Appetito 5L Compost Bin - White

l was disappointed there was nothing in the bin. Was expecting a plastic bucket inside. Like previous bins Ive had. There were marks/ crack of side of bin. Wondering if it was a return. Would no buy again. Slow postage and l buy often from catch.

Love this item! I’ve a new kitchen so I wanted something nice (was going to put under the sink but it has made it’s way to the bench) Not a true white but can live with that. Having the carbon filter to eliminate the smell is an asset. Only regret was not ordering extra filters!

Cracked interior powder coating

I love the look of this compost bin and it's a nice size for the kitchen counter top, however after the very first use the coating on the inside has cracked and started to peel. Admittedly we did not use a compostable bag in it the first use as we hadn't purchased any at that point, but nevertheless I don't think it should crack and peel after a couple days of use. Continuing to use now with compost bag and hoping no more deterioration!

Gorgeous little bin

I love this little compost bin! It's very attractive and looks lovely sitting by my sink. It's the perfect size for me as a single person household. It holds quite a bit and I don't have to empty it every day. I find the carbon filter under the lid works well in stopping odour and keeps things like banana skins which can get a bit whiffy fresh and odourless for a few days. I do use freezer type bags to line it as i prefer to keep it clean inside and haven't tried it without a liner. If it had come with an extra replacement carbon filter I would have given it Five Stars.

Great bin - no smell. Recommended.

My compost bin always seems to end up sitting on the counter top as I seem to always be cutting fruit and veg so need it handy. This little bin looks great so I’m happy for it to be so visible and unlike every other bin I’ve had - it doesn’t smell! The carbon filter is clearly effective. Very impressed and highly recommended.

Great little compost bin!

This is a great little bin - I am very happy with it - now that I have made one improvement.I use the compostable bags, but they looked ugly hanging over the edge. I found a piece of elastic the same colour as the bin and am now using that to hide the bag overlap. It looks so much better.The carbon filters work really well - I haven't had any fruit flies hanging around the bin at all, even when it has over-ripe banana in it. (I was going to add a photo but I can't upload it for some reason).

This is the best kitchen compost bin we have tried. Great size, easy to clean, no odours, stylish doesn't just look like a bucket in your kitchen.

Looks great and no smell

Very sturdy unit. Looks great in the kitchen, holds on adverage at least 2 weeks of peelings, and the best thing of all there is no odour of decomposing vegetables all through this time. Excellent product!

Partly impractical lid

This bin ticked all my boxes (no odour, no mess, easy-operate lid and stylish design), however recently we had a maggot infestation in it (our bad). Eggs and pupas settled in the larger charcoal filter (had to be thrown away, but that's a small waste/manageable cost), but they also ended up in the narrow slit between the two metal parts of the lid, making it impossible to dislodge them. Due to the lid design the slit is impossible to reach properly (whether with tools or water) and the lid parts couldn‚Äôt be taken apart no matter how hard I tried.The Apetito customer rep (donaldson.com.au) confirmed that the lid can't be taken apart and says the issue is not due to a design fault. Perfect kitchen bench compost bin

I love this compost bin. Perfect size for kitchen bench. Looks stylish and lid lifts off effortlessly but seals to not let smells out.
