This has the M1 chip and is blasting fast when it works correctly.The issue is that software wise this has been a disappointing experience.Between my M1 Mac book pro and this iPad I am not impressed with the stability of the operating system software.If you need an iPad for work it's good for being an iPad, but considering I have to put in my password every time I install an app and then watch the install stall out only to then fail is irritating. Yes I changed the setting to not requiring a password in system settings. That didn't change the reality and no this iPad isn't managed by a business that forces a set of policies. I don't think it will ever run out of ram or cpu power. It just needs better firmware/os. Putting Mac os on this thing would make it better. If it ran windows 11 arm I'd recommend them to everyone.

The item was garbage. Wouldn't turn on straight out of the box. Tried returning it and was told they couldn't because it was linked to an account. Impossible since it wouldn't even turn on. I went to an Apple store to find out it was linked to an account from out of the country. I then went back to best buy to try return it, and they said they've had this same problem before. But still said they wouldn't let me return it because it was locked to an account. So I went back to Apple and thankfully they were helpful and were able to deactivate the account. I was then able to return the item and then go back to the Apple store and buy a real(new) ipad pro. I'm officially done with best buys. I absolutely love my iPad Pro 11 inch 3rd generation 256gb with the M1 chip. I love using this iPad for streaming, photo slideshows, and especially note taking for college. I traded in my 256gb iPad Mini 6 for the iPad Pro 11 inch 3rd gen because I started feeling like my iPad Mini was way too small for note taking, amazing for portability though, but I totally love having the 2.7 inch wider screen difference than having a mini sized iPad. If you’re deciding between an M1 chip iPad Air 256gb or an M1 chip iPad Pro 256gb whether it be the 11 inch or 12.9 inch model, trust me when I say this, paying the extra $50-$150 for the Pro model iPad is absolutely worth it especially if you’re trading in a slightly older iPad like I did that has a $300+ trade in value. Also, as far as a weight comparison goes, compared to the iPad Mini 6, even though the iPad Mini 6 is light as a feather, the Pro model iPad is literally only a 0.3-0.5 pound heavier than the iPad Mini 6, but I don’t feel the weight difference between the 2 iPad models at all. One last thing, the Pro model iPad is so much sleeker and thinner and nowhere near as bulky on the bezels as the iPad mini 6 and iPad Air 4/5 are.
I got this iPad for a primary use of graphic design / art & illustration. I got the Apple pen and a keyboard with my purchase. I love the iPad, it’s easy to use and I love the way I can easily share things between my phone & iPad. The Apple pen was a must, in most programs they have a palm rejection when using a pen which makes it easy to be precise and stabilize your hand against the screen. My only problem is I’ve only had it for about a year, and I’m already having issues with the screen turning on & off. Sometimes the screen will turn on but not let me enter in my password / use my Face ID but just sit idle. I even have assistive touch on and when I press home it still won’t trigger the Home Screen to allow me access to the iPad. And other times when I’m done it ...
