Apple is the gold standard for tablets. From the beautiful bright colors to the 12 MP camera with capabilities of recording in 1080P, it’s got it all. I love the long battery life and paired with the Apple Pencil and Paperlite screen protector and Apple Smart Cover, I am able to draw realistically and accurate. Here’s a pic of a bat that I was able to replicate. It brings my drawings to new heights, especially when I can zoom in on areas to be able to add more detail to flesh out the drawing a bit more. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to improve as a digital artist. A+

This was an awesome deal on an open-box product, too good to resist! The iPad Pro itself is a beast of a machine, and although it has been heavily overshadowed in October 2020 by the new iPad Air with TouchID and the A14 bionic chip, this iPad Pro still rocks a pretty decent A12z bionic octacore processor and the 120 Hz screen for some really snappy performance. I also got the Apple Pencil (Gen 2) to go along with it.I've been using this for a few months now, and loving it so far. Heavy gameplay is a breeze, and watching movies and youtube videos is great on the gorgeous display. I also use the iPad Pro on my DJI Mavic Air 2 controller (using a special phone-to-tablet adapter I got for $25 on Amazon), so flying the drone is now easier with the big screen of the ... MoreThis was an awesome deal on an open-box product, too good to resist! I also use the iPad Pro on my DJI Mavic Air 2 controller (using a special phone-to-tablet adapter I got for $25 on Amazon), so flying the drone is now easier with the big screen of the iPad. I recently also started getting into video editing, so using a USB-C card reader, I can import all my drone, GoPro etc videos from the respective micro-SD cards. I bought the LumaFusion app for video editing, and with the Apple Pencil, it is a really powerful way to create content! Apart from that, I do use the iPad for regular browsing / social media / reading stuff. The 120 Hz display is really good.Negatives - I only with that all iPads came with TouchID instead of FaceID, because an iPad is generally a shared device among family members, and the 2-face limit is annoying. Also, with iPhones you are always bound to hold them in the correct way for FaceID to see you, with iPads you could be holding them in any angle; thus the camera gets blocked on numerous occasions requiring you to modify your grip. Grr.... Other than that though, I'm very happy with my purchase, especially at the OpenBox deal I got from Best Buy!

I did this because even with the student deal coupon added (a $150 discount), the iPad Pro was going to cost me $1099. Not a bad price by any means for last year's model with 1TB of storage. But... Under "Buying Options", I spotted a real deal (or what I thought was a real deal). The 1TB model was available in "Open Box - Excellent" condition for $899.99. This was too good to pass up! I checked to make sure I understood what BB's definition of "Excellent" condition meant BEFORE buying, and when I agreed with their definition I pulled the trigger and bought it. The item was shipped out the next day and it would take about a week to get to me. Fair enough since I went with free shipping.Fast forward to Jun 16th, the day it arrived. I get the package via UPS, and when I picked it up to bring inside I noticed the box was very light... OK, I know its a newer iPad and they are very thin but this is REALLY light for a tablet and it's included accessories! I go and I carefully open the box as to not damage anything, and when I open the flaps I see that there is a sheet of bubble wrap and what appears to be the iPad, naked (not in ANY sort of box or protective packaging) resting on another sheet (maybe it was 2) of bubble wrap. There were no barriers to protect the iPad from hitting the inside of the box (and therefore the outside surface of whatever the box was landing on when being moved around). The iPad was covered in some sort of dust, as if it had been sitting in a dust-infested environment for a long time. Underneath the iPad was a little bag with a wall charger from LG supposedly that had a USB-A port and a USB-C to USB-A cable. Apple's chargers for the iPad Pro have USB-C on both the charger AND cable, no USB-A.While the screen appeared to be intact with just that layer of dust on it I then took the iPad out of the box and turned it over to examine the back. The back had what I would describe as a blemish or deep scratches in one spot and some scratches on the camera bump. THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED "EXCELLENT" CONDITION! EVEN BEST BUY'S OWN DESCRIPTION SAYS AS MUCH! The condition of this iPad was definitely closer to Best Buy's "Fair" or "Satisfactory" condition, but that is not what I paid for. There is a happy ending at the end of this however. I went and printed up my receipt and on the receipt it does show "Open Box - Excellent" as the condition I purchased. I took the iPad and everything that came with it (the box, bubble wrap and bag with the cable and charger) back to my local Best Buy and they accepted the return when they saw what I purchased versus what actually showed up. Unfortunately I could not get the iPad 1 TB in store as they were out of it, but I ended up buying the new model anyway because Apple is having a promotion which saved me on Applecare+.The moral of this story is: Be careful when buying anything "Open Box" online. If you're at the store and they can show the item to you before you buy that's one thing, but if the price for something open box in "excellent" condition online is too good to be true then it probably is.

