Apple MacBook Air 13" 2013 i5 4GB 128GB Silver - Very Good - Pre-Owned
Up to 12 hours of battery life Work through the whole day on a single charge on the Macbook Air, which provides up to 12 hours of battery life. The huge battery life is due to a larger battery, thanks to the compact flash storage, and the new Intel Core processor architecture which is extremely power efficient. Once the Macbook Air has been asleep for more than 3 hours, it enters standby mode, conserving battery life for up to 30 days. Flash memory storage By using flash memory instead of the standard spinning hard drive found in most laptops and desktop PCs, the Macbook Air delivers an almost instantaneous boot when you open the display. It also launches applications much faster and performs very rapidly overall. Apple has also chosen to get rid of the enclosure that usually surrounds flash memory (about the same size as a standard hard drive) which makes the device much more compact. Revolutionary Thunderbolt technology Developed by Intel with collaboration from Apple, high-speed Thunderbolt technology delivers an impressive transfer speed of 10 gigabits per second in both directions. The Thunderbolt port built into the Macbook Air allows you to connect to Thunderbolt-compatible peripherals as well as USB and FireWire peripherals using simple adapters. Using Thunderbolt, you will be able to move data up to 20 times faster than with USB 2.0. Thunderbolt supports DisplayPort for use with high resolution displays and is compatible with existing adapters for HDMI, DVI and VGA displays.

My MacBook Pro was purchased NEW and this is an edit because I just noticed this was suppose to by “Used” in 2023. I had issues with it performing properly from the first log in. It kept freezing up, refused any downloads and would not download what I needed for work. I had it checked by Apple on multiple occasions. There’s really a lot of frustration to spend a lot of money for a new laptop and it doesn’t work. Then, about a month ago, my screen went completely black. It just died. What can be done about that? I was always told to buy Apple. They have good customer service and stand by their product. I find zero truth in this so far. An Apple employee through a phone call recently helped me. At least it’s no loner black screen. I still can not use most App’s.

My MacBook arrived next business day with Amazon Prime. Upon receiving, I examined it and there aren’t any noticeable defects, scratches or blemishes. I love it’s smooth and sleek design, this is my first MacBook! I’ve always had a Dell or some other laptop. As for its speed, I don’t have any complaints but I’m only using this for recreational purposes ie. playing Sims, browsing social media, and playing games like Scrabble, I haven’t even watched a YouTube video or Netflix yet. Once I decided I wanted a MacBook I agonized for months over buying a new or used one. My daughter has a MacBook Air 2014 version she purchased from Amazon back in 2020 that she’s still using, today. Before purchasing I read all the reviews fine print on buying refurbished on Amazon (the short battery life was mentioned in the product’s description and in the reviews of other buyers). So far, I’m not having any buyers remorse and I will update after a few months of use.

