Yet the sensitivity isn’t so great that I don’t constantly have to tap the same area for it to register something is going on. Predictive text fails in comparison to androids and I have never been a fan of the rolling numbers only option for setting times, dates, etc. I do like the weight and feel of this phone model as it is comparable to my previous phone. I also use the iPhone 13 Pro for business so it is nice to have something I can work one handed if I would like.

That was for the iPhone 11, the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 13, and now currently the iPhone 14 Pro with 256GB of storage. Not bad paying a total of $1,800.00 when my newest one retails for $1,100.00That being said this new iPhone 14 Pro is worth every penny that it costs and is by far the best phone Apple has made to date. If you are considering either buying the iPhone 14 or the iPhone 14 pro and are torn between the two, my recommendation is that you spend the extra $100.00 because the differences between the two are worth it. The last phone I bought was the iPhone 13 and I purchased that because I didn't feel I needed the extra camera and the non pro model seemed to suit me just fine. Now think about having the 48 megapixel camera on the 14 Pro verses the 12 megapixel that's on the iPhone 14, and it doesn't make sense to purchase anything other than the Pro. You also get ProRes video on the Pro model which is worth considering as well, and something that I don't believe is available on the non Pro model. The Dynamic Island is also something that's only available on the Pro and it's pretty cool. The chip is better on the Pro model as well, going with the new A16 Bionic chip verses the A15 Bionic chip that was on last years iPhone 13 Pro. Between the two models this year, the Pro model also has better battery life.Other than these features, the two phones are identical but the one feature that makes going into the Pro worth the extra money over all the other features is the 48 megapixel camera and getting the Telephoto lens on top of it. It takes photos in 48 megapixels using any of the three lenses.I've been using the iPhone 14 Pro for two weeks now and the photos that it takes are amazing. I like a lot of detail in my pictures and this new iPhone hasn't disappointed me at all. The camera has had a nice improvement also in night mode over the camera in the iPhone 13. All in all I must say that Apple has finally made a significant change this year and it's worth upgrading even if you are going from last years model. I know that I can finally wait two or three years now before upgrading again because this new phone is way ahead of any phones that Apple has made in the past.

Just another iPhone. I do like the full screen and that it is smaller than the plus but with a larger screen, The battery life for me lasts all day.

So I have been using this phone as my daily driver for a full week and I would say that I love this phone. Heres a pros and cons listPROS:-Camera performance is great. I will admit the phone does look like it is turned on sometimes but I got used to it.-Performance wise for the pass few days has been great and I haven't experienced any issues with the software (yet)CONS:-Battery life has slightly been decreased and not as good as last years pro models. I had the 13 pro from last year and I was able to get a comfortable 7-8 1/2 hours easily for my type of use. This issue is most definitely is being caused by the AOD but I am not turning it off as its useful for me and normally by the time I am home I plug it in to charge PSA: (Battery usage will vary to each person and will vary on how you use the phone)-No charger in the box. I keep a gripe going about this because honestly, for 1000 you should expect a charging brick because some 600-800 dollar androids come with these massive 65 watt chargers.-E-SIM. Personally the e-sim isn't for me. Although the signal strength has been slightly more noticeable, I would prefer to just have a physical sim to ease the transition of upgrading phones.OVERALL:This phone is great only if you get a good trade in offer or value. I traded my iphone 13 pro max in for 800 through t-mobile as I am writing this. If there was no good trade in offer for the phone, I would honestly have not upgraded but I couldn't pass up the deal, and I don't mind buying a locked carrier phone since Im not planning to upgrade to the 15 next year and just wait for the 16.BONUS:If you purchase the monthly applecare service, it is worth it. If you plan on keeping this phone for 1-2 years, there is no doubt in my mind that the battery health would be degraded. If you also crack your phone, you'll be able to get a replacement same day.

Primarily the vulnerability of the camera lens cluster on the back side of the phone. I have the OtterBox - Defender Series Pro Hard Shell on the phone which is a very solid and trustworthy case. But even with this the backside glass has cracked after a average fall on the ground. There must have been a rock or something that contacted the glass around the camera lenses which is a solid piece with the entire back of the phone. The glass under the case is shattered. I have the case left on in the picture for the following reason. Despite being a totaltech member with Applecare+ through BestBuy, the Geeksquad stated they are not doing repairs on the 14s and would have to send my phone into Apple for a 4 day turn around.Additionally, the battery life was not as expected with this phone. Using the camera drains the battery very quickly. I have also found that if you don't close the camera app, even when locking the screen it drains battery.I also experience odd video streaming issue with this phone where the video spaz out seemingly fast forwarding with no sound. I have to either stop or back step the video and it is often not in the same place. This happens on multiple apps.

My first Pro = excellent phone!