Good but heaps of undisclosed info

Good but heaps of undisclosed info. I am not expecting a flawless brand new looking iPad as I am aware I am purchasing a 5-6 year old used gadget. My problem with this purchase is that there are just heaps of undisclosed information in regard to the honest condition of the item. Apparently the screen has already been replaced, the replacement screen hasnt been placed properly that there was even a strand of hair poking out from the space between the glass screen and aluminum case body. Even the replacement screen is pretty scratched up and not in the best condition, not broken but its well used, the aluminum casing is just badly dented in all corners and sides, and the home button with touch ID is also wonky and clicks kind of funny. Great Ipad Pro 11 Geek Squad err.
24 June 2023

This review is for the IPAD 11 itself. This is the one right before the M1. Still very fast and usable. For the price I paid no regrets. The geek squad was errr... A toss up. Mine had a small dent in the back and some micro scratches on the sides and front glass. Knockoff charger and cable and no original box. I kept it cause I had extra charger and I can live with the dent and few scratches. For what I paid I couldn't get it any cheaper.

My favorite piece of technology!

I decided to upgrade from my iPad Mini 4 and wasn’t sure which new iPad to get so I actually ended up buying and testing Used iPad Gen 5 & Gen 6 9.7”, Gen 7 10.2”, 2018 Pro 12.9” and this New 2020 Pro 11” within a period of about 4 weeks. Although I am not a designer or heavy user I fell in love with the amazing technology that the Pro brings. Mainly, the minimal bezels, 120hz pro-motion, and stereo speakers did it for me. I coupled this with the Apple Smart Keyboard and it’s amazing. Yes, it is a bit pricey for people using their device as a true tablet for surfing, email, and a few videos but the experience with the Pro is second to none. If you have the extra cash or can use Best Buy’s great financing plans I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. Also - there are many people who look at both the 11” and 12.9” Pro and struggle to choose the best one. There are countless threads and YouTube videos which I’ve read and watched myself. Having had both devices, I would advise to REALLY, HONESTLY consider your usage. Replacing a laptop or doing a lot of design work? I’d highly recommend the 12.9. For me, a lot of my use is basic on the couch, sitting in bed, or traveling. I was enamored with the 12’9” Pro when I brought it home, it is truly an amazing piece of technology. After using it around the house for basic surfing and videos for half a day it began to feel kind of obnoxious. Despite how much I loved the larger display it was awkward to hold onto one handed or not prop against something for me. My 11” Pro from Best Buy arrived a couple days later and I was able to use them side by side for my basic purposes. At first the 11” actually felt small after spending so much time on the 12.9” (yes that is odd since I was coming from a MINI!) but I was much happier toting around the 11”. Much easier one-hand operation and more comfortable on the wrist. So, at the end of the day I resold the 12.9” for a large profit which then made my 11” purchase a fantastic deal! I still would love to get a 12.9” again some day.

