Apple has missed the mark on fit since Gen 2

For my ears, they have the best fit without falling out or moving around from jaw movement (talking, smiling, eating). The Gen 3 was particularly bad, and the Pros are merely tolerable with some third-party ear tips. However, the 4th Gen just misses the mark. They're not as bad as the Gen 3 – in fact, they're an improvement. The sound cancellation is quite good when they're positioned right, but they don't stay in that position very long in my ears. Make this short. I’ve owned every generation of AirPods. I know total waste of money. The pros (both generations) although noise cancellation is better. For me at least I can’t stand the rubber tips. These obviously do not have those and the noise cancellation for noises like an airplane engine or maybe a constant hum work really well. Only area they fall short in that department is high pitch things. But that’s as expected. The sound quality in my opinion is noticeably better than the Gen 3’s. Personally if you don’t like the rubber tips on the pros. These are a no brainer and are the best AirPods Apple has offered yet. Spend the extra get the active noise cancellation. You can toggle it on and off if you don’t like it. But better to have and not always want on ... MoreMake this short. I’ve owned every generation of AirPods. I know total waste of money. The controls on the Pros are more robust. The battery life of the Pros is better by about an hour or so. But the AirPods 4 ANC is more comfortable to wear for long periods of time for me. After an hour or so, I find the silicon tips to be a little irritating.I am very happy with the acquisition of my AirPods 4 ANC and I wear them in low volatility noise situations with great delight!

[Rewarded Review] AirPods 4 Hit all the Marks - Exceptional Upgrade!
11 October 2024

I have owned every version of the AirPod product line since their inception. With the exception of the AirPods Pro, I am one of those that have had a hard time getting them to fit in my ears securely. AirPods 4 now fit much better than previous models - and that is significant to me. The sound quality is on par with the AirPods Pro and the while the ANC is not as good as the Pros, they are very effective for “open” buds. I would say that they are about 80% as effective at ANC as the Pros. The AirPods 4 have become my “to go” earbuds - even over the AirPods Pro. They are more comfortable (no more “plugs” in my ears) than the Pros, sound as good, and in most circumstances, the ANC is surprisingly effective. And finally, the battery life is as advertised. A definite buy!!!

[Rewarded Review] Great Upgrade from 2nd Gen Airpods
3 October 2024

If, like me, you were never a fan of Airpods Pro because of the silicone tips, and weren't interested in the 3rd Gen Airpods because they didn't seem that different, THESE might be for you. I picked them up because I wanted to see how the shape, sound, and features were compared to my 2nd Gen Airpods (which I always thought were more than adequate for my everyday needs).Needless to say, I am very happy with my decision. The sound quality on these is amazing. The shape takes a bit of getting used to, but is by no means uncomfortable or at risk of falling out. I was just used to the old school shape that Apple headphones have been forever (including the original Airpods). These are definitely wider and shorter. The controls are awesome, I definitely like pinching vs tapping. And the features (specifically transparancy and the ANC) are what elevate the whole thing to a 100% recommendation from me. I don't think it would be worth getting the 4th Gen here without the ANC.I use Airpods when I mow the lawn, do yardwork, etc. Having ANC while using a lawnmower, or using a leafblower - without those goofy silicone tips - is an absolute game changer in my opinion. So, in closing, if you already have the Pros, you can probably move on, BUT, if you have the 2nd Gen Airpods, and have been waiting for a worth successor/ upgrade, I really think these are it.

This is also in my opinion, the BEST case on the market for these reasons. These buds are COMFORTABLE so long as they fit. I had my girlfriend try these and she said they weren’t great, but I can happily wear these for their entire battery life with no ear fatigue. Finally, these have the best transparency mode of any buds I’ve ever tried (I’ve owned 8 or 9 wireless buds at this point in my life) and it honestly feels like I’m not wearing anything.Negatives:For what these buds are, they’re overpriced for sure. These should be about $150 max.The buds themselves only have 4 hour battery lives, which means if you’re someone who wears buds at work or some other public environment, you’re gonna have to charge em at some point.ANC isn’t great, if you’re in a noisy area, you’re gonna have to turn your music or media up quite a lot to actually drown the noise out. This IS to be expected but it’s still a bit of a downside (still the best “open ear” ANC on the market though).Overall I’d give these an 8/10. They sound pretty good as all airpods have, they’re well built, and they provide a strong package.Personally, I like them more than the AirPods Pro 2 but these are overpriced. If you’re debating on these or the pros 2 and don’t care about price, get the Pros 2, but if you’re looking for a good set of buds WITH AN APPLE DEVICE while also trying to save a buck, these are a great choice. [Rewarded Review] Yes, buy them!

So I'm coming from the Airpod Pro 2's, decided to give these a try because I felt I never got a good fit in my ear with the silicone tips of the pro 2's. These are a complete game changer! Not only do these fit tighter than the pro's ever did, they are actually more comfortable due to the silicone "sealing" and causing pressure. Now, everyone wants to know how transparency and noise cancelation is. Transparency is identical to my pro 2's. Noise cancelation is 90% as good as my pro 2's. There are more reviews coming out weekly on these and they will all say the same, for an open back earpiece these do an outstanding job of getting almost the same sound signature of the pro 2's in every way. For me, no silicone tips, outstanding sounds and battery life, these crushed ... MoreSo I'm coming from the Airpod Pro 2's, decided to give these a try because I felt I never got a good fit in my ear with the silicone tips of the pro 2's.
