I didn't need another cable where I couldn't tell if it was simply a USB-C cable or a Thunderbolt.Clue: If it doesn't have the lightning bolt on the plug, you can bet it's only a USB-C cable. You can use a Thunderbolt 3 for USB-C but not vise versa. I've found that I can quickly know a cable is not Thunderbolt if I try to plug the computer to my Thunderbolt 4K display and it doesn't work.This cable is no longer than I needed. A perfect fit.

I am very happy and pleased with the performance of the monitor being able to work with both types of laptops that when I consulted the Apple Specialist, asking what I need to buy to keep a spare cable around. They let me know it is this Thunderbolt 3 cable that works for this situation. As long as there is a lighting bolt not he cable, it is a Thunderbolt 3. When I got it in the mail, I plugged it in to test, and wola! Works! I now have a spare in case the original one gives out. Its perfect!The USBC outlet on the HP laptop is 2.0, not even meant to work for anything but standard charging. Yet, the Thunderbolt 3 cable was able to transfer the data and let my monitor work with the laptop.

These cables of the official, fairly durable, Thunderbolt cables for Apple products. They work well, for what they are supposed to do. The price could be better, but we’re talking about Apple products here and most people know how that goes. Otherwise, would recommend for reliability and compatibility.

Overpriced, yes. Short, yes. But only cable I could find that actually supports thunderbolt data speeds. Have many anker/samsung/etc usbc cables that will fast "charge", but none that supported higher transfer speeds, have many that done fast charge nor have fast data speeds.
I bought this at $40 when I tried to use it with my I pad it would not charge it. I tried it on a couple of other things and nothing happened. So I thought maybe it was my I pad that was defective. I went and bought another charger and paid $8 for it and to my surprise it worked fine! So this charger was a expensive waste of money!
Used this cord to transfer data from my old iMac Pro to my new Macbook Air. It sped up the transfer of data tremendously over WiFi transfer. The Macbook Pro did not have a Thunderbolt port so I used an USB to USB C adaptor to connect the cable to the Macbook Pro. The length was just right for my set up. The cable seemed expensive though was consistent with apple certified products
Was exactly what I needed. This replaced the USB3 cable that came with my Elgato HD60S+. I utilize it with an M2 MacBook Air with OBS. The original cable would keep causing the video in my stream to freeze and I would have to reset. Since swapping to this cable I haven’t had a single issue.
I was unable to go to Best Buy to get my laptop a new charging cable. My husband told them exactly what I wanted and even took my old cord in so they would give him the same thing. He came home with this short cable. It was only about two to three feet long so I can't charge my computer easily with this cord. I don't know why they gave him this short thing but I am not happy with it. I had no choice though because I was unable to walk so I was stuck with this expensive short cord that I have to use an extension cord with. Not happy.
Got this for an external Thunderbolt drive because the cable that came with it kept disconnecting. This cable is thicker and stays connected firm.I tested the cable against a top quality Anker cable and realized the Anker was transferring many times slower than this Appel cable when connecting a camera to PC to transfer lots of photos.
I bought this thunderbolt 3 cable for the file migration/transfer from my old Macbook Pro 15 2017 to a new Macbook Pro 16 M1 2021. The cable provided a great speedup of file transfers during the migration process. Besides, this cable can also used for 1) power cable; 2) backup cable for iPad Pro with USB C connection; 2) backup and file transfer cable for future iPhone 15 with a USB-C connection. It is a great thunderbolt 3 cable to have. Recommended.
