A phenomenal example of seamless function and form, the M3 MacBook Air 15.3" has a brilliant display (the main reason I bought this) that is sharp, crisp and bright enough to be seen in open daylight.I've used AppleMac computers for well over twenty five years and this is the first time that I've opted for the MacBook Air instead of the MB Pro laptop- so far I have not been disappointed! The M3 processor in 15.3 MacBook Air is an 8 Core CPU (8x brains essentially) with a combined 10 Core GPU (10x more extra brains dedicated to just making the display work fast), coupled with the 16GB of Unified memory (the memory is shared directly between the CPU and GPU to allow faster overall processing), I ended up using my MBAir for some CAD work that was ran on a PC App ... MoreA phenomenal example of seamless function and form, the M3 MacBook Air 15.3" has a brilliant display (the main reason I bought this) that is sharp, crisp and bright enough to be seen in open daylight.I've used AppleMac computers for well over twenty five years and this is the first time that I've opted for the MacBook Air instead of the MB Pro laptop- so far I have not been disappointed! The M3 processor in 15.3 MacBook Air is an 8 Core CPU (8x brains essentially) with a combined 10 Core GPU (10x more extra brains dedicated to just making the display work fast), coupled with the 16GB of Unified memory (the memory is shared directly between the CPU and GPU to allow faster overall processing), I ended up using my MBAir for some CAD work that was ran on a PC App running on emulation software (Parallels) enabling Microsoft Windows 10 OS to run on a Mac, everything ran effortlessly allowing me to finish my urgent tasks. If I had to grumble about anything on this computer it would be in regards to Apple's habit of putting USB ports too close together and not supplying enough of them! There are only two USB-C ports on the MBAir and they're both on the same side! Why Apple?!Price wise this machine is great value for the money-not quite excellent in my book as I personally think that it should have come with a slightly larger SSD Hard Drive (maybe 1TB instead of 512GB Apple??), after all-this is meant to be the flagship model of the MBAir range.Start-up and logging in is as quick as pressing the touch sensitive power button, everything for work productivity (Apple's version of at least!) is already installed and migrating your iCloud data is as easy as pointing your phone camera at a QR code and taking a picture. It seems that Apple really have pulled out all the stops this time to make a MacBook Air model that is lightweight, ultra sleek looking (no more door wedge shape) and delivering thundering performance. An impressive piece of kit that will live up to your expectation of what personal computing really should be. If you want something reliable, fast and future proof... look no further than Apple's M3 MacBook Air 15.3

I am an Apple household and have 2MBP 14, 1 MBP 16 and have owned the Airs M3 in 15 and 13. I really do like the Air best but there are some downsides to consider between the Air and Pro. My true wish is a thin like Air with Pro power! If that is ever released I will be all over this type of machine. The Good: M3 is a beast (I recommend 16GB for future proofing, though 8 will work depending on your use case it can get clunky at times). Consider your use case carefully. The machine is very nicely built, thin and 13" is a great weight the 15" is a decent weight but it is quite big to carry around, not impossible but large.Screen: The 15" screen is very good but the Pros are far better. There is something about the 15" that is a bit off for me (I think the way the resolution is or screen rendering for retina) the way it comes standard is a smidge blurry for me. The 13 doesn't have this impact and the screens are supposed to be the same technology. The colors are OK (again Pro is far better) and it's not quite as bright as I like it to get. But they are fine overall. But I recommend you check both types out at a store.Weight/layout: Great! The 13 is amazing for portability! The 15 is great if it is your only machine the extra real estate is amazing. But again check out the rendering. I love the overall weight and thin ratio they are phenomenal in that regard. The lack of ports is a downer. Especially on the 15 where there is plenty of space.Overall: I highly recommend this machine for the right user. If you value thin and light this is for you. If you pro power you generally know it but the M3 is a phenomenal chip for almost all users. Consider 16GB for future proofing the machine as they are built quite well and should last years.