Phenomenal tablet experience from Best Buy

There are a lot of factors that you can put into a review - the product itself, the manufacturer, the place that sells the product, the apps and infrastructure around the product, and so on.After going through several different Apple tablets for many years, often repairing them myself, I reached the point where the iPads I had would not accept the latest updates from Apple - their generation was deemed obsolete.Rather than e-recycle my Now-irrelevant technology, I learned I could trade them in to Best Buy. Yes, you might get more profit if you were to sell them yourself, but I was dealing with, in essence, the Walking Dead version of mobile computing. Best Buy staff inspected my items thoroughly and gave me fair credit (in the form of a gift card) that I could apply to something of this century. And apply I did. It just so happened that I was shopping during some prime day held by some company named after a rainforest. Free-market competition worked in my favor this time as Best Buy offered a nice discount on top of an already competitive price. My gift card was accepted and I just had to wait for delivery.Which only took a day, aside from being free. This shiny, new tablet was factory sealed and arrived undamaged. My storage space had grown eight-fold. My games run without interruption. Video streams are smooth. Pairing to a stylus was successful and my whiteboard app captures all my thoughts. This particular tablet has a USB-C port which allows me to connect an expansion hub. I have not fully explored this capability, but I imagine it will come in handy for file transfers.I did need to contact support for instructions on how to reboot the tablet. We have to hold down the volume up button in addition to the power button to get the power off slider. Just holding the power button summons Siri, and she will absolutely not help you with rebooting the tablet. I suspect she's refusing out of sheer self-preservation.For those of you who are in the market for a tablet, whether you are new to tablets or are upgrading from a previous model, I recommend this one. The screen size is spacious, performance is high, the Apple app store will accept you again, and you're not paying the premium for the newest M1 processor.

Solid, Excellent tool with sharp screen, memory and response time

First, let me get out the way, the downsides,Its a little on the heavier side, which you will notice as you are trying to read or listen to music while falling asleep. It just weighs a ton. The music from the speakers is QUITE EXCEPTIONAL for a tablet, but "for a tablet" is not saying much. It still lacks the rich tones found in many micro-speaker units. There are no tips and tricks manuals, or even "a where to go find the tips and tricks", you are left to your own searches and fortunes of hunting youtube and Apple. There is no paperwork included whatsoever. But that's just a blemish on an otherwize outstanding piece of art.The color screen is amazing and sharp. The 5x zoom camera is clean, clear and does not pixelate.Memory is abundant, even in the lowest model ... MoreFirst, let me get out the way, the downsides,Its a little on the heavier side, which you will notice as you are trying to read or listen to music while falling asleep. The 5x zoom camera is clean, clear and does not pixelate.Memory is abundant, even in the lowest model at 128gig (I went with the middle range at 256gb). Upgrading from my 5th Gen iPad Pro 10.5 32gb which was completely filled up at the time as a joy. Not only is there memory, but it handles APPS faster and cleaner.Face recognition works well. I have been quite surprised by the quick logon of all my APPs using Face Recognition. One real feature that I love is that IT DOES NOT quickly respond to edge grabs where your fingers touch the screen while holding it.Is it worth $1000?First, yes me, I felt it was a way it is a good spend my 2020 Stimilus Check, to upgrade my ipad now, which was my reasoning, beyond that, for self employed, feild techs and salespersons will likely prefer and enjoy its upgraded security, speed, camera and capacity.

Thank you BestBuy!! Great value on this iPad Pro!

I bought this iPad Pro Gen 2 (Geek Squad Certified Refurbished) for $399. If I bought a new one with the M2 chip, the cheapest I could get it for was $699 (retail $799). This one is just as fast (A12Z Bionic processor), same four speaker set-up, USB-C charging, Pro-Motion display with 600 nits of brightness, etc etc etc. It's every bit as fast as a brand new one for half the price. Unless you're using your iPad Pro for heavy video editing, buying an M1 or M2 chip version is a waste of money.Super happy! It came in a regular cardboard box, and had a generic charger...but honestly I'm okay with that being refurbished. I put an Otterbox Defender case on it to protect it...couldn't be happier for $399....thank you BestBuy!