The Apple MacBook Air 13 is a high-end ultraportable laptop. It replaces the M2 Apple MacBook Air 13 (2022). This 2024 model is a minor upgrade over its predecessor. The changes include a faster M3 SoC, Wi-Fi 6E, and support for two external displays (with laptop closed). In addition to increased performance, the M3 chip brings a couple of new features, like hardware-accelerated ray tracing, Dynamic Caching, and AV1 decoding. The only change on the outside is the Midnight model's coating, which is more smudge-resistant. It still has a QHD+ Retina display, a haptic touchpad, a 1080p webcam, a fingerprint sensor, and a 53Wh battery. You can get up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB of storage; neither is user-replaceable. There are four colors: Space Gray, Silver, Starlight, and ... MoreThe Apple MacBook Air 13 is a high-end ultraportable laptop. It replaces the M2 Apple MacBook Air 13 (2022). My MacBook Air was pretty great! I loved that the laptop is so thin and lightweight. It was so easy to pack away for traveling. I did notice that once fully charged it last about 5.5 hours not the 7 that they claim. I do feel that the charger is kind of flimsy. It’s held my a magnet so if you move it around too much it is easy for the magnet to fall off. I do feel like the picture could be a bit more vibrant as well. As for the keyboard! It has always been a favorite of mine! I love the flatness if the keys. As it got older I had to use an external hard drive. It did start to slow down which made searching for things a little annoying. As of today, I can barely update it so that has been hard to deal with. Overall, the first 10 years were awesome! I will definitely ... MoreMy MacBook Air was pretty great! I loved that the laptop is so thin and lightweight. It was so easy to pack away for traveling. The perfect "everyday" laptop for most people With the M1 chip, this laptop can handle anything and the performance is mind blowing. Apple have really nailed the processor, it's even faster than my desktop PC (Intel i7-8700k). You never have to worry about too many tabs, watching multiple videos, or anything. This thing will handle it, no matter what. It doesn't even have a fan, so cooling is not an issue, even on the most demanding use with the CPU at 100%. The laptop barely gets warm, making it comfortable to use on your lap. Battery life is fantastic, it can easily last all day. This is the first laptop where I don't have to plug it in everyday.
Seriously it showed up with a penny in the SD slot. Just enough to grab it with a tweezers. Rest of the MB air looked clean. A few tiny scratches in the case. Works amazingly compared to my retired 2011 MB Pro. She was slow and tired. I immediately noticed the aftermarket charger and hated the short cord. Doesn’t have the extra cord piece like the original one. The product description only said comes with charger and data cord. Everything works exactly as I expect from MacBooks. The display hinges are a little looser than I would like. Screen does slide back a little at times. I can still say it was a good purchase for the price. Hey geek squad even threw in a penny on the deal. The pic with the penny sticking out was after I got it out far enough to realize what it ... MoreSeriously it showed up with a penny in the SD slot. Bought this item for my daughter for school. The laptop would shut off within 10 minutes of turning it on, every time. It eventually went to a black screen with a question mark on it, and there was no way to get off that screen. Walmart sold a 3 year protection plan they wouldn’t refund because we returned it on Dec 26 after buying it Nov 25 because it was 1 day after the 1 month period. But Walmart wasn’t open on Dec 25 so there was no way to bring it back that day. This second hand seller wouldn’t honor Walmarts warranty anyway. The second hand seller has a 90 day warranty. Now they are returning the laptop saying it was dropped and that’s why it went black screen, but nothing about the question mark or how to get it off, so I’m betting they never turned it on ... MoreBought this item for my daughter for school. This MacBook is a nice investment if you need one for the bare-bones programs and internet access. Personally, It does the basics of what I need it to for this season; I use it to write, study, and run programs like Microsoft Office for school. I also use it to take notes, surf the web, and also stream music. Additionally, it supports AirDrop so transferring files between the computer and my phone is much easier. An added bonus is that the Apple logo on the lid lights up.I will say this though: As this particular unit is now seven years old, there are some things that one might take into consideration when looking to make a purchase like this one. For one, the operating system is progressively being phased out, and there are certain apps and programs that will not run, (that is if you can get them to download). Please keep this in mind when purchasing an older model of any Apple product. Secondly, Since this is an older unit, the battery is also (I imagine) almost as old as the computer itself, so there may be some aging of the battery, where it may drain faster than it did when it was new. Depending on what it is you are looking for in a computer, this may affect your ultimate decision on making this purchase.Bottom line: It works for me, and quite frankly, I really like it.However, if you are looking for a MacBook that you can use for a few years WITH the capacity to access many popular Apps on the App Store, this computer is not for you. I would suggest making the investment of a newer MacBook Air, maybe a couple of years old or newer; Especially if you plan on holding on to it for a while. There are a number of factors to consider when making a purchase like this, so I would recommend taking inventory of what you are looking for in a computer right now, as well as where you might see yourself on the road ahead. Thanks for taking the time to read this review, and I hope that you find it helpful on your quest for a laptop.Blessings,D. W.
I've purchased Mac memory upgrades from OWC (macsales.com) before, but this was my first experience with buying a refurbished computer from them. I have to say I'm not disappointed. A friend needed an inexpensive laptop to use for writing, which would be compatible with her Mac Mini. We were happy to find that older MacBooks are so affordable, and work great. The battery life is also good (one reason I chose Excellent condition is that I'm hoping it's had less use, so less battery wear, than a Good condition Mac). I was told to stick with 2015 or earlier, in case a battery replacement was needed (they started gluing them in after that). But it looks like that won't be needed for a long time. Keep up the good work OWC!
