jumps back on the food block. I believe they need to put in smaller pieces of food for those of us with smaller fish. Maybe the food breaks down as its released into the water to feed all the fish, for those who do not have a food hog.Today, I will take a food block and put it in a large bowl of water, ... MoreI use them for extra food while I'm away. After that time I will return and adjust my review.
I use these for calcium supplements for my mystery snails. They love them and the blocks give them the extra calcium needed for shell growth. My shrimp also benefit from theses. These do NOT cloud my water or cause any issues what-so-ever. I always have one or two of these in my tanks!
This product is good for your fish when you go out of town for a week
Have been using these feeders for years now. Have no problem with the fishes what so ever. They work great for those weekend or week vacations. Will continue to use them.
We have 7 goldfish in our mule's 100 gallon water tank. I would feed them flakes every afternoon when I went out to feed the mules. I fretted about what to do while on vacation. Ordered the white pyramid feed blocks and put on in the water trough a couple of days before we left. When we got back 6 days later, yes, they were happy to see me but none died and all appeared healthy and fat and content. No room to add comment for the "cons". The water got a little "oily" looking, but the info about the pyramid states it needs to be used in filtered and aerated water. The mule's water trough is not filtered and the only aeration it gets is when 4 mules drink from it, it has a float that automatically adds water, thus aeration.
