This is the first Apple product I have purchased. I expected top notch quality based on the feedback from people I know with Apple products, and Apple's reputation they have created precedes them.I only switched to an iPad from an Android one for Adobe Fresco and Illustrator and Procreate since none of them are available on the Android platform. The Apple Pencil was a consideration vs. competitors as well, but not a deal breaker as I'm fine with other pens. The first iPad I got had a speck of dust between the glass and screen. It was barely noticeable when the screen was on, but I finally decided to return it because I didn't know if it would create a problem, especially with pressure sensitivity--which that in itself is important for drawing.Best Buy of course ... The associate I got said he had never seen that before. (However, discussion boards are littered with stories of the same, I have now found.)We opened the second iPad right then and there and both looked over the screen. Seemingly now problems. When I got home, I looked at it under brighter lighting and discovered a small scuff. Oh well, I thought. I then tried out the Apple Pencil, and it would not drag smoothly across the screen except in a few small spots. It was almost like hitting fine sandpaper. It wasn't the tip because it's new for one, and two, the smooth and rough spots were in the exact same spots every time.I ultimately decided to keep the one I had and not try again. Partially due to the hassle of it all, and partially because I will always have a glass screen protector on it anyway. (The cheap big box store one I got glides smoothly....go figure.)If Adobe ever brings Illustrator back to Android and brings Fresco over, I will be switching back to my go-to brand. Four cheap one expensive tablet, and 5 phones later, I only ever had an issue with one phone. I'm 2 for 2 with Apple.Search "iPad dust under screen" and "iPad pencil not smooth" or "iPad rough glass" and see what you find before buying, lest you think this is a hoax review. It's not just post-2020 situation stuff either. There are 2019 dated threads and earlier.

When I started using the iPad Air for work that is when my needs changed and my wants.Everything about the iPad Air is great, do not get me wrong. Just that I had the MacBook Air M1, and still do, and Apple silicone in it is great. It made me start to think though, what would the experience be like when having the M1 in an iPad? I ended up taking the iPad Air back just in time and exchanged it for the iPad M1 11 inch.I had the 12.9 iPad Pro 2018 for the longest time, but found myself wanting the smaller 11inch because the size was just right for my needs. The smaller size is just much more portable, I didn’t need the upgraded display nor the extra price tag. After making my exchange, I saw what I had been missing from owning the iPad Air 2020. I do enjoy Face ID over using my fingerprint, especially when I am using the iPad as a desktop computer. I also enjoy gaming on my iPad more now especially the 120z display. Also I use the iPad for work, and with the M1 chip I don’t have to worry about any work I throw at it.I love what Microsoft has done with its apps for the iPad. It’s a world of a difference from what it was like when Microsoft’s office apps were first offered in the App Store. You can now have multiple spreadsheets open now in excel, and that goes for PowerPoint as well. I like their approach used in the navigation bar compared to its desktop cousin version. I feel the menu system in the iPad version is organized better and I can actually find the right tools for what I need to do. Because my work now uses teams, its a breeze to share documents and files over the 24MB. I don’t mind the black bars on my display when using an external monitor, after a while I don’t even notice them.My recommendation, if you are only using the iPad for personal use and you want to use the updated Magic accessories and slightly bigger screen I would buy the Air. However, if you want a more capable, slightly even bigger screen, faster and you plan on using the Microsoft Office suite a lot, then I would buy the Pro; and of course if you plan on being a content creator or influencer on YouTube ;)

This is easily a 5-star device. Im a power user so I got the fully decked out iPad air 4. I dont necesarily find the new one to be that significant of an upgrade so I went ahead and just grabbed the last gen model. Battery life is mediocore at best (for me anyways). I do a lot navigation, heavy gaming and photo editing. I expect 3-4 more years of software updates which is still pretty good. Screen is great (color wise) for editing photos in lightroom and gaming is also great thanks to the A14 chip. I play demanding games and I never see it struggle at all! Granted, it may not be as fast as the M1 like what the big name youtubers are bragging but it is still a very capable chip. I decided it was time to upgrade the old iPad Mini 4 which I purchased back in mid 2017. The IPM4 has been a great ownership experience so there was no doubt I was going to stay with Apple. This time I decided to go with a larger screen.Even though the iPad 5 was released in March 2022, I purchased the iPad Air 4th Gen a month later in April 2022. Great Purchase, love it, use it all the time. I know Samsung has improved as far as the length of time which they support and provide updates for their tablets, but after dealing with Samsung's customer support a few years ago regarding a previous Samsung Tablet, I won't make the same mistake twice. I'm sticking with iPads.Go with what works for you, it's as simple as that.