Pros:I love the screen size! Coming from 13”, the 15” screen is definite and noticeable upgrade in screen real estate. The midnight blue color is gorgeous. Seriously, gorgeous. It looks like a deep navy blue in most lighting, and like a dark hunter green in incandescent light. Under office lighting, it looks like a greeny-blue gunmetal color. The resolution of the retina screen is unmatched. No pixels here. IMO, this is 50% why you buy a mac.The keyboard feels good, if not slightly cramped, but I’m normally using the Ergo split desktop keyboard so this might be just me.The computer itself runs efficiently in every aspect. It’s fast, it has no problem with overheating, it handles multiple tasks or multiple tabs in your browser without issue.Cons:Last night ... MorePros:I love the screen size! It’s fast, it has no problem with overheating, it handles multiple tasks or multiple tabs in your browser without issue.Cons:Last night it refused to accept the correct login password for any of the user accounts becaues the accepted password was 1 character longer than the input box. Be careful with this. It’s a software problem rather than a hardware problem. I tried to shut it down and it flashed half a pink screen at me before doing so. Eventually, it let me in after several more restarts I don’t now why. I’m not sure if I need to exchange this exact computer or it was a one time issue. I changed the passwords to something shorter, but the pink screen flash is concerning.Midnight black is known for smudging and fingerprinting. So far, I’ve had zero issue. If it becomes a problem, I’ll exchange it for a different color. I wish they sold this model in the space black. The speakers are on the back of the lower half, near the hinge. This results in a sort of muddy sound that I don’t recommend if you’re listening to music. You’re better off connecting to a bluetooth speaker like the JBL portable speakers or something similar. It’s heavier than I expected and not featherlight like the 13” Macbook air M1.I hope that in future macs, they can make the notch at the top smaller and not as wide. You can see in the photo that it takes up quite a bit of space, and it’s going to take up space if you're in full screen watching a movie.Dimming the keyboard backlight is no longer available via the keyboard itself, and must be done with a mouse click under the control center on the upper right.Battery life is not as great as I expected. It’s down to 35% after ~10.5 hours of use. This sounds like a lot, but the hopeful part of me wishes for 3 days of usage out of one charge. It looks like the battery will need recharging from zero at around 12 hours of usage.Neutral:If screen real estate is your top priority and you have extra money, I’d spend $350 more to get the 16” pro M3 while on sale. The 15” Air is not a “travel” laptop. This thing is big, so much bigger than the 13”.2” is the size difference, but it feels like a lot more. I wouldn’t get this as a laptop to put in your backpack and walk around college with it.Ram and storage:I read recently that 16 gbs is the new benchmark for the minimum amount of ram anyone needs with upcoming technology. Since the ram is soldered to the logic board, you cannot upgrade it in the future. Get enough ram to future proof your laptop and ensure this will still be usable in up to 5 years. It’s doubtful 8 gbs will be sufficient if you want to do more than just web browsing on your computer. The storage size of the hard drive is less relevant if you plan to use an external drive and store your files there, connecting it to your computer with a cord. If you don’t plan to do that, 256 gbs is good for minimal to low moderate photo storage and few to no extra programs and software. Anything greater than these parameters means you should go with 500 gbs, again, to future proof your computer. You can’t upgrade the storage space later. One last positive:I like that I can place a setting where a finger tap anywhere on the trackpad = a click. Using just the designated space along the bottom of the trackpad to click with your thumb makes the click feel difficult and awkward to press.