I’ve been an iPhone guy since the 4s (and was an Apple Watch guy until the Garmin Epix 2nd gen but that’s a different review). I had an iPhone X, skipped the 11 (I think), briefly had a 12 and, most recently, had the 13 mini. The mini was a great size but the crazy masses think that bigger is better so the mini is no more. The 14 Pro is my first Pro iPhone and it is excellent. Face ID is faster than ever (although I maintain that Touch ID was more convenient). The screen is gorgeous and responsive. I think True Tone was released with the X and I immediately turned it off: the screen was constantly changing color and it wasn’t any sort of great feature at the time at all, IMHO. Well, I finally decided to turn it back on after four years and, holy cow!, did Apple ever improve it in the meantime! Like I said, the screen goes from being ho-hum to gorgeous now! Colors really pop after having turned True Tone on. (Maybe all the rest of you already knew this but I get a little tired of Apple over promising and under delivering so I tend to not use features when they under deliver but then I miss out when the reality finally, eventually, maybe catches up to their promises.) The Dynamic Island is a ho-hum feature out of the box so I’m looking forward to them doing more with that and hopefully not just eventually killing it off like they did with Force Touch (under delivered). The always-on display is okay and battery life is definitely better than it was on my mini. The trade-off is that phone is too darn big but there’s always a trade-off in life. I’m using the Accessibility setting’s double- and triple-tap settings for Reachability and Home, respectively (in case that helps anybody out). Lately, Deep Purple is a great color but I’ve got it hidden behind a case.

One week in, feels like a downgrade

First let me say I'm an Apple fan when it comes to phones, and I have only had iPhones since smartphones were launched. I'm coming from an XS. Can confirm the service issues. Calls dropping many times over where I had no issues before with my XS. I'm in the middle of a 5G Ulta/5G Nationwide/LTE widely covered smaller metropolitan area so I wouldn't think I'd be having problems. Right after calls are dropped, cannot immediately call back or text either, so definitely a network problem. Battery life, as many have stated, is no better than my last phone when it was new, and is depleted by new features. Battery life, as many have stated, is no better than my last phone when it was new, and is depleted by new features. You can turn off the always on display to preserve, but then you're rendering one of the selling points useless. Cameras may be upgraded but won't focus properly in certain third party apps (google lens and Marco Polo in low light, for example. Phone won't focus close up in google lens and in Marco Polo, kept going in and out of focus in low light conditions). I don't have extensive use of the camera yet but when you're using the camera app directly, the phone focus seems fine. I know this is definitely personal preference, but having come from the sleek & thin XS, this phone feels like a boxy downgrade and all the side controls feel like they're in the way. I know this return-to-old external design was rolled out with the 12, but if you've got an 11 or older and are bothered by sensory things/tactile experience, go to the Apple store and try this out in hand before you buy it. The main plus for me is the dynamic island. It makes viewing critical info from other apps a breeze. Still on the fence as to whether I will return this. I don't usually go for the newest tech but it made sense financially with the trade in value, otherwise I'd have been paying the same price for older tech. So I'm hopeful iOS and third party apps will catch up and the 5G connectivity issues will be resolved.

I have owned half of the iphones versions made since the first one. The best one ever was the iPhone 5 line. Durable, felt amazing, great tactile feel and function, perfect size, etc. From then on, honestly I never liked the newer models. The 14pro is a bit of a let down in form, function, and feel. I thought with the change in form factor, that it would be more like the iPhone 5, but it is not. The plastics actually feel horrible, slippery, and just 'cheap' feeling. For something this size, it is nearly impossible to hold and use without it flying out of your hand. You HAVE to get a more tactile case. But I didn't get this simply as a phone, or media device, ipod, etc. I got this for the camera sensor and lenses. Period. Period. In that regard, so far this has been a worthwhile buy. However, Google Pixel actually might still have an edge in all regards compared to this phone. If I weren't totally Apple based (work and home and life), I would seriously consider something else. What's amazing, is nearly every aspect of this phone is the literal opposite of what Steve Jobs had worked so hard on creating in the worlds first 'smart phone' and those that followed: camera lenses that stuck way out, sizes that you CANT hold in one hand and use from top to bottom, tangible feel and materials, functionality, etc.

iPhone Pros keep getting better and BETTER
18 September 2022

It's been a few years since I got a new iPhone and I just traded in my iPhone 12 Pro for this beauty. A couple of years without an upgrade have presented me with not one but two years worth of improvements. First of all, compared to the 12 Pro, the 120hz refresh rate that started with the 13Pro is a welcome addition. Navigating the screen is just so snappy and smooth. As far as 14Pro improvements over the 13Pro, it's obvious the always on display is very welcome! When I'm working on my laptop on my desk I have had the 12Pro on the handy magnetic Mophie stand that I bought on the Apple website, but it mostly was just a blank screen. Now, with the always on display, when I have my iPhone 14Pro on the stand it shows the time and date and a couple of sports/news ... MoreIt's been a few years since I got a new iPhone and I just traded in my iPhone 12 Pro for this beauty. When I'm working on my laptop on my desk I have had the 12Pro on the handy magnetic Mophie stand that I bought on the Apple website, but it mostly was just a blank screen. Now, with the always on display, when I have my iPhone 14Pro on the stand it shows the time and date and a couple of sports/news headlines at all time. Yes, very handy. I love the unique out of the box "Dynamic Island" that Apple has now put in place of the "Notch That Does Nothing." I think this feature will become more and more handy as time goes by and more third party apps invent ways to use it with their applications. The brightness on the new iPhone 14 Pro came in very handy the other day for me when I was outside and got an important text. I used to have to really struggle to be able to see the screen in bright daylight but now with the 2000 nits on the new Pro, it was so readable! I LOVE this phone. It's getting to the point now that, after being an Android person for half a dozen years, all of the things I loved on Android that weren't available on the iPhone have now appeared. In my opinion, this latest version of the iPhone Pro now has everything I could possibly want on a smartphone. I'm glad I didn't wait for another year.
