I had an 11 inch ipad pro (2020) model for over a year and quickly regretted not getting the larger 12.9 inch size. When the new one came out in late 2021, I knew I wanted it and wanted this keyboard case. I loved the iPad pro 11 inch, but I hated the typing mechanism on the iPad itself. I found myself feeling restricted in how I could use it, but I loved the touchscreen interface. This keyboard was the first thing I purchased with my new iPad 12.9 inch pro I just got and gosh, I should have done this years ago. It's awesome! It's the perfect combination of typing, ease, and use. I do wish the outside of the case had more cushion, but all Apple products are well-made, so I feel this will be okay. When I go somewhere, I'll just take it on the go. The only thing I ... MoreI had an 11 inch ipad pro (2020) model for over a year and quickly regretted not getting the larger 12.9 inch size. When I go somewhere, I'll just take it on the go. The only thing I would say, it shtere needs to be a better system for having a place to store the pencil on the iPad itself. However, all other cases you buy that don't come with a keyboard (or do) for the iPad pro aren't anything close to what Apple offers with this. Can this replace a lapytop? No. There are still things my Macbook Air can do that this can't, but this is hands down the best way to use an iPad if you prefer to use it while responding to quick emails, browsing the web, interacting with apps, and more. The mouse hovers over the apps well and allows you to click on them like you would click on anything with a laptop, except because they are apps, the user experience feels way more high-tech than using your finger or just using a regular laptop. It's really hard to explain until you use this firsthand. This is the only way to use an iPad in my opinion, if you're an adult (kids wouldn't need this unless using for school, really), and if you like to use your iPad as an "in-between" device of a laptop and desktop for work like I do. Totally worth it! I have a smaller iPad mini that I'll use like a regular, on-the-go tablet, but for a Pro device, this is hands down amazing. Yes, Apple should make the iPad Pro more "pro-like" in its abilities to convert files and do other tasks like a regular laptop, but that has nothing to do with this keyboard. Totally awesome. Thank you, Apple and Verizon! I got the white color and love it. Wipes clean, easy to use, feels well-made and as if it will last. It's not cheap, no, but you won't regret buying this. Promise!

If you are in the market for a new iPad, this keyboard is an absolute must. I was initially skeptical about it at first because of the price, however, once I had the opportunity to see how well it worked with the iPad and the next-level features it unlocked, I was sold. And it’s been worth every penny. The keyboard is incredibly responsive and well-constructed. I have used for typing-intensive document creation and it performed exceedingly well, with excellent accuracy. The trackpad is another feature that I did not initially give that much attention to but want to highlight. I got this for my wife's birthday as a surprise for her. It was hard stomaching the cost of it, but I know that Apple makes good products. My wife has loved it so far. When you attach it to the iPad pro, it automatically syncs up with it, without having to go into any settings like Bluetooth. Like Apple says," it just works." She wishes that it had the function key row, but she's still okay with that. She feels that the keys type very similarly to Apple's laptop keyboards. For reference, she went from having a MacBook Pro to the iPad pro, for which this keyboard is made. An added bonus is the backlit functionality of the keyboard. In reference to the sturdiness and quality of it, closing down the whole setup on a desktop or table is just like shutting the lid on a MacBook. You'd think by way of gravity that it would just fall shut after a certain angle is passed but it doesn't. Very impressive. If you don't mind the cost and truly appreciate apples, attention paid to detail and quality, I would highly recommend this keyboard setup for the iPad Pro!

The Magic Keyboard for the 12.9 iPad Pro works as expected with the iPad. Keys type very well and the track pad is very responsive. Overall the keyboard case provides adequate protection mostly for the front & back of the iPad, but not much for the sides.Negatives are the weight and the lack of function buttons for simple things like volume and keyboard backlighting brightness which is unfortate. Trackpad is small, but functional. Having the extra USB-C port for charging is very handy. Not sure why there are cutout for the cameras as I would prefer to have had the protection for the camera lenses whuile in my bag. Pricey, but worth it if you write a lot like myself. Sadly no portrait position as some apps require it to function. I have had one for my 11 inch iPad ... MoreThe Magic Keyboard for the 12.9 iPad Pro works as expected with the iPad. I love this everything about this keyboard except for one thing. The buttons have a nice feeling, nice keyboard pop sound when typing, and the light up. The mouse pad gives a round cursor, and has gesture features that allow your o scroll and swipe through screens making navigating seamless without touching the screen. The iPad sits balanced making it comfortable to use on a airplane tray table, on a lap, or desk. The only thing I don’t like about this magic keyboard is the polymer material its made from feels cheap. Not sure is the 11inch is made the same way, but the 12.9 feels plasticky. I would be better is it were aluminum, considering it’s price tag. Although its feels like cheap plastic, its still a must have for this ipad. I recently purchased the Apple Magic Keyboard for my iPad and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations. The keyboard is sleek, compact and incredibly easy to use. The keys are well-spaced and have a comfortable feel to them. The backlit keys are an added bonus, as they make typing in low light environments a breeze. The keyboard is also incredibly responsive, which is great for touch typists like me. The build quality of the Apple Magic Keyboard is fantastic, as one would expect from Apple. It is made from high-quality materials and feels sturdy and durable in the hand. However, I believe that the quality and functionality of this keyboard almost justifies the cost. Overall, I would highly recommend the to anyone looking for a high-quality, versatile keyboard that is both functional and stylish. It has definitely made my work and personal life easier and more enjoyable.
