My wife likes to hang onto things and is not one for unnecessary change, so when the battery of her iPhone 6 suddenly failed I looked for a more up-to-date replacement. This pre-owned device has provided a useful and workable replacement, and I am happy with the purchase. This iPhone SE 2020 is a good replacement. This iPhone SE 2020 has a small physical size, so if you are looking for a 'phone' without a massive screen this is a good choice. The 'home' button is no longer a physical switch, it has a haptic system which simulates the 'click' and works quite well. Migrating from the old phone was a breeze thanks to Apple's tool which is intended to help you upgrade your phone. The thing you need to know, and I discovered this by trial and error, is that youmust put your SIM into the new phone before you start the migration otherwise things do not happen.

I have never been happier with a phone in my life! I was a Symbian, then Windows phone fan but as Microsoft gave up on Windows phone I started buying a new Google Pixel phone annually. This year the new Pixel's were way too big for one handed use and not to mention a little pricey. The fingerprint sensor was sub-par on my Pixel 6 as well. I switched to another Android OEM (Motorola), no update to Android 12 yet. I finally gave up and went for this new iphone SE and I find the Google apps better on ios than on Android! The size is PERFECT for one handed use and for not having to feel like a floor tile is in your pocket! The fingerprint sensor is fast and 100% accurate. The camera is solid and I even bought an Apple Watch SE and it is doing wonders for my workout ... MoreI have never been happier with a phone in my life! I checked out the iphone 13 mini but I really wanted the home button and the smooth edges which just feel perfect in my hand! A++ to Apple on this one!

I've had Apple stuff since 1993. But I held off getting an iPhone until 5 years ago - too expensive, I thought. That was an SE too and it was so exponentially better than the Sonys and Samsungs I'd been labouring with that when the time came to put it out to pasture/in a drawer, I bought this. A cliché I know, but really, 'it just works'; it probably has bells and whistles about which I know nothing but it does the basic stuff really well, has a truly remarkable battery life, and syncs with other apple suff really seamlessly. Do I mind that the design is antiquated? Not really: it's as fast as something costing twice as much and the screen (to my ageing eyes anyway) is plenty sharp enough. I do not regret it. A lovely phone. My wife will buy one soon, and she's the sensible one.

Having owned the 1st gen SE for five years the battery was shot and I was contemplating replacing it for a while, but I'm glad I waited for the 3rd gen SE to come out - with the same A15 chip as the current flagship iPhone 13, and even the upcoming iPhone 14, it has performance to spare and is future proofed as far as any phone can be. Apps launch instantly, mobile 4g and 5g speeds match wifi performance (depending on the signal of course). I find battery life to be excellent - after a full day of use (for me that's at least 3 hours screen time using web, navigation, email, texting, photos/video, a few 10 min calls) I often still have 60% battery left the next morning. Whilst the LCD screen is small and unfashionable with its bezels, it is adequate for all my daily ... MoreHaving owned the 1st gen SE for five years the battery was shot and I was contemplating replacing it for a while, but I'm glad I waited for the 3rd gen SE to come out - with the same A15 chip as the current flagship iPhone 13, and even the upcoming iPhone 14, it has performance to spare and is future proofed as far as any phone can be. Whilst the LCD screen is small and unfashionable with its bezels, it is adequate for all my daily needs including email, etc. if you know you need a large screen for work or gaming, you're unlikely to be considering this phone anyway. For those who prefer a pocket sized phone, the screen is sharp and works well in all lighting conditions except direct bright sunlight where high contrast text is legible, but subtle tones and details in photos are hard to see (I've yet to see a screen that works well in such conditions). It also retains the home button and Touch ID which I appreciate and prefer to Face ID, especially when using banking apps and Apple Pay. The main camera is adequate for most situations and has Apple's latest image processing so the quality of photos and video is high. The front camera is of a lower resolution so selfies are not to the same standard. John Lewis sell at the same price as other retailers, but include a 2 year warranty which no one else does so represent excellent value for money.
I needed to upgrade from my old Iphone SE 1st generation due to it being about to become unsupported. I loved the small form factor of the 1st generation SE and there was nothing as small as that any more. I have very small hands, even for a woman so was not happy about getting anything bigger and some phones are much bigger. I was worried this might be too big and heavy. It's fine. I have to say I was a bit grumpy that it seemed unnecessarily wider and heavier, but I got used to it within a few days and now prefer it. I also like having the touch id still. It might not look as flash as the more expensive iphones but you get a lot for your money. It does the job. Screen is slightly smoother for scrolling. Initially I set it to automatic speakerphone as thought it ... MoreI needed to upgrade from my old Iphone SE 1st generation due to it being about to become unsupported. Initially I set it to automatic speakerphone as thought it was too bulky to use as a phone to your ear, but have even got used to that now. The only other "small" phone was the 12 or 13 mini. I would have preferred one of those for size but don't like OLED screens which give me headaches. The SE 3rd generation is a good phone for all in my opinion. Now if they'd just made it half a centimetre less wide. But lets face it we use our phones more like tablets really and not so much for phone calls as other things and for that it's perfect. Does calls as well.

