I have used multiple tablets from both Apple and Samsung and each of my two my children have the previous version of the 12.9 inch iPad Pro. The previous version is amazing. This newest version is amazingly amazing in every way. The cameras are better. The interaction between the 2nd generation Apple pencil and the iPad is appreciably better. The display is beautiful. The speed is greater than imagined. Every function is instantaneous. The sound has both greater volume and higher quality. While still waiting for the separately ordered case to arrive, my cat slid it off a table and it survived a three-foot drop without even the slightest scratch. I know that laptops will always have an edge because they have more physical space for the installation of components. ... Great iPad, as expected. It's large, but feels lightweight when you go without a case/folio. I was a bit concerned that it might not sit flat on my desk stand (used for creative work) due to the camera bump, but it's actually super minimal in comparison to any recent iPhone.Great screen, though you do get a bit of dimmign at the edges due to the micro-LED technique used for backlighting. That, and you wont really get the full color spectrum unless you're viewing specifically-coded videos and movies. But, still, this is a premium tablet with a fantastic looking screen. It's very responsive and smooth thanks to the 120-hz refresh rate. I love using Apple Pencil 2 on this. It's hard to beat an iPad for overall design and a well considered experience.

I bought an Ipad pro, hoping I could replace my existing Laptop and have the features of the Ipad as well. Mauro Vallego Jr. in the Dallas Store helped me with the transaction along with helping me try to make the transition. I conduct business on my computer, so I need the functionality of Word and Excel. I also use PPT as I present a lot. I love the IPad Pro, but in the end it simply was not funcional enough in the business applications to work. As an alternative, Mauro put me into the Lenova IdeaPad, which has all the business functionality I need along with the touch screen and tablet applications when I need to. I can't say enough about Mauro. When I came in, I had an awful experience at the Apple store. They didn't know enough about their product nor were they ... I bought this iPad to replace my iPad Air, which I had bought about 2 and 1/2 years prior. I was between getting this or and MacBook since I originally felt like I needed a computer for handling things a little more “officially.” There’s just something about the difference between handling important purchases, emails, and workflows on a computer vs a iPad. I thought a computer was the right move until I started to look closer at the 12.9-Inch IPad Pro. I just love the convenience of an iPad, and I felt like getting the iPad Pro could possibly give me the best of both worlds. It could be a considerable upgrade from my iPad Air and still be powerful enough to make me feel superior in control, and confident handling more important things on it (more multi tasking, ... I just love the convenience of an iPad, and I felt like getting the iPad Pro could possibly give me the best of both worlds. It could be a considerable upgrade from my iPad Air and still be powerful enough to make me feel superior in control, and confident handling more important things on it (more multi tasking, bigger/brighter screen, mouse capabilities, etc.) In short, I was right. This iPad Pro 12.9-inch has been exactly what I needed. I am so glad I didn’t jumper over to a MacBook (even though I always loved them). This iPad is so powerful with the M2 chip and the display, especially with pro motion, is very easy on the eyes and everything you need. I paired the iPad with a Logitech pro keyboard and this package is fantastic. I love stage manager on this iPad as well, something that iPad Air didn’t have. The ability to have multiple apps open so I can jump around and write up documents is so awesome and it’s about to get even better with this coming Ipad OS update. All in all, this iPad is phenomenal! If you are somewhere on the fence like I was with those ideas, pull the trigger on this iPad. MacBook’s definitely have their place but the IPad Pro 12.9 inch is really narrowing the gap. If you want the convenience of iPad but the power and “official” feel of a laptop in your workflows, the Ipad 12.9 Pro might just be perfect for you.
From a performance perspective, the iPad M2 is the gold standard of processing heavy work loads, multi-tasking, rendering, etc. while still operating smoothly/without lag. That being said, for as powerful and as impressive the iPad is, iOS severely limits the utilization of such powerful hardware. Nearly every app for the iPad is optimized for a tablet aka tons of features that this iPad is clearly capable of handling are removed. They did recently release Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro to the iPad in their full versions which is a step in the right direction, but truth be told if you're purchasing for creative reasons, I'd use the money on a Macbook Pro (assuming you don't have one) to get the full capabilities from both a software and hardware front.Lastly, this ... It doesn't happen immediately, and still runs smoothly but Adobe is incapable of producing a software that is efficient considering this M2 can't even handle masking without having to dim the screen and throttle the CPU.
I bought the ipad pro 2022 with expectations to learn how to do digital art. I hear a lot of raving reviews about the Apple Appstore exclusive, procreate. There are however a lot of caveats about the apple pencil (I have the gen 2) that people don't often emphasize, which I'd like to highlight in my review since I also have the samsung tab s7+.The Apple Pencil Gen 2 and the iPad does NOT work well with glass screen protectors. I don't care what the product description says on screen protectors; they just suck -- it basically made my quick notes app worthless (every time I tried to write on it, it drew a connecting line from the top left of the screen to wherever i started to draw). I don't care what the product description says on screen protectors; they just suck -- it basically made my quick notes app worthless (every time I tried to write on it, it drew a connecting line from the top left of the screen to wherever i started to draw). I tried restarting, unpairing and repairing the pen, toggling bluetooth -- the only solution that worked was taking my screen protector off. I've seen reviews of using other types of screen protectors like Paperlike, which you'd have to understand will wear down your pencil nibs faster. My other gripe is that quite often the apple pencil doesn't register or do anything, I have to dock it again and undock it from the magnetic side. This may seem insignificant; however, it gets annoying when you have a case on (and why wouldn't you want a case, when you know you can't have a screen protector). I wish it would just simply work. This draws my point to the samsung tab s7+. That is a 2 year old device, and granted, I would say it was the first tablet samsung put out that I would say could compete with the ipads. And it does so quite well. Samsung's had experience with the stylus for many years ahead of apple (because Steve Jobs detested the idea of having a stylus). The functionality of the stylus on the samsung beats the apple pencil by a long shot. It also feels more comfortable to use; however, that's a personal preference that you'd have to try for yourself. For me, the apple pencil just slides around on the slipper glass surface and makes it hard to really control compared to the nicer feeling tip on the S pen. Again, preference. At the end of the day, you pick an iPad over a Samsung if you absolutely must have the Procreate app and value longevity of software support. I believe the S7+ will be supported through 2024, but the S8 and beyond are supposed to get longer product support cycles. The ipad is significantly more expensive and hard to justify.

No more looking through physical files for and article I want to reread. The screen and image quality are amazing for watching TV and movies.I chose the iPad Pro 12.9" because of my heavy use as a notebook. I wanted to larger form factor. My son uses a smaller iPad and loves it.I had a small problem when I first got the iPad which was probably my fault. I reported the problem to Apple and they had a tech rep call me several times until he got me on the phone. He spent about a half hour explaining why I had the problem and answering other questions. The iPad Pro 12.9" is certainly not cheap. But you pay a premium price and get a premium product.
