Apple iPad Pro (2017) 10.5" 64GB 4G - Gold

I upgraded my iPad from the IPad Air 2 to the 5th Gen IPad Pro 12.9 several months ago and it’s the best decision I ever made. It’s sooo expensive but I mean all Apple products are. I got the 2nd gen Apple Pencil with it and I fell in love. The bigger display area. The quality of it not to mention the ability to write on it and it can even feel like writing on paper if you use the right screen protector. For my I don’t like paper feel protectors simply because they make images and videos look grainy and half the reason I enjoy my iPad is for the huge crystal clear display but I don’t mind using the pencil directly onto the screen because I’m careful. So if you want a tablet that will make you feel like a tech wizard and a creative genius at the same time, get yourself an iPad Pro. Just be prepared to never leave the house again, because you'll be too busy creating masterpieces and binging Netflix on your new mini TV.

Beautiful display but not best for organization

Very nice display! I just wish it had an USB port. I’m new to apple products so I learned the hard way on many differences from Samsung. The USB-C is different, so can’t use the lightning charger I have for the Iphone. Unlike Samsung (which lets you make nice folders for your photos), there is not a good way to organize your photos (at least I haven’t found a way yet). And you cannot transfer files via a USB stick (although I might try purchasing a USB-C / USB adapter…) All in all, it’s kind of a headache to figure out so it’s currently on my coffee table collecting dust. Now I’m looking to buy a MacBook Pro so I can actually use it like a computer and hopefully organize my files! Bigger is Better

I primarily use my iPad for gaming. Either remote play with my ps5 or cloud gaming with Xbox. I also use it for consuming content and writing blogs. I’ve owned all sizes of iPad and this is my first time going for the 12.9 display. I thought the device would be too bulky but the extra screen is worth it and makes multi tasking on iPad almost enjoyable. It’s still not a laptop replacement but it’s getting closer with each new OS, and the larger screen helps. Looking forward to taking advantage of the M1 chip with iPadOS 16. I should also note that this is best display I’ve ever had on a tablet or laptop, hands down. You may not notice the 120hz refresh rate or the clarity of the liquid led screen but you will when you’re looking at an inferior device. It’s also the perfect accessory for my 14” MacBook Pro. I use it as a second monitor or in sidecar mode almost daily. The 12.9in screen offers plenty of screen real estate. If you’ve long been considering going with the largest iPad Apple offers but have been hesitant, I say just do it. You won’t regret it.

The quicker download makes using the internet for bills and email so much smoother. It is like using/watching a small TV. I love this larger display. Great refurbished iPad Pro 10.5

Ordered one these refurbished iPad Pro 10.5 on June 27 2022 and received on July 1 2022. Shipping was fast and came in a few days earlier than expected. Upon arrival the iPad needed to be charged, the included charger worked fine. I was very surprised to see the unit I received had a perfect screen with no scratches. The back of iPad’s aluminum body was also in near perfect condition. However 3 out of the 4 front corners and the power button did have some small gouges into the metal (see photos for details). I purchased a case for this iPad and the case covered the corners so that didn’t bother me much. After the iPad was fully charged I connected it to my MacBook and used a program called coconutbattery to inspect the battery health of the iPad. The program showed the battery had degraded to 75% max capacity, I was hoping for over 80% but for an iPad that’s 4 years old I wasn’t disappointed. I can easily get a full days use and still end the day with 20% battery. I was happy to see the iPad I received also didn’t suffer the white spot screen issue this generation of iPad Pros had. After using one of these refurbished iPads for over a month I have not had any issues and would highly recommend one of these units to anyone looking for an inexpensive iPad Pro.

However, the ease of magnetically attaching the Apple Pencil and Keyboard without pairing as well as no need to separately charge them is great. But this drains the iPad battery. There is a solution - have the iPad on the charger while you work on it. The clarity of image display is perfect as well as the reproduction of all shades and intensities of colours. The iPad responds fast to all commands. Love using the pencil for basic tasks as well as I can already see the potential for all kinds of art work of it in combination with the Pixelmator application. It is difficult not be heap superlatives on this device. It is fast, sips the battery, has a magnificent display but is let down by an OS that makes no use of all that hardware.As always with Apple hardware it is beautifully made with precise and solid buttons, a beautifully made case and a superb screen which is bright and has excellent resolution. I used to think the 12.9 was too large, but, these days, it does not seem to be too large, although I will continue to use the 11 when traveling to keep size and weight down.iPad OS is another case altogether. It is so restrictive and it becomes more obvious when you use the Apple Magic Keyboard which makes you think you have a laptop equivalent. You then notice the clumsy interface, very restricted access to files, archaic access to multiple windows using arcane gestures that make no sense etc. You have to accept that iPad OS is not Mac OS. The M1 MacBook Air is a better buy if you want a laptop, not a 12.9 iPad with Magic Keyboard which is more expensive and much less functional. However if you want a slim convenient media consuming device the iPad is very good.My last point is that this device is not cheap and I waited to get an offer from BHPhoto who are one of my favorite on line technology places for photo, computers etc. Once you add the cost of that Magic Keyboard, you are in MacBook Pro territory. It has one small advantage over a MacBook Air or Pro, it has a SIM slot which gives you access to the internet anywhere there is a cell tower. So if you know the advantages and disadvantages of this device and have deep pockets, then this is the best iPad you can get, But if you are looking for a combined laptop and touch pad solution, then think carefully, it is nowhere near being a laptop replacement until iPad OS is sorted out.

I do wish you could fine tune the size of each half of the screen. There’s also a vertical floating window that I mistakenly resize applications to, which can slide out to either the left or right of the screen, and it’s quite annoying whenever I do this on accident. I wish there was a horizontal floating window that slides out from the top or bottom, as I think it would be far more useful.Despite these gripes, Apple Pencil and iPad provides the premier experience for handwritten digital note-taking over any other tablets. From my personal experience, I would recommend the iPad Pro 11” for the best mix between weight, performance, size, features, and value.
