I brought this in pink for my daughter a few years ago and she loved it. But to be honest for the same price you can go get an older version of a prepaid iPhone and have the calling feature. But she did not this while she had it. She was heartbroken when it was stolen. So I’d say they are good if you are looking to only use it for music but now a days our iPhones do everything.

A great multi task product with excellent sound and quality.

This is my first iPod product and it's a great little instrument! The sound quality is that of a expensive large sound system using just the ear buds that come along with it. It's great for multi tasking. It can do anything the iPhone can do other than make a call by a number keyboard and the camera option has been removed on some models to make it cheaper to own. Since cameras are on everything now it's really no need in it being on here. Skype is available and be used for a face to face conversation. It's easy to use but acquiring a book of instructions is something to consider if it's your first experience with it. It charges extremely fast by plugging into the computer. It's well made, though investing in an otterbox would be a good investment since the front is made of glass and can be broken easily with one drop to the floor. Apple could improve this feature with the use of gorilla glass. It's volume level can be turned up very high and it has enough power to push small speakers without any problem. If your hard of hearing (not deaf) this little thing can be turned up enough that hearing it shouldn't be a problem with the ear buds (if you don't use a hearing aid) or hooking it to a small speaker which is fairly inexpensive. I'm very satisfied with it. Adding and removing material through iTunes is a very simple process. If you'd like to have something to use for music, lectures, podcast etc without having to tie up your cell phone this is the product to get.Sound QualityThe sound quality of this Ipod is amazing!! It has the sound quality of music being played on a large expensive sound system. The ear buds are very clear and if played through ear-buds or through a small speakers it's very clear and crisp.PerformanceExcellent. Very fast with no lag so far. Since it holds files the simple act of defragging it every so often will keep it running like it was new. Nice large face so seeing the pages are easy. Charges up from near dead in a matter of 3 hours or less by charging from computer.DurabilityWell made but viewing screen is made of glass and very easy to break with one mishap. Investing in an otterbox (or another good case) would be a worth while investment. Very thin instrument which would be easy to slip out your hands. Protect your investment!Ease of UseIf you have other electronics it's fairly easy to figure out but if it's your first Ipod you might do well to invest in a manual (dummies for example) to help make things easier. Like most companies now they don't include any instructions other then a small business size card to give you a website you can visit. Having the old fashioned 'book style' instructions made it a lot easier if your away from home and need a quick answer without having to search the net. Easy to learn once you get the hang of things.DesignNice design. Attractive style. Very thin and if you have big hands you might find it difficult to keep in your hands. Otterbox will help. Easy to see and very colorful be it the ipod color itself or the icons on the screen. Expensive looking but not toy like.

Best iPod ever!

I got the 5th generation iPod touch as an early Christmas gift, and I am in love with it. I've had the 4th generation for over a year, and this latest release is a much needed improvement. The A5 processor is notably quicker than the A4, which makes the things you do every day much more efficient. This generation also has twice the amount of RAM as the last one, which also helps multitasking quite a bit. I absolutely adore the bigger 4-inch Retina Display, apps look stunning and there is more room for viewing things like photos, web, and email. The new 5mp rear camera is a huge improvement coming from the 4th generation, and the new FaceTime camera is much better as well. Photos from both cameras look amazing, video is crisp and clear. I personally don't see why everyone is complaining about Apple's map application, I like it. Granted, I don't use it for GPS or anything, but I like the way it looks and feels. Again, this is just my personal opinion. Overall, it's a great device, and I think it's worth the high cost. It looks good, feels good, works well. What more can you ask for, really?

HORRIBLE DO NOT BUY!

If I could give ZERO stars I would! Absolutely Horrible product! I bought two and one wouldn't even turn on. The other one wouldn't even stay charged for 30 minutes after being fully charged! I sent back but have yet to get a refund! I ended up getting brand new ones at my local Walmart store! Wish I would have done that instead of ordering online! As of right now I am out over 800! Since I had to buy two brand ones at the store Christmas Eve day before I wrapped them up. I hope I get my full refund for these two! That way I am not out all of this money!

Who needs 7 gen 5 is just great

It works great, battery life doesnt last that long but I didnt expect it to for its model but very happy with it. More convenient than having everything on my IPhone. Got my I pod my battery charger and Im good.

The little wrist band thing that attaches to the back looks a little goofy, feels a little weird, but you get used to it and it has prevented MANY accidents.

Not only is Apple's build quality superb in the segment but prices remain the same and is fairly reasonable. Although the iPod has been known for the mirror like finish I definitely prefer the aluminum better in terms of looks, feel, and durability.Hardware wise I can tell the difference in speed. Every app is smooth and opens quickly with no hesitations compared to my 4th gen most the time a lot often things become lagged and it becomes very annoying especially if you want to skip to a few tracks and it freezes for a second and soon after crash and return to the home menu. he 5th gen so far I have had no instances of it doing that. The camera on this is not the best but it is definitely comparable to most of the smartphones out there I like the fact that it now has a built in flash and auto focus for better quality pictures Although you can't compare pictures with my Nikon DSLR.The 4th gen iPod has a retina display but color saturation was off and images seemed average and when you compared it to an iPhone it doesn't even look like a retina display. On the 5th gen the screen is a huge improvement comparable to the iPhone 5 colors seem more vivid and video playback is definitely better with the wider screen, Also the 4 inch screen is a perfect size for a phone and a iPod its just too much to have a big screen such as the Galaxy S3 it makes it harder to hold in the hand. The reason I chose to get a separate iPod from my iPhone is that I prefer to have a separation of use in the car because it is my main music source and saving some memory on the phone is indeed a good thing also not having to use the phones battery is good also. Speaking of battery life the iPod does a fairly decent job in holding a charge I am able to use it the whole day and occasionally use it the next day as well.My main issue with this is that the iPod touch no longer has a ambient light sensor to adjust its brightness automatically and it is irritating especially if you use it in the dark and the screen is still the same brightness. It is just not the quality Apple use to be after Steve Jobs passed but I guess they had to keep in budget now that they added a better camera? I guess... The light sensor has been in the iPod touch ever since the 1st generation why would they take it out?Also the lighting cable although very useful being smaller and fits in either way has is no reason for it to be $20 just for the cable.. Apple installed a chip inside of the cable also so that only the new apple products will recognize it as OEM and will only work if it is a cable made by Apple, any other cables being manufactured as of now has fake chips inside that malfunction and may damage your device, Apple has strictly made the cable to be recognized by there devices kind of strange to be honest. Therefore all the reviews of knock off lightning cables you see anywhere being sold are bad and have reported problems of shorting and making noises.Otherwise my overall review about the iPod has been a positive experience it is just like the phone except the iPhone has a better processing power but that's a different review. I would totally recommend this to anyone looking or thinking about upgrading to the 5th gen iPod from previous generations. However I still bought an extra cable from Apple just in case one of mine ever breaks and its good to have it for the cars USB.
