I've not run any games or content creation software on it yet, so not really taxed the processor too much, but I can say it's absolutely not heated to the touch at any point.The model with the 512GB SSD runs a faster drive than the 256GB SSD model, but using both side by side, the difference in speed was barely noticeable to me.I would absolutely recommend this laptop if you want a pretty to look at, but very functional and capable device with a long lasting battery life.

The slim box design is the best Air design yet incorporating design features from the past which I always liked, and is generally a joy to use due to ergonomics and high quality screen. The FaceTime camera is much improved and essential for most apple users. It never seems any trouble to use anywhere just like a iPad. I literally leave it lying about the house. If you intend to use for your more intensive tasks like video editing, graphics or professional music production. Then the MacBook 14 or 16 may be be a better choice. But this is also subjective as it depends on the end user. I have previously purchased the Pro versions and have mostly felt like could have saved my money.

I am able to run many programs at a time with no noticeable slow downs. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this product. If you have the M1 macbook air or pro, I'd probably stick with that because the amount of upgrades on this model probably wouldn't justify switching from a macbook that is only a couple years old. If you have an older laptop or one that might not be supported with the most recent updates, I'd deifinitely consider the M2 Macbook Air.

Knowing I needed more horsepower than what I had traditionally purchase-a middle of the road graphic design setup-I sprung for a top-of-the-line M1 Max build with a 13 screen. I also have a larger, 16 model as a work-issued computer, and I have to say I don't notice an exponential difference with the larger display. I usually keep my laptop plugged into an external monitor at home but like the portability a laptop offers when needed. Even if you just use the screen of the laptop as your main display, I would still recommend saving a few bucks and going with the 13. However there are ways around the latter point, my 2011 MacBook Pro is currently running OSX Monterey, but that computer has been heavily upgraded to cope with that.Personally I am very pleased with my purchase and love using the computer. I need to travel soon, and it is so light and compact, it is the perfect companion. However I will probably be here buying another in 4-5 years time when Apple try to make it obsolete.