I’d like to start off by saying the review rating is more a depiction of Apple than of Best Buy being a refurbished item. Best Buy did a great job with item, it looked literally fresh out of an unopened box, despite being a technically used item. Apple on the other hand, they continue to drive prices up with little to no improvement in model to model and generation to generation and at an increasing frequency. I have 16gb of ram and the m3 processor, I don’t use high level programs, I’m not a video editor or photo editor, no adobe, I don’t game, I’m a real estate agent. I open a lot of tabs, lots of word documents, very basic, but it’s more than the average which is why I upgraded. It took 1 week for it to tell me the ram was overloaded. Apple support says it seems to run just fine and I should have gotten 32 gb as an answer or opted for the pro and “maybe” that would have worked better. If this review was based on Best Buy, 5 out 5. Apple Product 1 out 5. I ended up returning the device. Was very disappointed in my the m3 and 16gb ability to handle the granted above average usage but inability to runs some tabs and word documents for as much as it costs and at a full price. SMH. Yes I clear my browser cache and cookies as well as my local desktop. I have an anti virus and cleaner on the computer as well. There’s 0 reason the computer shouldn’t be able to function to what I was expecting. Shame on Apple, the company I knew left with Steve
This is a great machine for overall use. It has far more power than needed for most everyday tasks and can even handle some Python development with no issues.I have not tried compiling any large projects, but I suspect it could hold its own against your higher-end Windows laptops. The Windows machine was even a 16" with an OLED screen (beautiful screen on that Samsung device). Still, easy to carry around.Power:The battery on this is great! I have not "tested" it, but I have used it away from power for several hours and it maintains the state of charge very well while sleeping. The charging "brick" seems a bit small, but since it sips power when doing basic tasks, I suspect that won't be an issue in the long run.Display:MacBooks have had great displays for years and this one is no exception, it looks great. Not much else to say other than I wish Apple would provide the same great display with a touchscreen as I think Samsung has been able to do this well.
First order from B&H. Five Star experience with them. Ordered over the phone because I had a question, great customer service start to finish. Easy on time arrival and delivery. Ordered from B&H because they were the only vendor to have the specific configuration I wanted available to ship immediately. They also gave me a small discount after I made a price match inquiry that didn't pan out. Arrived in two days, which was awesome! For the computer itself, 4.5 of 5 stars. I upgraded from a 2017 MacBook Pro that was running OK but falling apart at the keys. The 24GB ram is whip fast and 1TB storage gives plenty of space. My pet peeves are: 1) the default resolution has a black cutout at the top of the screen for the webcam; if you change the resolution you can eliminate that. 2) The login screen sometimes does not have the icon to turn the power off - it's a known bug and it's annoying. You sometimes have to log back in to shut down. 3) They got rid of they keyboard brightness keys and replaces with search and microphone. I found a script online to reprogram the keys to adjust brightness instead. 4) I find the screen brighter than my old laptop, which is ostensibly a good thing, but I'm having a hard time finding the right settings and my eyes are getting tired more easily and 5) I am also experimenting to find the right settings for contrast and text size to suit my visual accessibility needs. Otherwise works great. Easy set up - just migrated my files and settings over from my old laptop. Just needed to updated a few apps and browser plugins and it's been a virtually seamless switch over.
I bought my last MacBook in February '18 (MacBook Air - 13.3" - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 128GB Flash Storage) & it was much better than what I'd had at the time (early generation Acer touchscreen foldable laptop). My MacBook was good up until this point, but the M3 chip is *so* much faster than the Intel processor. I planned on getting the 14" MacBook Pro in Space Black (M3 Pro chip), but after seeing the 15" Air in the Midnight color in Best Buy's store, I liked the bigger screen and the color more. I ended up getting an open box deal (in excellent condition). The MagSafe charger is excellent, the battery life lasts forever, the screen is so big & clear, the charging block comes with an extra USB-C port, and the MacBook can also be charged using the regular USB-C ports on the side. So convenient! The only things I notice that are different between my 2018 MacBook Air and this model are: no keyboard brightness buttons in the top row of the keyboard (I had to add it to my control center), and the speakers aren't on the sides of the keyboard anymore (they're in the crevice where the top & bottom parts of the laptop meet which makes it sound hollowed out sometimes, but it's not a dealbreaker).Overall, I don't plan on upgrading again for at least another 5 years, and I expect it to hold up well as my last MacBook Air did. Definitely would recommend it!(pictured w/ a case on it)
After about 2 months of owning this I decided to write a review.I feel $1500 after tax is a bit steep for the product you’re receiving. I decided to go with the 15.3 version which has a bigger display screen and upgraded speakers. I gotta say the display is beautiful, the speakers sound loud and clear and I have no complaints; the only downsides being is the added weight and size making it less portable which isn’t an issue I personally have with it but others may.I bought this for college and it runs all my programs easily and smoothy however, if you have more heavy duty programs you may have technical difficulties but for basic programs and websites it works perfect. The webcam quality is perfect for zoom calls and looks great. I love the keyboard it’s comfortable and practical. The only cons with this product is honestly the price I feel I could’ve gotten similar results with a cheaper product. If you’re looking for a new computer and you currently don’t have one and have some money to spend I’d say go for it.
