Ariana Grande God Is A Woman Eau De Parfum 50 ml

Ariana Grande continues to be my favorite celebrity perfumer. Despite the fact that I don't know if I entirely "get" the name of this fragrance, God is a Woman is a really nice, sweet perfume. It features notes of pear, ambrette, orris, Turkish rose, vanilla and sandalwood. It actually bears a slight resemblance to Ari's Cloud, but this is fruitier, and much less of a BR540 dupe. The pear note is very prominent and gives this scent most of it's sweetness ( I would have thought there were a few berries in there also, but none listed in the notes!). This could really be described as a pear fragrance overall. It's kind of like if you mixed JHAG's Pear Inc. with Cloud. It's a sweet, fruity, warm, musky, vanilla dream. God Is A Woman is really pleasant scent-wise. Someone actually decribed it on me a a "clean candy floss", and I have to agree with that description; it applies with a gorgeously authentic pear note, mild Marshmallow, and a unidentified berry. Fresh & watery juiciness, with a light touch of airy sweetness in the background. The sweetness quickly becomes a bit more intense as the vanilla note developes alongside the floral heart. The heart is very much like Ariana's earlier releases; watery & powdery at the same time, with only a whisper of rose being the only easily identifiable note. The long lasting opening notes are still stronger compared to the heart & base notes, making the blend seem quite linear.The Ariana Grande fragrances don't have good a good longevity or strong aura in general, but GIAW is easily the worst; I'd estimate that it'll need refreshing every two to three hours. For the first hour other people can pick up on it, but after that I can barely detect it let alone expect anyone else to. Such a shame about the quiet aura and poor longevity, as the fragrance is lovely thanks to the authentic-seeming pear & sweet/clean balance and I have recieved a few compliments when I've worn it. A shame that it vanishes so quickly; this is a fragrance to layer with a stronger perfume, not one I'd recommend wearing alone.

Blind purchase!

I bought this while it was half-price on beauty steals. The reviews were good, so I wanted to try.Love it. Its a warm scent. People called it sweet, but i dont think so. Its a little masculine but not like cologne. It reminds me a little of fresh pencil shavings and tobacco. I think its just wonderrful. Its the kind of scent that makes you want to smell it again. Its got that "i cant quite place what it is, but it reminds me of something." A pretty, artsy, familiar scent. Try it if you like unisex fragrances. Again: it is not a heavy mahogany type scent. No one will think youre wearing a mans cologne, but if a man wore it, it would be very fine.

Disappointing purchase...

I brought this on offer and I was so excited to use it! I had smelt this on one of those brochure like ads where you can smell the little smell tabs to give you a little teaser as to what the perfume will smell like - AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I didn't purchase it straight away because I was waiting for it to go on sale so when I saw £21.50 for a 50ml, I could not have been more pleased! I collected my parcel and I sprayed it when I got home, and it smelt great at first, until I couldn't smell it at all :/ - it smells very strongly of pears (which isn't horrible) at first but when it fizzles out, it is nice, but it doesn't last more than 10 minutes, you get the faintest scent on your top of just residue so it doesn't actually even smell of 'God is a Woman' anymore, ... MoreI brought this on offer and I was so excited to use it! This was a very disappointing experience for me. I adore this scent. It would be my signature. But I can't get over the fact that it doesn't last. I wanted to make this work but it doesn't. I think the smell lasts about 30 mins and it's completely gone. This isn't a case of going nose blind either. I've tested it on my hankerchief and kept smelling every once in a while and it was gone. I appreciate that it's vegan and cruelty free. But this is one of those things where it's not worth the effort if the product doesn't work. I gave it five stars based solely on how it smells. it's everything I look for in a perfume. SUPER sugary, a bit fruity and a tiny touch of floral. If they made a revision of this perfume, only with some staying power I would buy it by the gallon if I could. Like I said. I'm sad.

Good Everyday Perfume

The scent is so lovely. The ambrette and pear are very prominent. If I focus I can slightly smell the other notes. It's very fruity with a light musk that balances the sweetness of the pear very well. I see many people saying it does not last. I use it with the matching lotion or body oil which I also love and recommend. One thing I see people doing is dabbing or rubbing perfumes on their skin. Avoid doing that and let the spray dry down on your pulse points for a longer lasting scent. You can also spray some into some vaseline to create a more solid perfume. That can help the scent last longer. For the price point, I find it manageable. The scent first comes off as strong but not in an overpowering way. I was so happy when

I was so happy when I received my perfume as I'm a fan of AG perfumes. They are durable, smell amazing and get compliments everytime I use them. Now, to my surprise this one is an exception. The smell itself is delicate, sweet yet powdery. Don't last long at all! Literally smell dissappear within minutes of applying. I put it on different days, on my body and clothes and same thing happens. I even had my husband put it on him and his shirt and didn't last at all. I won't return it as the bottle is cute and the smells is not bad but I guess I'll use it at home only 🤷‍♀️.

Lovely, but confusing scent

I initially smelled this and did not like it at all. It smelled like artificial grape and cigarettes box!!! I had sprayed it on my wrist at the store. Then a few hours later, I smelled my wrist and it smelled so good!! I guess it just took a while to settle, or blend with my scent, idk but it smells so good to me now. Same thing happened with Cloud! I smelled a sample and I thought it was way too sweet, almost cloying. After a little, I fell in love with how Cloud smells. Call it an acquired taste, I dont know, but both smell super good and very fresh and feminine.

So many compliments

I love this scent! It smells extremely similar to Bibliotheque by Byredo, which is my all time favorite perfume - but it's a fraction of the price. I'm not the best at describing scents, but it's light and sweet and earthy but floral? Pretty sure there's a wood base note in there as well. Long lasting (though I like spritz a few times a day to refresh, but I have a bit of a perfume addiction lol) and great for any time but I use it as a daytime scent. It's one of my 2 current signature scents and I receive compliments every time I wear it. My friends always tell me I smell really good and two have asked me what it is so they can buy it. Not a fan of the packaging but i just take the bottle out of the ugly grey plastic part and it's fine.

You'll Learn What Pear Smells Like

Before this perfume, I could not confidently identify pear notes in a perfume. Due to God is a Woman, I absolutely can now. This perfume has one of the highest longevities on her line, and is at a good price point (for some reason it goes on sale more frequently than the rest and is usually 1.7 oz instead of 1oz for the same price). For Ariana, who typically sticks to gourmand scents, this perfume was a nice exception. This perfume has a strong fruity set of notes. As someone who has no experience in describing perfumes, it smells like a pear blended with the Green Apple Jolly Rancher. Love the scent, would buy again.
