I have had an old Apple iMac for many years and it had become very slow and too old to update with the latest software. I was reluctant to move over to a new one as I was not sure how easy it would be to set up and transfer all of my data. After much dithering I finally decided to take the plunge, only to then find that the 2023 model was out of stock. However, I was so glad it was, as the 2024 model came out soon after and I placed my order ready for the launch date, settling on the original silver colour. The delivery was seamless and soon after unpacking it I was set up and away. Although I knew my old one was slow, I think I had just got used to it taking ages to warm up and "join the party" - this one is outstanding - it is so quick and it linked to my wireless ... Although not the cheapest I feel this iMac provides very good value for money. If money is tight then by all means go for the M4 Mac mini, but personally after moving from an (Intel) iMac to a Mac mini due to the screen not being 'big enough', I missed many of the things on the iMac - the sound is amazing for the size of the speakers, and so nice to have lost the cable clutter.Although I had a decent 32 inch screen, actually this screen is fine; I did try connecting my 32 inch screen and it works fine with two displays, but of course this creates some cable clutter. I feel this model is the one to go for with the fingerprint sensor on the keyboard particularly being useful.I haven't used the CenterStage camera yet, but certainly video conferencing is far nicer ... The M4 is no doubt a great product, but the migration from an old Mac was not so easy. Actually it turned out to be easy, once I finally had help from a senior programmer at Apple, but to get a hold of one, turned out to be a lengthy process. That should be easier. I had a fabulous new computer but spent anxious 4 days before I got the help that I needed. The iStore would have helped, but trecking there with 2 iMacs and all the cabling that goes with it is very difficult at my age. Online help (audio or video) should be offered right at the point of purchase in my opinion. I felt let down. But all ok now. And this is something they can easily improve.

Purchased to replace a 10 year old model which was working perfectly but slow and no longer getting security updates. ( obsolete in Apple World) Improvement in speed, clarity and sound is amazing and better than expected. Slightly larger screen is noticeable. Transferring from old to new was simple and very quick using Migration Assistant.Advertised as being touch pad log in but this was not the case.Apple Maps update is swamped by numerous advertising websites mainly in USA so totally pointless.Required a multi adaptor to connect scanner, disc player, tablet etc as only two usb C ports and no memory card slot.
This is my first time with a Mac and so far it's going well. It runs nice and smooth. Set up is so easy. Just one plug and you are good to go. The magic keyboard doesn't have the number pad on the right but I can adjust to not having it. There might be some other keyboards out there compatible with it that have the number keyboard but I haven't checked yet. All is good so far, Nothing bad to say about it. I like it better than Windows for sure.
It's been absolutely incredible. We initially purchased the M3 iMac a couple of months ago due to hiccups due to the shortage of memory. We waited 3 months for the new M4 ones, and it was certainly worth it. It's bleeding edge; it hasn't slowed down or throttled once. Performance aside, it's an amazing package. The 24-inch screen is flawless for our needs, with colors that pop and an amazing resolution. Not to mention the speakers, microphone, and updated webcam. Additionally, Apple has finally made the long-overdue change of Lightning to USB-C on the accessories, which is nice. Overall, it's a spectacular computer that honestly has become the centerpiece of our living room. (Did I mention this was proofreaded by Apple Intelligence?)
I have been using my 2018 MacBook Pro for several years and it was pretty sluggish in processing photos. And I realized that 90% of the time I was sitting at my desk at home doing my photo editing. So, why not a desktop? I was dong to get the M3 version, but would have had to add more memory, etc. And then the M4 came out. I love it and it is so much quicker than my Intel MacBook. I still have several external drives, but they work very well with the Thunderbolt 4 ports. And purchasing it through B&H was great. It arrived on Nov 18, the same day that Apple had it in stores.
I just picked this M4 iMac up yesterday to replace a 2013 iMac. This new machine is nice looking and seems to perform well but I am really disappointed that Best Buy does not offer iMacs more than 512 GB storage. I transferred the data from my old iMac to the new one and the new iMacs storage is almost already full, day 1! . I’m disappointed that I was not able to get at least 1 TB of storage ac at Best Buy. I can see myself either returning this new iMac or eventually trading up at Apple for new one with more storage.
Got this for my daughter and she loved it! She was thrilled about the color choice. Teal and purple are her favorite colors but we went with purple since her room color theme is teal. It was a littel pricey but these machines last, plus it was on SALE for the holidays to it was the perfect opportunity to pull the trigger and purchase. It will replace a MAC desktop from 2011. The keyboard and mouse are rechargable and require a USB-C cable for charging. One USB-C cable was provided with the package. The keyboard is purple and the mouse is purple on the bottom. Both the mouse and keyboard are connected to the desktop by bluetooth.
