Many Problems with Activating and setting up from iPhone-8. iCloud transfer worked OK, but phone would not activate, and required multiple support calls to resolve. iMessage and Facetime did not work after logging-into Apple-ID, and the fix was complicated. Most online suggestions did not help, but searching indicated that these problems are very well-known for the iPhone-14. iOS updated helped, but did not actually fix anything. The phone has been working now for nearly 2 weeks, but the user doesn't acknowledge any improvement over the iPhone-8, and she misses the hardware "Home Button". I’ve had this phone for about two weeks now, don’t get me wrong it’s a nice phone. I’m not sure if it is because of the iOS update or system issue. I’m not getting my notifications at all for messaging or calls on my Apple Watch or iPhone at the same time. Which means my notifications aren’t at the same time like they were with my iPhone 11. When I had my iPhone 11 and my Apple Watch was synced to it. My Apple Watch or my iPhone would light up or make a noise when I got a notification. Now since my new iPhone. My Apple Watch gets them, but my iPhone doesn’t vibrate or my screen doesn’t light up when a notification comes in. When I was at my phone company. They thought that was weird as well. They thought I did something to my phone and I didn’t. I’ve never had this ... MoreI’ve had this phone for about two weeks now, don’t get me wrong it’s a nice phone. They thought I did something to my phone and I didn’t. I’ve never had this problem before with my old iPhone. I’ve called apple support. They told me to wait until the new update. If it keeps happening after the update. It’s the phone. So right now I’m dealing with a software issue. It sucks. Hoping the new update does fix my problems because no one else knows how to help me for the past two weeks.

The 14+ is an excellent phone if you want some Ty larger, but don’t need all the bells and if the Pro or Pro Max. I moved up from a mini 12 as my vision was not as sharp as before and this phone has worked out well. It has plenty of memory, an excellent battery which I have yet to get below 40% in a full day of use (5 am to 10 pm). The refresh rate has not been an issue for me and doubt I’d ever know the difference. The camera on the 14 series does a very good job and meets all my needs. Initially, moving from the mini to the plus, I thought I’d have an issue with the size, but I have not. I really enjoy the larger screen and the vivid colors. Overall, very satisfying phone. I have no regrets getting the plus model.

I had considered getting the Pro, but that was on back order, and since I don’t do much video, I decided the regular iPhone 14 would be good enough for what I need. It is smaller than the other versions, so it is good for people (like me) with small hands. Let me just say, I ordered this new iPhone 14 online and set it up myself: this was the easiest data transfer/phone setup I have ever gone through. Having gone from one iPhone to another, the new phone walked me through the setup process and automatically pulled all of my apps, passwords, and other data from my old phone and installed it on the new one; all I had to do was log into my different accounts. Having gone from one iPhone to another, the new phone walked me through the setup process and automatically pulled all of my apps, passwords, and other data from my old phone and installed it on the new one; all I had to do was log into my different accounts. Now, I have low vision, so I rely heavily on accessibility features. The iPhone has multiple settings that I utilize, first and foremost enlarged font sizes. On my previous iPhone, the size I set would cause text to bunch and overlap, rendering it illegible. Despite the iPhone 14’s screen being only a little larger, I am happy to say that this issue has almost completely vanished. Apple touchscreen products, like their watch, iPhone, and iPad all use the same touch commands, making them extremely easy to use and navigate once these different controls are learned; this new iPhone is no different there. For the Facial recognition, it is an extremely convenient feature that works whether or not I am wearing a surgical mask; the only frustrating part is that I have to be fairly close to the screen to see it, which is much too close for the facial recognition feature to work, so before I even realize it is going to scan my face, it has already tried multiple times and then requires me to enter my passcode or password manually. The only thing that makes this particular inconvenience tolerable and less interruptive is that I have an Apple Watch which, when close enough to the iPhone, unlocks it if facial recognition fails (my watch is frequently vibrating to let me know it—not my face—opened the phone or an app). iCloud is still a fantastic feature, and I haven’t encountered any issues pulling up information on my phone or iMac. The new battery life on this phone is also a huge plus! I have used it to listen to lossless audio streaming, watching videos, streaming shows and live tv, reading, online shopping, GPS navigation, and random browsing. I am on my phone or listening to music for hours each day, more so the past week because of the Thanksgiving holiday, and while I choose to charge my phone any time it gets under 80%, I haven’t even had to do that every day. The only real glitch I have encountered is that on some phone calls, I cannot adjust the sound volume during the call with the phone’s side buttons. Otherwise, it does everything I need and more, so I am very happy with this new iPhone and, for sure, recommend it!
