Got my coat just in time for the first snow of the season! So far I have used it to shovel and snowshoe, cannot wait to take it on the slopes!I'm 5'2", typically a large and very busty (36G). I can be an XL depending on cut of the clothing. I worried that this jacket would be too tight once layered but it fits beautifully with a base layer and puffy underneath. I feared the pockets would sag low with how long the jacket is but they are high, comfy and large! The material is flexible and forgiving with bending, walking and getting off the ground.Favorite parts of the coat are the snow skirt (appropriate squeeze, no snow got up during my snow angels and falls) and the huge arm openings (gloves can fit easily though and not awkward / bulky when synched.)The zipper ... MoreGot my coat just in time for the first snow of the season! Light was visible through the underarm holes but that is a warm area anyway and didn't cause any chills. Under arm holes are much easier to zip. I wish it had a midsection synch of some sort. The color is gorgeous but too light, I feel I will stain it quite quickly. It also doesn't match with nearly any other product I own. I hoped the arms would be more burgundy but are more of a berry.

This jacket as been following my adventure for more than 5 years now. It is very great for skiing. The snow never comes inside because of its length. I love the under pit arms and hoods fits very well with an helmet on! I have been wearing it at the resort as much as in the backcountry and both activity have been great for this jacket.Cons: Since it is very ski specific, I find it a bit bulky to bring ice climbing or in my hiking trip in the summer. It is not ideal to wear it with a harness, it is kind of difficult to adjust everything (gear, harness, jacket, bibs etc.) so it fits nice and confortable. For hiking trip, it is a very long jacket so your butt is cover but you have carry this extra length of jacket.Size : Medium would fit better my body but the ... MoreThis jacket as been following my adventure for more than 5 years now. This jacket is great for any winter sport/activity.The goretex provides a breathable, waterproof and wind proof material allowing you to stay warm and comfortable during your activity. The colors are bright allowing visibility to others and they visually blend well together. The pockets are user friendly and easy to access. This jacket also has airflow zippers on the underarms allowing breathability during runs down the slopes. During freezing temperatures and high winds, this was the perfect jacket for the job.

swapped the Beta AR for Sentinel Jacket and I'm super happy about it. The jacket stands out for its functionalityand comfort. It's definitely an investment for a serious outdoor enthusiast seeking seeking a jacket for versatile outdoor activities. While the size runs small, and the price is quite steep, it’s comfort and durability during all weather conditions are totally worth it.The fit of the Sentinel Jacket is much smaller than my previous jackets. Being 160 cm tall and weighing around 60kg I usually wear S-M, but this time I went for XS and it was the right choice. I can even fit a cerium jacket underneath it and still feel comfortable. The hood and the skirt are excellent for skiing and ski touring as they connect to my sentinel pants. The only drawback ... Moreswapped the Beta AR for Sentinel Jacket and I'm super happy about it. Great purchase. Fits perfectly. Great quality.I was considering buying size large because it’s a shell jacket so need to allow space to wear layers and potentially insulated jacket bit went for Medium and so glad I did. I usually wear Medium and it’s big enough to wear many layers underneath and goes on the top of insulated snow pants perfectly. I read some reviews that it’s tight on a hip but for me it is perfect. I’m 5.10” and 150 pounds with pear shard body so pretty big bum (42 inches to be precise) and the jacket is pretty loose on my bottom. If you’re short, sleeves might be too long for you although for me sleves were perfect also.
First and foremost, this winter has been very warm and wet, and I have not used it in anything under 20 degrees. That being said, this jacket was phenomenal when it has been wet. This thing has kept me so dry, it’s pretty amazing, and I’ve gone snowboarding in some pretty warm and wet weather this year. The jacket fits really well also, it isn’t too tight so you have room to move around, which is helpful while snowboarding, but it also isn’t crazy baggy. There is a bunch of pockets, which really come in handy, and they don’t leak and keep your stuff dry. The color is very out there, but I’ve come to love it. This jacket is seriously awesome. It’s a phenomenal ski jacket.
I have been snowboarding head-to-toe in Arc'teryx for a couple of decades. I love the brand, the layering system, the durability. I have been wanting to buy this shell, but the colour options are terrible. I snowboard 60-100 days per year in Colorado, including in the backcountry, bowls, trees. It is very important to be visible on the mountain for safety reasons, so dark colours like the black and forest green offered here don't work. Additionally, the only bright colour option for women shouldn't be pink - we don't always want to be wearing pink. The pink design here also doesn't work well because the back has a white patch which is likely to get dirty when sitting on a chairlift. Does Arc'teryx do focus groups to inform designs? If so, I would volunteer.
I’ve been wearing Sentinel jackets for over 5 years for mainly backcountry splitboarding, but will also grab this for inbounds riding with some extra layers. The cut and length and comfortable; no fiddling. It fits just right. The fabric is soft even though it’s technical. I’ve never been able to rip the fabric, even when riding through trees or getting it too close to sharps. I’m usually a M or L in Arc’Teryx jackets and size up to a L in this because I have wider hips and like a little baggier look.
This is a nice jacket, well put together and seems comfortable when I tried it on. I have no doubt it would keep out wet snow. But I ended up returning it for a couple of reasons. The biggest one is that there is no external chest pocket. That's where I like to keep my phone and it was a deal-breaker for me. Not sure why this jacket doesn't have that when the Rush has two of them. The second reason was the colors. Liberate is the only color bright enough to be seen in the woods (I want to be visible) and for some reason they put a white section right where the coat will contact a dirty chairlift. Tools not jewels, but I don't want to be skiing for the next several years with a brown butt and lower back.
Overall, I really liked this jacket and wanted to keep it. It's a pretty loose/baggy fit, which I liked. Obviously, that will depend on what size you get. But overall it has what I would describe as a relaxed cut, which I liked. It's also quite long. I am fairly tall (5'8") and I would say it was *almost* too long, but I liked the added coverage. In terms of warmth, I would say it was only kind of warm. Warmer than a shell, obviously, but if you run cold and/or are looking for protection from really cold temps and wind when skiing, this might not cut it without a pretty warm mid layer underneath. If you run warm or are skiing on warmish / sunny days, it would probably be great. Anyhow, at the end of the day I returned it because it lacks an external chest pocket. I just can't understand a jacket at this price point not having this feature in this day and age. Maybe there's a reason for it I am not aware of? But I need/want quick access to my phone and an external chest pocket is really the only way to do that, in my opinion. If an external chest pocket were to be added some day, I would for sure consider re-purchasing this jacket for mild weather ski days.