The Magic Keyboard is easy to install and use, and it provides the closest feeling to a laptop experience. The strong magnets on the keyboard attracts the iPad and places it in the proper position. Once installed, you can immediately use the keyboard and trackpad. Now you can use a cursor to navigate your iPad and apps, and type with responsive keys that give that laptop feel. The only complaint really is with iPad OS, because it limits the iPad’s use to a glorified iPhone with extra features. Something like Finder would make the iPad into a more serious product, and rumors are that iPad OS 16 seeks to achieve that, but still a rumor for now. You can still do a lot with the magic keyboard and should be an excellent addition for the majority of people; typing emails and notes, and surfing the web for leisure or research, will always be much more comfortable and satisfying than just holding an iPad and having to swipe and tap on the large 12.9 screen. Lastly, I love it as a stand when I use my iPad as a second display with my MacBook Pro because the angles that can be set are comfortable enough to view the display for long hours, and the sturdiness of of the “hinge” ensures that angle is maintained. Since I work remotely, there are times I want to work outside, whether that be my yard or at a park, so being able to use the iPad as a portable second display makes work a fun experience. In short, this is the best way to get a laptop experience from your tablet, but just remember that you will still lack some capabilities of Mac OS. I would strongly recommend the Magic Keyboard for people look for a laptop experience with their iPad.
In all of the ways that it was specifically designed to do, it's fantastic. A great keyboard feel that is much more like a laptop than a lot of other folio products. The trackpad especially is great, though it is small compared to the later gen macbooks. It is large enough, however, to comfortably use the intuitive gestures. That being said, there are certain aspects that are annoying -- particularly because it feels like a 100% deliberate design decision to prevent iPad sales from cannibalizing their macbook lines. The magic keyboard with the iPad pro is so very close from being able to fully replace my laptop. 1. That being said, there are certain aspects that are annoying -- particularly because it feels like a 100% deliberate design decision to prevent iPad sales from cannibalizing their macbook lines. The magic keyboard with the iPad pro is so very close from being able to fully replace my laptop. 1. There is no escape key - things that seem somewhat natural to be able to escape out of on a computer just doesn't exist on the iPad. It's small but only really noticeable in some niche cases. 2. There is no function row - this may sound pedantic but this also means there's no shortcut or media keys. You can't change the keyboard backlight brightness without digging into the iPadOS settings several menus deep. You can't change the volume without using the iPad's physical buttons on the top of it, forcing you to move your hands away from the keyboard. All sorts of those features that are small but major quality-of-life improvements that exist on essentially every laptop on the market are missing. 3. Apple Pencil storage - this one is minor, but my last cases had a little slide out compartment or a magnetic flap that would help secure the apple pencil to the device when stored. With this keyboard, it's only attached to the iPad via the magnetic charging feature so if you slide your iPad into your bag, it's much more likely to be brushed off. Not really a big deal most of the time, however. I still rate it 5 stars as I have no regrets to it whatsoever. It would be really nice to have escape/function keys but again, this is designed to bring keyboard and trackpad functionality to your iPad -- not allow you to replace your laptop with an iPad. At the very least it's supposed to make you reconsider doing so. However, I have gone on a trip with just my iPad that I would have otherwise brought a laptop for. So will this replace your laptop 100%? No. Will it allow you to sometimes forego your laptop? Yes. Will it expand the ways that you're able to use your iPad? Yes. It is, in my opinion, one of the best keyboard cases for the iPad -- but it could have been so much more than that.
I have had several iPad Pro 12.9’s over the years and have always found someway or another to find a somewhat useable stand or clamshell. When Apple released the Magic Keyboard, I was super curious if it really lived up to all of the hype, Well it does, and more. If you have ever had an iPad in your lap, you find out fast how clumsy and awkward it is. Typing with one hand while holding it with another is not my idea of ease of use. I am not very keen on dictating as I still have to go back and fix all of the mistakes using the on screen keyboard or the one on the stand. By the way, the folding Apple iPad stand just falls over in your lap and is useless unless it is on a table. Enter the Magic Keyboard, It makes the iPad Pro 12.9 feel and act like a laptop. The adjustable viewing angle is great. Never seen before from Apple. The ease of removing the iPad Pro from the Magic Keyboard is as easy as it can get. Just pull it off. The magnets still have a very strong hold when eh the iPad is in place. It just snaps right into the Magic Keybaord. The trackpad, oh the trackpad. I love it. Makes me feel at home. The look is typical Apple. It just looks right. It feels just right, and it protects my iPad all at the same time. Did I forget anything. Oh yes! It has a USB-C port on the back hinge to the left for plugging in the charger and keeping the cable out of the way. Is there anything else, sure, but you have read enough and probably want to go, SO, here is my recommendation, GET ONE! I give it 5 stars.
I was even more hesitant to buy this keyboard than I was to buy the iPad Pro its self. I highly recommend spending the money if you have it. If you don’t i highly recommend saving your money to get it. To start off it feels like the keyboard unlocks features of the iPad you didn’t know exist. They keyboard is MacBook quality in my opinion which alone would make it worth it. The keys are also backlit, this makes low light usage a non existent problem. On top of that the track pad is smooth, its a bit small but definitely serviceable, it supports gestures available to the MacBook series which provides a far superior level of control for the iPad. We haven’t even gotten to the part that makes the keyboard magic, the magnetic stand. The iPad levitates above keyboard and has a few points of adjustment. It’s really handy if you’re just laying in bed and want to watch some YouTube before knocking out. The only issue i have with the keyboard is the textured finish. It is very prone to picking up smudges and dust, the black finish accentuates this making it an annoying eye soar. Nothing an aftermarket skin can’t fix though.