Jumped from the 13 max to 14 max solely for the camera and I usually don’t just jump a single phone model - slightly regretting it. The 13 had trouble autofocusing and selecting the right camera when taking photos out of an airplane cockpit. The 14 AF and camera selection seem to be slightly less temperamental so far, and the colors(especially in low light) seem truer. That’s where the improvements stop for me. The wallpaper feature widgets update is nifty, but it killed a very basic and arguably important feature - choosing Home Screen and Lock Screen photos independently when you just want to change one of them. I’ve just sorted by people, selected a photo, “use as wallpaper” which automatically sets as your Lock Screen, and then forces you to choose a Home Screen ... MoreJumped from the 13 max to 14 max solely for the camera and I usually don’t just jump a single phone model - slightly regretting it. The wallpaper feature widgets update is nifty, but it killed a very basic and arguably important feature - choosing Home Screen and Lock Screen photos independently when you just want to change one of them. I’ve just sorted by people, selected a photo, “use as wallpaper” which automatically sets as your Lock Screen, and then forces you to choose a Home Screen photo(or Apple background) right then, but doesn’t let you sort by people which means you either have to screenshot the photo in advance so it’s easily accessible or scroll through all of your photos. The even worse scenario: What if I want to change just my Home Screen? Why am I forced to completely redo my lock screen photo + widgets and then go fishing for my desire Home Screen photo!? I just don’t get how you sit down in a dev meeting and say, “Should we let people choose their Home Screen and Lock Screen photos independently of one another like we’ve done for years without issue? Nah, let’s change it.” Change just for the sake of change is no guarantee of improvement. Would not recommend the jump from a 13.
Delighted with my IPhone 14Plus. The new safety features pair with my Apple Watch and allow me the emergency features of my previous medical alert button with fall detection and my pocket EKG machine without all that extra expense, bulk and taking up more room in my purse. Crash alert is another plus that helps me stay more secure on the go. Need I even mention the great pics, superb sound of my favorite music and ease of calling, email, internet and so much more. Love the red color, the magnetic charging and the nice sized screen. I loved my IPhone 11, but the trade in made it a simple, affordable upgrade that suits me well. Once I went Apple, I never went back and dont ever intend to.
I have noticed several things that are different from my previous phone. The Iphone 14 does not hold a charge as long, looks like I will have to charge it every night now. It has completely blacked out on me several times and once while I was answering a telephone call from the same office I have been in for 11 years. The service is exactly the same. It also completely turned itself off in Kohls for an hour and I was unable to use the app for coupons or scanning. When I went to the car to charge it, it mysteriously came back on and still had 22% battery power. However, I had over 90% charge before when i left the house. I am not sure it is better than my old phone, but I am trying to get used to it.
There's nothing special about this phone. If I didn't physically go buy this phone myself I wouldn't believe I wasn't still using my XR. My only real complaint, and it could be a fatal flaw, is how slippery the exterior of the phone is. It slides off of almost every surface until you put a case on it. Not sure what this is supposed to accomplish, it doesn't make the phone look or feel more premium, it just mandates a case ASAP, which is pathetic for such an expensive device. The only reason I got something this 'expensive' is because they were basically giving it away. I have no complaints, but I could have the same experience with a $300 device.
My new iPhone 14 is great. VZ gave me $800 on the trade-in of my iPhone 8 which was an offer I couldn't refuse. 5G where connected, improved camera, longer battery time. They did a good job transferring all of my apps from the old phone, but I'm having to reinstall a few such as home security. I haven't mastered the touch of turning off apps running in the background. Necessary for me to re-LogIn to the phone more than my previous phone, but I'm sure I haven't learned the shortcut. I do not use the facial recognition LogIn. New phone charger does not use a USB connector. Presidio2 Grip case case is great, magnetic, sturdy. Now, before reading this I have not used this iPhone, so take me with a grain of salt. But, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are not big upgrades. The baseline 14’s have the A15 bionic chip from the 13 Pros last year, so there is a slight upgrade in performance. However the 14 Pros have the A16 chip which is around 18% faster then the A15. However I think the 14 Plus will be a big hit this year, you get a huge screen under $900. But, the 14 Pro and Pro Max are much better with new features, and the normal person probably probably doesn’t care. So, if your thinking about buying the 14 or 14 Plus, go ahead and get the 14 Pro, you’ll be much happier with your money, but if you can’t, these phones will be great and all. It’s just you get more value with your money. So yeah ... MoreNow, before reading this I have not used this iPhone, so take me with a grain of salt.
