I purchased this pencil for my 3rd Generation iPad 12.9 as mainly a pointing device to navigate through my textbook readings, but found it to be very useful in every other application that I frequent as well. I would recommend this pencil for anyone who could use its versatility. My son tested the pencil on his graphic art applications and gave us a strong thumbs up. The only noticeable difference between my pencil and his Apple Pencil, he remarked is The Price. My pencil was remarkably less in price. Its a quality find.

Love the 2nd generation Apple Pencil. It is a much “tidier” version. You don’t have to worry about losing caps or damaging charging connection and there are no cords with this one. The shape of this Apple Pencil sits nicely in your hand. I haven’t noticed sny significant differences while using on the iPad. The best feature is it magnetically attached to side of your iPad for charging and storage.

I bought the pencil thinking I was going to regret it, but I don't. The body of the pencil is metal, which helps to add a nice, balanced weight to the pencil when writing. The battery life is really good; I've used this for 2 hours straight (without stopping to reconnect the pencil) and when I did, it only lost 20% battery. This may seem like a large loss, but the recharging time is quite fast so the loss is recuperated within a matter of 10-20 minutes. Overall, I'd recommend it for anyone who is looking to purchase it for consistent, long term use.

Ingenious but simple

After buying an Apple iPad 11Pro a few months ago I had read about these pens and although I was already using a basic stylis, this Apple iPen is something special, and I’m yet to fully utilise all it’s features. Each time my iPad grabs it for rest a charge % icon comes up on the screen and although it utilises the iPad batterie, it’s very quick and hardly bothers the iPad charge. Another great thing I like about it is it seems like you’re wringing with a normal pen or pencil, or even thick bright pastels, either way, the pen to screen has a very natural connection and the transmission from tip to screen is incredibly fast. Another handy feature is the double tap function. Once I had paired the pen I went to the main menus on the iPad where I could select what the “double tap” function would complete. For me it’s between writing and an eraser. Early days into my purchase but very happy for now.

KNOCK OFF APPLE PENCIL
11 October 2022

THIS IS NOT A REAL APPLE PENCIL. The pencil will come packed in a real apple box but it is a fake. In comparison to a real apple pencil this one is made of a cheap plastic. It does not act as an apple pencil it only acts as a stylus. The feel of the pencil is genuinely a knock off. DO NOT BUY. I REPEAT. DO NOT BUY.

Quick charge easy sync.
10 December 2022

Apple Pencil 2nd Gen is such and easy to use addition to your compatible apple products. The pencil is easy to sync and charge just by attaching it to the side of the iPad via the magnetic strip. When using the pencil the style of writing can change and the thickness depends on your pressure. Such a great idea for demonstrating answers or freehand drawing as it makes it so much easier.

Very good price for a very good Apple gen-2 Pencil
21 October 2021

Apple products are very reliable. Apple Pencil gen2 are very robust. It works very well on iPad Pro 11. The pen stores and charges on magnets on the side of the case, but theyre not indestructible. I knocked the pencil off and sat on it (Im am a large guy), and it cracked by the tip which broke the connection so I had to buy another. This was a used pencil but you wouldnt know it. Its like brand new! Im very happy to get one in such good condition and not having to pay full price.

Works just as youd imagine!

Starting off i purchased this from JB online. The original apple pencil i bought was received same day (which is amazing). However it did not work at all. It would connect to my ipad pro, it would charge, it showed up normally! It just didnt work. I tried it on my girlfriends ipad pro, i tried it on a few different friends ipad pro's. None could get it to work. I tried their pencils on mine, worked first try. SO... i went to my closest JB hifi store (Leichhardt, NSW) and explained the situation. The staff at the store were nothing short of amazing. The gentleman that served me was incredible. I suggested we try it some of the store ipad pro's and he did, and confirmed, yep it was busted. As expected, it worked PERFECTLY and first try. Getting back to it, the pencil really is great. If you do any type of art, drawing, photo editing, or even just underlining study material, it really is a a lot better than just using your finger. Is it expensive... yes. Is it worth it, in my opinion yes. I also would like to thank again the staff at the Leichhardt store for being so awesome exchanging and swapping out a faulty product for me.

Worth It
20 October 2022

I wasnt about to spend $129 on a 2nd gen Apple Pencil when I already spent $99 on the 1st gen one. Caution - the new iPad 6th gen mini ONLY works with the 2nd gen Pencil. So I figured Id try this. Its great - snaps right on to charge, has color indicators for battery life (none of the Apple Pencils do), and even better, takes screenshots by double clicking the top part. Really cool especially since the screenshot controls are close together on the mini 6 and kind of hard to maneuver. What it doesnt do, is the double shake/tap thing that the 2nd gen ApplePencil does to bring up the eraser, but, meh. The screenshot click thing is way more useful for me. Extremely good value for the money. I highly recommend. was okay for a bit then it broke
14 November 2021

I got the pencil Sept 25th and it was fully functional. I had to buy new nibs because there were bits marks with the one that it came with but I didnt have an issue with it. I was using it and it was great until Nov 11th the nib broke so I replaced it and it stopped writing. The pencil can still connect and the double tap function is operational but it cannot write. Comparing it to a newly brought pencil, the metal piece under the nib is a different metal than what Apple uses. I presume this is a result of it being repaired with 3rd party parts. Its unfortunate that its use didnt last. I think theres more longevity in buying it brand new.