By today's standards this is old, but old doesn't necessarily mean bad as the SE is lightweight, comfortable to use and easy to carry on your person. The Camera The camera lenses/sensors are the same as the previous SE from 2020. There is a 12 megapixel lens on the back and a 7 megapixel lens on the front. However, although these are the same as the previous model the images this phone takes are fantastic, thanks (in part) to the SE's new image processing. For more information see my video review. The Performance! The new SE includes the latest A15 Bionic chip, the most powerful smartphone chip in the world. The Battery The battery should comfortably last over a day with medium use thanks to the larger battery and power efficiency of the A15 Bionic chip. 5G 5G is another big plus for this phone, but it's only useful if: a) You are in a 5G enabled area b) Have a good data (SIM) plan For the price the iPhone SE (2022) this is the most powerful phone you can get, a phone which will last many years to come.
For someone who uses all aspects of an iPhone without obsessing over advanced camera settings/quality, this would seem to be the best iPhone option. Has 5G although that is beyond the scope of my mobile contract so I cannot comment on that, but this phone should hopefully last for a fair few years (6-8 depending upon technological advances). Convenient size for trouser pockets and retains the home button for those who have not yet made the transition to facial recognition and who still are comforted by being able to press something. For those familiar with the 6S or 8, navigation will be very familiar. JL will also set up/transfer data should you wish as did one of my parents who bought one on my recommendation (to replace a 5). Would recommend as much memory as ... MoreFor someone who uses all aspects of an iPhone without obsessing over advanced camera settings/quality, this would seem to be the best iPhone option. Have docked a star only because the iPhone 12 and later have reduced in price making them more competitive. No reductions here.

I ordered this phone because my wife bought me Airpods and an Apple Watch, and I switched from Motorola phones because of that. I wanted things to work seamlessly. Well, at first the SE was pretty good. I don't have a complaint about the performance. It generally does what I need a smartphone to do, browse, download apps, light gaming. The problems crept up less than a year in to daily use. The battery life started dropping precipitously. Now, at about 15 months old, it is unusable. Literally charge it over night, do some light browsing, and half an hour later it's at 70%. By noon, it's in the red with little to no use. The apple lightning port is terrible. I'm going back to android and USB-C. I've cleaned and cleaned the lightning port to no avail. This is an underpowered phone that might be okay for my mom who is 85 and hardly uses her phone. But for any modern user, this is not the answer.
iPhone SE 2022 Review I felt compelled to write this review after I had read so many other reviews before making this purchase. And I think this little powerhouse of a phone deserves it. I have just spent a year with the IPhone 13. But moved to this phone. The iPhone SE 2022 is quite literally punching above its weight. With the same A15 Bionic CPU that is found in Apple's flagship model (13 Pro), extended battery life, 5G network capabilities and the option of larger memory size. This mobile really stands up for itself. One thing I've read so much about from trusted reviews and other comments is the criticism of the form factor / screen size. For me, the size of this was one of the MAIN reasons to get this phone. I don't want a huge, heavy phone in my pocket. The 4.7" is in my opinion just perfect, and with the iPhone SE you hardly notice it at all. Its easy to hold and use and very light. It also uses Touch ID which I actually prefer than FaceID as it's quicker and more convenient. It was a shame to hear that this could be the last time Apple support this smaller size and are moving the next SE to a larger screen, another reason why I wanted to get this version before they do. This phone for me is perfect in every way, and if you are able to, I would go for the larger 256GB memory size to really future proof this device.
