Aquabuddy 5.5m Adjustable pool cover roller

The Aquabuddy 5.5m Adjustable pool cover roller matched well with our existing pool cover and is able to be used by one person to put the pool cover on the pool but is a two person task to remove (to hold the end without the handle down). The roller is overall good but is rather light weight and does not look sturdy. I am not sure how long it will last but good value for the purchase price.

Excellent products very easy to use

Very sturdy, easy to install, everything was thought of and simply explained in supplied instructions sheet. Together with Aquabuddy Pool Cover 500 Micron Sollar Blanket makes it a must have. The tree above drops lots of leaves but no more leaves in the pool and water is much warmer and crystal clear! I strongly recommend these products!

Good overall with clips issue

In general the roller looks and works good. Definitely great value for money. The only significant shortcoming is plastic clips which connects to pool blanket - they often unclick (open) loosing the blanket. Edit: increased the rating to 4 stars. I decided to ignore the manual which says for kidney shaped pool you should snap clips to middle of wide area. That makes clips holding folded (double) blanket and creates all these issues, including problem with rolling blanket back to pool. Just went with clipping it to side as you would do with square pool and all works great.

Good price but not as wide as advertised

I bought the aquabuddy because of the price and advertised width as my pool cover was 6.2m wide. It took a little while to assemble as the instructions we not as clear as they could be but everything was included. The aquabuddy turned out to be less than 6m wide but i thought it was better to fold cover in half before rolling it up as our pool is round in shape. Reducing the size of the aquabuddy makes it easier to handle. Having a pool cover works really well and the aquabuddy is needed to store it.

Good product, good value- recommended.

Surprisingly good quality! Good bit of gear, undoubtedly quite robust and durable. It takes a while to put together but good instructions. Width adjustable to fit just about any pool- we didn't need to use a couple of tubes for our narrow 3.5m wide) pool. Definitely recommend it. A lot cheaper than my local pool shop too. Photo shows it before straps and pool blanket fitted.

Good value and does the job well once assembled.

The product works great. Assembly wasn't too bad although they didn't pre drill about 8 of the holes on the inner sleeve which didn't have self tapper screws. It wasn't a drama as the outer sleeve was pre drilled so I knew where to drill the new holes. Other than that the product works great. It's so much quicker to remove and put the pool cover back on. So much better than struggling, even with 2 people. Now 1 person can do it alone quite easily.

Good value but not clear instructions

As others have mentioned, the product itself is fine. Is good value for money, but the installation instructions are horrendous. I've assembled 100's of furniture items in the past, but this has to have some of the most incomplete and inaccurate instructions, especially in relation to the centre rods and how to connect them. I followed the instructions as best as I could but still think it hasn't been assembled 100% correctly.

The roller works well and is cheap compared to the pool shops. There is one issue, they should have put more holes in the telescopic roller for the bolts. They included all the bolts and some holes for securing, but I had to drill and tap more holes to stop the roller from saging. I could have used self tapers if I had the right size. Would have given it 5 stars for price and quality if they had put all the holes through. The 450 micron pool cover was a good price too and was what I expected. The last one I bought was 400 micron and lasted 5 years before the bubbles started falling off into the pool, so hope this one lasts at least that long. Just wish they could do 12m and 13m lengths. Pool blanket roller

I have none to compare the quality with but it does the job and was cheaper than others. The end without wheels has no pivot on it so ideally you need 2 people if you need to move this roller or you may break that end. They all might do that, and if you just want to roll the cover in and out it is fine. A Slightly longer base would prevent the roller tipping over when running the cover out over the pool but pull it slowly and its fine. Two years on and its still looking good and working as expected
