There are no fans at all which is so nice as I can remember back in the day you knew when there was going to be a big computer slow down when the fans would kick on loudly, The battery life is also crazy for how much power this device provides while easily lasting twice as along as a Dell laptop with a 11 gen Intel Core i7 processor with 16 gbs of RAM. The MacBook also is made a million times better than the Dell and the user experience is night and day.If you are looking to get a computer that will last you at least a good 5 years and want something small and light and quiet that also is powerful than there is not a better computer on the market than this one.

Where the base M2 choked before, the M3 with double RAM would also choke. Such as batch processing RAWs. It does run a bit more smoother.Battery life sees no improvement. It drains fast compared to M3 MacBook Pro, also it is worse than 15inch air. You think M3 at 3nanometer that has only 10% processing power gain over the 5nanometer M2 means the M3 would gain in other areas, like power efficiency, or better cooling, or much more AI power but that is not the case. The m3 has only 25% of the minimum AI power requirement for Microsoft Bing copilot to run natively. The Bing is based on GPT-4, so basically this laptop will br worthless for general AI in 2 years. Seems like only added feature is ray tracing that is worthless on this fan-less body style.Overall I’d say it’s about what I expected out of the M3 in M2 air body, based on press release and reviews. If price sensitive, save $500 and get base M2 air.

They are also crowded too close to the charger which cannot be used if an adapter is in the USB-C port next to it. I thought we were moving closer toward universality, but this laptop brought back a MagSafe charge cable unique only to itself (fail).- No option to turn off backlit keyboard. I liked this feature but now you have to go to some menu, click a submenu and awkwardly click and drag a round button a precise fraction of a millimeter to turn from dim to off and vice versa...not user friendly.- The operating system and system data uses 43 GB...on a brand new computer! Not to mention I still have 3 updates to install, I feel that Apple is going to make this model obsolete with their bloated updates sooner than customers would like. Get more storage if you are hopeful Apple will continue to support your computer past 5 years.

[Rewarded Review] Incredible Performance and Design!

I’ve been using the Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with the M3 chip for two months now, and it’s been nothing short of amazing. I opted for the 16GB memory and 512GB SSD version in Starlight, and it feels like a perfect balance of power, portability, and elegance. What I Loved:1. Performance: The M3 chip is blazing fast! Whether I’m multitasking with multiple apps like Safari, Photoshop, and Zoom or editing videos, everything runs seamlessly without a hitch. The efficiency of the chip is evident, and there’s no lag, even with resource-intensive tasks.2. Design: Starlight is stunning. It’s subtle yet classy, making the laptop stand out without being flashy. Battery Life: The battery life is fantastic. I can easily get through a full day of work and casual browsing on a single charge. Apple’s optimization with the M3 chip makes it incredibly efficient.4. Display and Speakers: The Retina display is crisp, vibrant, and a joy to work on. Whether streaming movies or working on presentations, the visuals are sharp. The speakers are surprisingly loud and clear for such a slim device.5. Silent Operation: There’s no fan, and the device stays cool, even during heavy workloads. What Could Be Better:1. Port Selection: Like many MacBook models, the port options are limited to USB-C. I had to invest in a dongle for connecting older peripherals and an external monitor.2. Price: While the performance justifies the cost, it’s undeniably pricey, especially with upgraded memory and storage. However, considering Apple’s build quality and longevity, it’s an investment I feel good about.Overall Experience:This MacBook Air has been a game-changer for both my personal and professional work. It’s incredibly user-friendly, lightning-fast, and beautifully designed. If you’re someone who values performance, aesthetics, and long-term reliability, this laptop is a fantastic choice.Would highly recommend it to students, professionals, or anyone in need of a lightweight yet powerful machine!

The M4 chip's integration of the CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine provides seamless multitasking and incredibly fast rendering times. Benchmarks show it outperforming its predecessors significantly, with some tests indicating up to a 50% increase in multi-core performance compared to the M3 model.**Display:**The Liquid Retina XDR display, now with an optional nano-texture coating, is nothing short of spectacular. Colors pop with vibrancy, blacks are deep, and the brightness is impressive, peaking at 1000 nits for SDR content. The nano-texture option reduces glare without compromising color accuracy, making it perfect for professionals working in bright environments. The high refresh rate of 120Hz ensures smooth scrolling and animations, enhancing the overall user experience.**Design and Build:**Apple continues its tradition of sleek, durable design. The MacBook Pro M4 maintains the iconic aluminum unibody, now available in the new Space Black finish alongside Silver. It feels premium, robust, and the added weight from previous models is justified by the thermal management needed for such powerful internals. The port selection has been slightly improved with an extra Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 port, bringing the total to three on the base model, catering well to professionals needing multiple peripherals.**Battery Life:**One of the standout features is the battery life. Apple's claim of up to 24 hours holds up in real-world usage, especially with lighter tasks like web browsing and office work. Even when pushing the system with intensive tasks, you can easily get through a full workday without reaching for a charger, which is remarkable for such a powerful machine.**Camera and Audio:**The inclusion of a 12MP Center Stage camera is a significant upgrade. Video calls have never been clearer, with the added feature of showing your desk or work if needed. The sound system, with its six-speaker setup, continues to impress with rich, room-filling audio suitable for both entertainment and professional use.**Software and AI:**The integration of Apple Intelligence features, optimized for the M4 chip, brings AI-assisted tasks like writing, summarizing, and photo editing right into the native macOS experience. While these features are still rolling out, the potential to enhance productivity is evident.**Conclusion:**The MacBook Pro with the M4 chip is a testament to how far Apple's silicon has come. It's not just an incremental update; it's a significant leap forward in performance, efficiency, and user experience. If you're in the market for a laptop that can handle professional workloads with ease,

