A very nice thermal paste with excellent thermal conductivity properties. Also suitable for overclocking the CPU with appropriate cooling. 8g vol. are easily enough for several applications.

This thermal paste helps to keep my new computer's cpu nice and cool. Make sure to use this paste with a good after-market cpu air or water cooler to unlock it's full potential. I found my 5600X was cooling very efficiently thanks to this paste. I recommend that you apply a pea-sized amount in the centre of the cpu and then push down the cpu cooler, tightening the screws, I originally spread it out using my finger but this got incredibly messy and later research suggested that this could cause air bubbles to form.

The Arctic MX-4 Thermal Paste is probably, or is, the best value thermal paste that you can get. After using the thermal paste, my average temperatures reduced by about 5 to 10 celesius, while it doesn't sound like much, it really does help a lot. The Arctic Thermal Paste is definitely worth it both because of its price but also because of its performance.

Best thermal paste with amazing results!!
29 March 2022

This stuff is AMAZING!!!! I have an AMD RX 5700XT graphics card that is notorious for running very hot. It would constantly reach temps of 105-110c while gaming and would cause games to crash at those temps. After doing some research and asking a few friends I was recommended to try replacing the thermal paste with this stuff. Boy am I glad I did!! It made a BIG DIFERENCE! I can now run my games at ultra high setting and the GPU temp will never get above 85c! I highly recommend this paste to anyone with overheating issues. It works great!

Cool & Quiet

The CPU/GPU fan in my ThinkPad was driving me nuts, making an incredibly irritating high-pitched whine as those tiny box fans often do when spinning at maximum RPM. My laptop didn't always do this, the fan speed gradually increased over some months until eventually running at full speed all the time; and the machine was running hotter than normal, even when not under load. CPU core temps were often in the high 50s, sometimes exceeding 60C, just idling. I used Speccy (Piriform.com) to recored before & after temperature measurements. It was obvious at that point there was a heat dissipation problem, and given that my machine is almost 8 years old, I figured the first place to check was the heatsink, for dried-out thermal paste. It was a somewhat delicate task disassembling my ThinkPad, keeping track of many tiny screws, connectors and what not, but the service manuals on Lenovo's website made my job easier. After removing the heatsink assembly, it was obvious that the thermal paste had degraded, and quite badly. This machine was slowly cooking itself to death. I used 99% alcohol to clean away the old paste from the CPU, GPU and a third ASIC coupled to the heatsink with a thermal pad. The fan and cooling fins were also clogged with fine layers of dust and debris, accumulating deep inside the fins. You really need to blow compressed air through each of the fins to clean all the gunk out of there. After everything was squeaky clean, I applied a bit of MX-4 to each of the chips, then put the heatsink back in place and reassembled everything. After turning ON the laptop I waited for the fan to come on... but the machine was quiet as a mouse. Initially, I thought I'd forgotten to reconnect the fan plug to mainboard when I put it all back together. I can't hear the fan at all now, but it is running, except at normal-whisper speed, almost silent. I checked the temps again: the machine now idles around around 40-42C, almost a 20 degree drop in temperature. So this MX-4 stuff did the trick. My laptop is cool and quiet again.

Non-conductive thermal paste

My current system is based on an Lynnfield chip; it is almost old enough to vote. :-) It has been running 24 / 7 for years. One upgrade path was to overclock it. That system used Arctic Silver and based on those results I like their products. Unless I am negatively surprised, and then I'll update this, I have nothing but high hopes for this product while overclocking my soon to be new CPU and GPU. Hence the selection of a non-conductive thermal paste. I guess a disclaimer of sorts is in order. If all I was doing was building a system without custom water cooling and overclocking I'd stick with Arctic Silver and be happy. Since frying parts because I am learning is not an option I upgraded to Arctic's non-conductive thermal paste. If you are not into overclocking CPUs and or GPUs with custom cooling consider a user friendly, non-conductive thermal paste anyway. Any excess that might squeeze out won't cause problems. I use a smear it evenly and thinly over the CPU and GPU method. If this is not your method of application, that is cool also. If you want to see how not to apply thermal paste you might want to check out Jayztwocents on you tube. Bottom line is apply this however you are comfortable.

Job Done, so think seriously about your thermals before spending hundreds on new parts unnecessarily. I used this also on my motherboards north and south bridge heat sinks. Incredible product, will not use any other now.

Great balance between viscosity and 'spreadability' and performance. Put this on AMD 3970x ran for 4 hours with heavy FEA computation all 32 cores ripping even ran two sims simultaneously to utilize all threads. With NH-U14S TR4-SP3 and dual fans, running 3.9GHz the processor never broke 70 degrees. Note: applied this using a razor blade to squeegee my paste on to ensure that i only apply the minimum layer needed, while guaranteeing full coverage. It's a no brainier, easy to apply, works great - outstanding performance.
