Apple iPhone 16 - 128 GB - Teal

Screen swipe doesn’t work 50% of the time. Touch response 1/2 the time. Internet is poor. I ran several speed test and compared it with my 5 year old iPad Air each ran separately at 1 minute apart. iPad was 297 to 303, iPhone 16 Plus was 79 to 93. This is definitely going back to Apple. Extremely disappointed. Apple is not living up to the legacy of Steve Jobs. The design is outdated, there’s very little fresh new appeal and frankly Apple has been playing catch to Android phones. And is there really a need for of four versions of a new iPhone…NO!

A solid update with disappointing new features

If you are coming from an old iPhone model, this is a solid upgrade. I have come from an iPhone X. So for about £200 less than I paid for that, I've gotten a slightly bigger screen, all the modern internal changes you'd expect for a new device and my favourite of all: the significantly better battery life!The downsides? Apple Intelligence is pathetic. I have found it to be a niche feature that I just don't use.Unfortunately the other big update to this year's model is the camera control button. It's just not very good. It has additional functionality but unless you really want a phone that focuses more heavily on camera features, it's just not that useful. The battery improvements are great. But if you want some of these new features like AI, I'd say skip the iPhone 16 and wait a year.

Clunky, awkward design makes this phone uncomfortable to use

I upgraded from an iPhone 8 to the iPhone 16 because Verizon offered a great trade-in deal, so it cost me less than any other phone would have. I am not happy with the decision I made.The 8 was the last generation of iPhone with a physical "home" button, and I miss it. Having to rely on touchscreen interaction makes the 16 relatively sluggish and stubborn. Right, because I want the phone to double in weight and thickness and make it even harder to get in and out of my pockets. (Ultimately I have no choice here. I will have to get a case. Which raises the question: why design the phone this way?)Apple is very proud that the iPhone screen goes all the way to the edge of the phone. Why is this helpful?? It just means that you are more likely to accidentally activate the screen, or something on the screen, when you pick up the phone.And that brings me to the buttons. The edge of the phone is *lined* with sensitive buttons, like the idiot camera button which they positioned exactly where the heel of your right hand will hit. This makes it very, very difficult to pick up or use the phone without accidentally triggering a function you don't need. I've accidentally opened the camera app while texting many, many times.Apple is also very proud of the camera in this phone. They should not be. The official reviewers are lying to you: the iPhone 16 camera is no better than the iPhone camera from ten years ago. All they've done is added a pile of broken, janky features that do not work as promised.The phone OS experience overall is very frustrating. They really, really want this thing to be making decisions for you, and it just isn't any good at any of that.I am, of course, stuck now in this Verizon contract, so I'll have to try to get comfortable with this thing. But I absolutely hate it, and if I could afford to ditch it and start over, I would.

I got a Japanese version with camera shutter sound

The product is new, original and in the original box.The only issue with it is that it has a camera shutter sound which you cannot remove. I had specifically chosen a version with no camera shutter sound, but the item that I received had that feature.I talked with a customer service representative about the issue and if we could arrange a swap of items (same order/purchase, just to send back the phone and get a new one guaranteed that I'll get a right phone this time) and they couldn't accomodate that. According to them, I had to go through the return process, validating the return, refund and then I could place a new different order and wait again for the new phone delivery . New iPhone 16

I find the new iPhone 16 very easy to use as it’s much smaller. I have a regular iPhone 16 not the pro or the max. The sound that it produces playing music is definitely A plus. I am enjoying the smaller platform. It’s much easier to handle a lot lighter than my previous phone. I think the battery is average compared to my last iPhone although I have not had it long enough to really see. It’s full potential how long it lasts without draining all in all it is a little faster I like it. It was very easy to transfer everything over.

Review of APPLE iPhone 16 - 128 GB White

Title: A Significant Upgrade: My Experience with the iPhone 16I just bought the iPhone 16 in white, coming from an iPhone 14 Pro, and I am really liking it—even without Apple Intelligence being ready at launch. The addition of the Action Button adds a new level of convenience, allowing for quick access to my most-used functions. The enhanced camera controls and the better camera overall are significant upgrades over my 14 Pro.Overall, I’m very satisfied with my decision to upgrade. The iPhone 16 has exceeded my expectations and has proven to be a worthy successor to my 14 Pro.

Review of iPhone 16 128GB Ultramarine

Excellent iPhone. Very happy with. I upgraded from an IPhone 8 Plus which had lasted for some years but felt it good to update. The colour is beautiful. Going into this new iPhone 16 was very different to the 8 Plus but I really like this now. I use the dark mode and so have many colours of contrast on phone and Facebook as emails. This not only makes it more interesting as it is great to see all the colours but easier to read when not young lol. Whilst the iPhone 16 is a little smaller than the Pro or Plus as is so for all phones, I am very pleased with this new iPhone 16 I had been feeling a bit left behind. Three Years of Purgatory

I am disappointed in the iPhone 16. I do not like the huge camera button - I keep pressing it accidentally and my camera pops up. I’m also disappointed that most of my critical health apps do not work with the iOS 18. I do know this is the apps’ fault, not Apple, but if I could do it over again I would’ve just kept my iPhone 13. There are many other issues that I’m not happy with, but I’m stuck for three years because when I purchased it online through Verizon, the highest memory was 128, so I stupidly bought it. Then when I picked it up from Verizon I discovered my error and they would only exchange to the 256, even though I wanted the 512. They refused to give me the 512, saying I didn’t need it. [Rewarded Review] Huge upgrade over the 13

I didn’t want to upgrade quite yet, but my 13 was already on its last legs when the screen cracked from a fall. So I did some research and the baseline 16 seems to be the way to go at the moment. Some immediate observations: the camera is so much nicer. The pictures are clearer, the zoom is way better, and the operations are all much snappier. Taking a portrait shot went from a missed opportunity to a terrific photo. The action button is a nice tough, I locked that as a flashlight - I lost the physical button silent mode option, but I rarely used that anyways. Face ID also seems quicker, too. Less of an upgrade, the Dynamic Island is fine, nothing too exciting there. iPhone 16

Very pleased with this phone after the disappointment with the iphone15 pro max that I bought last year. The photos that I had taken with that were dreadful, especially low light ones. The software just pixelated and made so many of them grainy. I was even getting blurred photos that I had never experienced with my iphone11. I was able to take that phone back as I only had it for one week when I discovered those problems. So as I prefer iPhones to Android I hoped the basic iPhone 16 would be better than last years models and I'm pleased to say it is. I am a happy Apple customer again and thanks to John Lewis for easy ordering and speedy delivery.