When I bought my MacBook, Best Buy staff were extremely helpful with the information and specs for the MacBook, and the leasing to buy process. I was also offered deals and promotions for my MacBook from the very start of checkout. I started leasing to own this MacBook Air M3 almost 2 months ago. This thing is the most incredible laptop I’ve used so far! Not to mention that it’s the first MacBook I’ve ever used. I’ve had HP’s, Dell’s, Chromebooks before, and they were nothing like the experience I’ve gotten with the MacBook I’m using today. The 512 gb version gives you a ton of storage to use for your files. The 16 gb of ram, arguably the norm for today’s laptops, runs smoothly, with perfect precision, and speed. I love this MacBook and all of its amazing features. ... MoreWhen I bought my MacBook, Best Buy staff were extremely helpful with the information and specs for the MacBook, and the leasing to buy process. The 16 gb of ram, arguably the norm for today’s laptops, runs smoothly, with perfect precision, and speed. I love this MacBook and all of its amazing features. I hope to be able to continue using MacBooks, as they’re so much easier for me to use for work and school than a windows laptop was. The only downside is the dark color of the Midnight MacBook Air. The fingerprints are evident on both the inside and outside of the MacBook, plus the keyboard keeps leaving an imprint of itself on my screen. The 35W charging brick that it came with was so slow, it took 4 hours to charge to full. I ended up buying a 96W charging brick that charged the MacBook Air to full in an hour and a half (Both times from about 5% battery left). It also lacks an HDMI port, which I had to buy a separate $35 HDMI to USB-C cable to connect my MacBook to one monitor at 4K resolution. The battery life also lasts pretty long compared to most other computers and laptops that are everyday use. I can’t say the same for gaming laptops, since they’re pretty much optimized to last longer than everyday use ones. Other than that, short answer is, I’m satisfied with the quality of my purchase! Need I say more?
The first time I went to Best Buy to get this laptop, they sold me a laptop with a bad battery. The box was all written over and looked damage and when I went to go take it back to Best Buy they gave me the hardest time to exchange the item that was given to me damage as a brand new item. It was a horrible experience. Multiple people didn’t know what they were doing. In fact one girl told me I could take it to the Apple Store and they would exchange it since it’s brand new and I took it to the Apple Store and they don’t exchange things you bought from Best Buy. They’ll take it and fix it and then give it back to you which the Apple guy said that’s not right because it’s supposed to be a brand new item you just bought and this expensive item it’s not cheap , I went ... MoreThe first time I went to Best Buy to get this laptop, they sold me a laptop with a bad battery. They’ll take it and fix it and then give it back to you which the Apple guy said that’s not right because it’s supposed to be a brand new item you just bought and this expensive item it’s not cheap , I went to Best Buy to where there were some in stock and they wouldn’t let me borrow a plug. They wouldn’t help me exchange anything. They had the worst customer service. They had me there over an hour trying to figure out how to do something myself kept giving me a hard time about exchanging it for no reason told me I had to make appointments with the geek squad because it was hard to erase the data because the laptop wouldn’t work without being corded and then it wouldn’t turn on sometimes because the battery was so bad , it was the worst laptop didn’t work so just beware when you buy these that they have a bad battery and you get bad customer service from Best Buy even at the other location wasn’t helpful complained and he just looked at me like that’s your problem not mine. I had to literally tell him pretend you just spent almost $2000 on a computer that doesn’t even work within the first 12 hours of you taking it home .