We've had iPhones for years and been happy with them. And have briefly used the kids' iPads who swear by them. An incentive to buy one ourselves was brought about by our frequent skyping with family back east previously done on the phone. What a world of difference. We decided on the Air model with 64GB over the regular iPad 10.2-inch because it's noticeably thinner, the screen is bigger and some of the internals, etc are a big cut above. The iPad Air has been called the Pro-Light and it essentially is from our comparisons in the store. 64GB is more than enough storage space unless you're dropping tons of pictures, videos, movies, apps and whatnot on the thing. We're not. This device is a delight; easy to use, already loaded with stuff/apps right out of the box, fast, great graphics, decent camera, terrific HD screen and sound, responsive, connects seamlessly to wifi, and syncs nicely with the iPhone if you have one and want to do that. You can use wireless earbuds of course, and your wired will work also but a small $10 jack adapter is needed for the lightning size wire.So far we have zero complaints. We didn't buy a keyboard or pencil, only a nice high-end cover-case. But finger action on-screen as with your phone is direct, clean, effortless as it is with a phone. Highly recommended device.
I'LL TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT MY FIRST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE IN THE STORE. I PURCHASED THE PRODUCT (I PAD) AS A BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR MY 8 YEAR OLD SON ON NOVEMBER 5, 2023, WITH DELIVERY SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 8, 2023. SO UNTIL HERE, ONLY PRAISES FOR THE COMPANY, BUT WHEN I RECEIVED THE IPAD, WAS IN A CARDBOARD PACKAGING AND PACKED IN BUBBLE PLASTIC, THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT BOX WAS NOT SENT WITH THE EQUIPMENT AND NOR WAS THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR IT. I BELIEVE THAT THE POWER CORD IS NOT ORIGINAL, AS IT COMES IN BLACK. WHEN MY SON SAW HIS BIRTHDAY PRESENT IN THAT SITUATION, INSTEAD OF SMILING AND THANKING, HE STARTED CRYING DUE TO THE CONDITION OF THE PACKAGING. I DO NOT INTEND TO RETURN THE PRODUCT AS IT DOES NOT PRESENT MARKS OF USE AND MY SON HAS ALREADY ADAPTED TO IT. ... MoreI'LL TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT MY FIRST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE IN THE STORE. I purchased the iPad Air 4 to replace my aging "regular" iPad 7th generation model. Although my original iPad suited my needs when purchased I soon outgrew its limited storage and subpar camera setup. This isn't a complaint but rather just shows how my needs evolved.I originally thought about getting the 11" iPad Pro but Best Buy had this iPad Air on sale (saving me over $200 off what would've been required for the Pro purchase). Since I got this home and put into the protective Otterbox case I have been amazed at the speed and versatility of the device.Although this 4th generation does not have the whiz/bang features like Face ID or the M1 processor, it has thus far handled everything I've thrown at it. There is only one downside to not purchasing the Pro model - this iPad Air 4th generation's fully laminated display only goes to 60 HZ refresh rate. The Pro has variable refresh rate up to 120HZ.Otherwise I have loved using this iPad and often take it out instead of reaching for my Macbook Pro. It's a fantastic device upon which to consume media (Youtube, etc.) as well as surfing the web, working in e-mail, or even sitting quietly to read a book.So if you're considering this iPad Air I would encourage doing so. You won't be disappointed as it will handle anything you throw at it. Plus the 5th generation iPad Air has moved to the M1 processor (not a big deal for me). This means you should be able to find this 4th generation at a discount.Grab one today - I promise you won't be disappointed. Just make sure to place in a nice protective case. I use the Otterbox Pro and then added my own Zagg screen protector. For all but the most demanding applications, this 4th generation iPad Air is essentially a laptop replacement.
Pretty much exactly like if I were to buy it from apple. There is a small indent on the side and some scratches on the screen but after putting on the screen protector I could barely notice. I don’t really mind the indent either since it is so small. Although sadly the ipad does not come in the original apple box. The ipad works perfectly fine and came packaged really well. I love the color and it looks exactly how I imagined it.After having it for almost a week I can say that you can definitely use this all day and it be at 20% at the end. I typically use it at work a lot and at home to watch movies and catch up on tv shows. The battery life on this ipad is crazy and I am very happy about how long it lasts.Procreate is also suitable on this ipad and is great ...
