AirTag VS. Tile. My wife is better than the AirTag

I thought the AirTag would be better than the Tile because of the sheer size of the network. Lots of people have iPhones very few (at least in comparison) have Tile devices. I mostly misplace my items around my home (i.e. leaving it in the car or the kitchen instead of putting it in one place anytime it is not on my person). So it helps when I can push a button to make a sound to find where I last left it. The AirTag sound is TOO soft and you cannot choose it. I pushed, ‘Play Sound’ and wandered all around my house. I was unable to find it and had to ask my wife where she last saw it in order to retrace my steps to find my wallet.

Great for luggage, vehicles, keys, etc!

I got a pack of four airtags when they came out, but I was a bit skeptical that I’d actually use them. Let me tell you, these things are a LIFESAVER, especially if you travel or you’re a person with ADHD or memory troubles. My work keys are irreplaceable due to the access card on it, losing them would get me in majorly hot water and make my job impossible til resolved. So, I put an airtag in a clip on, glow in the dark case on them. If I can’t find my keys in my bag, I can use my phone to play a chime and find them. Great for peace of mind! I travel several times a year, and put an airtag in my carryon and my checked bag. I could make sure my bag was actually following me city to city and not left behind. given how many bags are being lost right now due to staff ... MoreI got a pack of four airtags when they came out, but I was a bit skeptical that I’d actually use them. Lastly I leave one hidden in my car. It isn’t a gps tracker, but it can give me a location in case I forget which lot I parked in or god forbid, my car gets stolen. The only issue is they’re pretty thick, so forget attaching them to anything flat like an iPad. Even the sticky silicone sleeves didn’t work well and would peel off after a couple months. (The normal “FindMy
” app doesn’t work if the iPad isn’t connected to a network or isn’t turned on, hence the airtag.) I’m back buying an extra. I love that the batteries are replaceable too, it’s been over a year and one of them just alerted me it needed changing soon. I love this product.

I dropped my AirTag somewhere in a small strip mall. And I asked a few stores if they had seen it, but nobody had. For weeks every time I went to the mall, my phone would alert me that my AirTag was looking for me. And I finally went to the app and turned on the locator, which pinpointed it down to just one foot away, which would’ve been behind the counter at Daiso. And I had the app play the chime, and heard it. The employee reached behind the counter and found it. This might be a better story if my lost AirTag had something valuable attached to it, but I’m still very grateful for how efficiently it worked. It was scratched up and looked like it had been kicked around but he still worked and never gave up hope that I would keep looking for him. I’ve named him Odysseus.

Keeps track of your important items
4 February 2023

I love the air tags! I hide them in/on my most valuable albums such as my purse, laptop, and in my car. If you have been robbed of personal items before you know how scary, annoying & violating it is. I love that I can track any item that might “disappear” with a touch of a button. I do suggest hiding these as best as you can (like in your purse lining for instance) give a 1 pack a shot & guaranteed you will be headed back to the store for a 4 pack. Well worth the money

One product, many benefits

Best implementation of a concept thats been around for quite a while now. Conveniently tracks whatever item you attach it to. Leave one in the car so you can locate it if you forget which area of the shopping centre carpark you left it in. Call the police if its location indicates the vehicle has been stolen. The usefulness of this feature is slightly diminished by the fact that iPhone users will be alerted that they are being tracked (anti-stalking) but even if the airtag is found and thrown out of the window, it will still provide useful information to give to the police and increase the chances that the vehicle will be recovered. Simple setup, well thought out functionality whats not to like? Genuine accessories can also be a bit expensive but third party products are available for a little less of your hard-earned $$. Overall, a very good product and due to the security it provides, one that could potentially pay for itself many times over!

One works, one doesn't
5 September 2022

Have two of these. The one IN MY HOUSE works perfectly. The one attached to the lost item does not. The app takes me to the general area where I think I lost it (we agree on that) but then refuses to play a sound or use precise location (although the app says I am "on top" of the tag) so I cannot locate the actual tag amid all the grass and rocks. The tracker in my house has no problem using sound and precise location, so I can assume it is not my phone but the tag. I can't crawl on my hands and knees over 100 square foot area to find this thing.

Peace of mind achieved
24 January 2023

I purchased Apple’a air tag prior to taking our toddler to Disney. We put it in the pockets of his pants/shorts the minute we left our house door just in case he ever got separated from us. It worked really well and I even accidentally washed it while doing laundry not once but twice and it still works perfectly. The only downside is that it isn’t the best user experience for those who use android (we’re a mixed apple and android household), hence the docking of 1 star.

Very good but watch out for minor problem
17 August 2022

The Product is excellent. It works all over the world but if you are landing in a new country and airport you will only get the backing locator map if you can connect to wi fi. So your iPad must have data useable in that foreign country. But it will show that your luggage is near by. Product great but zero stars for the iPhone store and courier they use to deliver. The address that they use is significantly different front that I put on the order. It took an hour to guide the driver from downtown Joburg to my house 18 Kim’s away.

Very useful for protecting your asset
15 February 2022

I have bought a box of 4 from Noel Leeming last year. I installed one in a hidden location inside my toolbox. Unfortunately, my work van was broken into during the labour weekend. I quickly located the stolen toolbox at a pawnshop and called the police for help. Remember, the police in NZ has more than 100 excuses to be poorly performed. Eventually, the police took more than 120 days to get my tools back. During this period, the pawnshop sold some of my expensive tools. I would ring the police 105 every second day until they got my tools back if I knew the outcomes. At last, the Airtag has proven to be very useful to protect your assets.

Works well - for what it is

I have a four pack that I purchased and have been using for several months now. A lot of the low reviews have the same complaints, so you have to understand how it works and what you’re signing up for. These are NOT GPS trackers. They work off of your phone and *if you mark as lost* try using other relays. I have them on my cats. This doesn’t mean I can instantly know where they are at all times. It means I can narrow down which room in the house they’re in, then which corner they’re using to hide. You do have to walk around to grab the signal. Part of this is so they use less energy and the (standard replaceable!!!) battery lasts longer. When they’ve been outside, I’ve used the sound feature to find them under a bush, but they won’t necessarily work if the cats get ... MoreI have a four pack that I purchased and have been using for several months now. Overall, the FindMy feature works more reliably for the AirTags than AirPods, but it’s still a game of hotter/colder. So if you’re looking for something that will help you narrow down where to look for your keys and then play a sound, this could be a good fit. If you want a GPS enabled tracker for your pet, you’re going to have to spend more money and get something else.
