Apple Wired Mouse
Like its namesake, the Mighty Mouse is distinguished by its precision in miniature format. With all its click-and-drag capabilities under the seamless enclosure, the Mighty Mouse not only looks incredibly good, but also works wirelessly. And then there is the ingenious Scrollball, the smallest mechanism of its kind ever used in an input device. No wonder she's considered a small miracle.

This is a wonderful old-school Apple mouse. I prefer to use a wired mouse, and the size and functionality of this mouse suits me well. However, the trackball on my old mouse would only work in one direction (kind of like losing reverse on your car). This is such an old model that I wasn't sure I'd be able to replace it but here it is, and it works perfectly. It's very light and comfortable to hold without tiring my mouse hand. The trackball is precise and only requires the lightest touch to work perfectly. So this is a matter of personal preference. Not everyone will love the size. Not everyone wants a trackball. But I do, and I'm very happy to have it back on my desk!

I really love the look and feel of this mouse. It has that Steve Jobs minimalistic design. Being able to scroll in any direction is great. Having the extra button near the bottom enables me to display the desktop instantly. Now for the bad. I bought this mouse to do some gaming. Using this mouse in Starcraft running on Mac OS 9.2 does work. I was able to use right clicking in the game which makes gameplay so much easier. One problem I experienced was glichy movement. If I move the mouse too fast on the track pad, the cursor just move a little in the opposite direction. This is completely unacceptable for gameplay. The funny thing is the mouse pad I use is a gray colored one with the text "Apple" on it. I'm pretty sure it is an offical Apple product. Plugging this into the keyboard helps but this may not be an option for everyone. The last problem I noticed was the buttons don't always register when you click them. Sometimes you have to lift all your fingers off the mouse, then click to make it recognize a right or left click. Overall I have to say I will avoid any mouse made by Apple in the future. This is the company that thought the hockey puck mouse was a good idea.

This is a great price for these mice, and I've bought six of them over the past two or three months -- hopefully a lifetime supply. But be aware that these are NOT "renewed" as claimed. NOTHING seems to have been done to them except sticking them in a plastic bag. Most of them have needed their surfaces cleaned, because they were anywhere from sticky to filthy. Half the time, the scroll button initially worked in only one direction -- the main weakness of this model. That said, a little care was enough to return all of them to full function. And at this price, I didn't mind doing that myself. (Hint: Clean the surface with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Also, turn the mouse over and roll the button over a piece of clean paper while pushing down -- this dislodges the dirt ... MoreThis is a great price for these mice, and I've bought six of them over the past two or three months -- hopefully a lifetime supply. I am very happy and grateful. That is great and I am very satisfied. Thank you very much! Best regards from Munich, see you next time, I will be happy to buy from you again! Markus
Having trained in Logic Pro/Pro X, I had decided to return to the Mac platform after a while using Pro Tools on Windows based workstations. CEX were offering Mac Pro 2013 models with different specifications and value for money. I decided to buy two; one for recording/tracking and the other for post production, with a UAD Apollo interface. I added an Apple wired keyboard and mouse to the order as I didn't want a mouse and keyboard that would need batteries changing or recharging. Both Mac Pros and the keyboard/mouse arrived in prompt fashion, all were in great condition. The mouse was fully working without the notchy feel the mouse ball often suffers from when contaminated with dirt. Retrogressing from an Apple wireless mouth to a wired mouse is not a good move. They work quite differently and if you are used to the wireless mouse moving back to a wired mouse is a pain. We only did so as an experiment as our current wireless mice have been giving us headaches by cutting in and out all the time. These are the battery powered older wireless versions, not the rechargeable ones. The old wired mouse uses different hard to programme and remember functions. Getting the right click to function is a pain. Still haven't managed it. So really a no-go and a waste of money. The only way forward seems to be to buy a new mouse or two and at AU$119 a pop it is a fair bit of pocket money, or you can buy a lot of cheese for that ... You live and learn.
I previously used a Magic Mouse (wireless) that simply didn't always hook up via blue tooth. I wanted something that was wired that had instant response and was compatible with Apple Mac computers. Further, the Magic Mouse didn't always respond to my finger movements (it often could not differentiate between right-click and left-click). This wired Mighty Mouse has instant response and has never failed to understand my right-click versus left-click. I hooked it into my mechanical keyboard (also wired), and now I have a great setup: instantly responsive. The mouse comes with a short cord, so it doesn't get tangled on my desk. And I don't have to worry about a battery running down at a critical moment. Works technically to move cursor on screen as expected. Looks fine for used object. BUT the cord is so short it is inconvenient to use. I can't access the microphone on these ZOOM calls because cord won't reach across the keyboard. I had to plug in the old cursor. This mouse has cord EIGHT INCHES SHORTER than the old mouse. Wish I had know before purchasing, because now I need to buy another with appropriate cord length.
It is indeed the "mighty mouse". It works surprisingly well. Albeit, it's a little sensitive. By that I mean, when using that little button of a scroll wheel, you get massive jumps. I haven't looked into perhaps adjusting that in the settings menu because I've sort of gotten used to it. Sort of. The one thing I wish though, is that the cable was just a little longer. Other than that, it works great for the price I paid for it at around $14 with free shipping
This mouse works perfectly and it got me out of a real fix. My old iMac crashed and after re-starting, it wouldn't recognize my bluetooth mouse. After hours of trying to figure out what to do I realized if I got a wired mouse, it would probably work. Thankfully, the mouse you sold me worked and indeed, allowed me to fix the problem, so THANKS for that Dan. BTW-item was properly packed and shipped fast. Stellar seller!