The keyboard is flawless, and if you love music as much as me, having dedicated keys for music controls built into the keyboard, it is super convenient. The audio quality is superb; the 4 built in speakers and tweeters bring music to life with clarity unlike any laptop I’ve ever used. Battery life for a guy like me that casually browses the web, listens to music/watches videos, is beyond insane. I can literally go over a week on a single charge before even getting down to where I feel it needs to charge, and that would be between 10-20%, which will still give you hours of life. Yes it is an expensive laptop. Yes it does not have all of the bells and whistles of others, but honestly, it is just a very well built machine that is made of quality, is easy to use, and packed with what you actually want and need, not loaded with gimmicks. If this is the standard of all of Apple’s MacBooks, then I will be a lifetime customer. Get one, you will not be disappointed.

My advice is if you have a true pro level need for your work then get a Pro machine. For the vast majority of people the Air is amazing, For purposes, traveling with it is a breeze. Granted the screen is different from the Pro but it is not at all bad, if anything it is not as bright as I would like but not bad. If you are looking at the air models and you are not traveling extensively or it will be your only machine consider the 15", the speakers are better and the extra 2 inches of screen are great! If you are looking for a travel companion that is easy to pack and fairly light then the 13" is the right ... MoreI own a MacBook Pro 14 M3 Max as well for my business/work. There is a lot of talk on the 8GB versus 16GB. Since I have a business that requires 36+ on my Pro Max at home, having anything less than 16 on the go is really not good so I have the M3, 16GB 512. It runs great. If you can afford the extra $, get the 16GB, especially if you plan to keep the machine for more than a few years. It will be well worth it. Does 8GB run for simple things, of course, but if you use Chrome or start to open a large number of tabs and excel or powerpoint then 8GB will swap pretty fast and while it is fast it is not unnoticeable in some cases. For the color, to each their own but I owned the Midnight and it is beautiful but it is a fingerprint magnet. I have the new MBP Space Black and it is better at fingerprints as the new m3 midnight is supposed to be, but not immune to them. I prefer Starlight. It is not boring like silver but not flashy. Just perfect and it doesn't really show that many smudges.I highly recommend the Air it is a great machine for travel, students, and everyday use.

[Rewarded Review] Portable Powerhouse: M3 Mac Air
30 October 2024

The M3 Mac Air is a solid machine. I got it for my daughter but used it for about a week, mostly doing engineering work. The screen size wasn’t as limiting as I expected. There's a noticeable difference from my 16-inch M2, but the size and weight make it great for on-the-go use or working on your lap. Using Sidecar with a 13-inch M4 iPad enhances the experience more so than with the MacBook Pro—the similar sizes truly add magic to your workflow. I have nothing negative to say about this device. If you're looking for a machine that gets the job done, this is a great option. An Apple Silicon device is powerful, runs cool, and offers impressive battery life. If mobility is your thing, especially if you're upgrading from an Intel model, this is a solid choice. It's ... MoreThe M3 Mac Air is a solid machine. Check the specs based on your needs, but for basic tasks, it's fine.I ran a local dev environment (not using a cloud IDE) without hiccups. While I didn't try local gaming, I can confirm that GeForce Now provided a great experience—playing a AAA title on battery for an entire day is pretty awesome.

[Rewarded Review] Superb. Staggering Power for the Size and Price
11 December 2023

This probably the sixth or seventh Apple laptop I have owned, and easily the best. It is compact, rugged, and has shockingly good battery life. Coming from a previous generation Macbook Pro, the screen is greatly improved, the keyboard is greatly improved, and the dedicated charging port is a welcome addition. The Touch ID is handy, too! While this lacks the resolution of the current generation Macbook Pro, at this size this resolution feels perfectly adequate to me. I wish it had a dedicated HDMI port, but I am accustomed to using a dongle so it isn't much bother. All told, the slimmer size, lighter weight, and lower cost made me choose this over a new Macbook Pro– all features which add to better experience on the go. I do not use this as a desktop, so I wasn't too worried about trading some resolution and processor horsepower for portability and less investment. But– could I use this as a desktop? I am an After Effects artist, so my workflow is quite demanding. My current desktop is an 10-core Intel i9 10850k with 128gb of RAM. This is aging, to be sure, but still a very capable machine. Out of curiosity, I tried rendering a project that took my desktop 12 minutes to render, a piece with complex particle effects rendered at 4k. Results: 5 minutes 14 seconds. WUUUUUTTTTTT? This kind of speed out of a relatively inexpensive consumer laptop is absolutely staggering, and a testament to just how good Apple's M-series SOC products are. While the processor absolutely cuts the mustard there are limitations here to professional workflows. It is limited to two monitors and would consume both ports doing so. You'd need those monitors– not only for the real estate and resolution, but also because while this glossy display is a pleasure to look at for normal use, it does not provide terribly accurate color reproduction, and the glare is just awful, as with all Apple glossy displays. There is obviously no internal drive expansion options here, so you'd be married to externals for data-intensive workflows. So, maybe *I* can't quite get away with replacing my desktop with this machine, but chances are that you can.Overall I am blow away by the performance of this machine, and delighted by the form & finish. This is a fabulous laptop for the price. If you like small, light & cheap for real-world use, but are worried about the performance tradeoffs of this versus the Macbook Pro, stop fretting and just buy this. I am happy I did.
