Can really push air

Okay, so I bought this exact fan branded under another name just over 12 months ago and enjoyed having it all through last summer. I put it away for the winter and pulled it out again when this year's summer struck with a vengeance. It worked fine for a couple of days and then developed a screeching sound and came to a stop in the middle of the night with a burning smell. Long story short, I liked that that fan could push air at a high rate of knots and isn't too expensive to purchase so, I decided to buy another one for this summer. The new fan arrived quickly and has been put into use just in time for this summer season. One thing to note that some may find annoying is that when this fan is on high speed, it is very loud. I actually don't mind the sound as it sort of serves a 'white noise' at night when I am sleeping. Anyway, the sound level is the only reason that I didn't give this fan 5 stars. I use it inside however it might also make a great fan choice for a verandah or garage. If you want a fan that can shift copious amounts of air quickly than in my opinion this fan should be seriously considered.

Cheap piece of rubbish.

The unit arrived with a screw missing from mounting which would have necessitated removing the face from the fan. That would have been OK but for the triangle slotted screw amongst Phillips types. This meant I couldn't remove the cover, the fan was only half mounted and wouldn't swivel, and to top it off the attachable feet broke because of the pressure needed to clip them into place. I had a similar model Linda with far better design features and external mounting screws that were fully adjustable by hand. The pvc body was far more durable as well.

Definitely Recommend!

Happy with my purchase! Great fan. Even the lowest setting gives lots of air flow. The only downside for me is it’s loud, even on low. Can’t even hear my doorbell over it. Small price to pay for coolness though!

Full force - but LOUD
31 December 2021

This fan is powerful, and certainly pushes the air around - but it is loud! Bought for pushing ac air down a corridor to a bedroom at night, it does, but way too loud ... “whisper quite” mode is akin too a small helicopter, so no good for night times .... but perfect for those who want to relive the 90s Maxwell cassette ad experience! Personally I returned and bought the more expensive Tower fame with quite mode ;-)

Good wind
12 April 2022

Bought this for my indoor bike set up. Riding indoors gets very very hot. This fan works great with 3 settings. Great wind velocity and adjustable fan height. Carry handle at the top of the unit for easy cartage and placements. Good for large areas. The only down side is there is no remote control with this model.

Great fan. Definitely not "whisper quiet"
21 October 2020

As a fan this is fantastic. Good air. Nice and sturdy. Ticks all the general fan boxes.I chose this particular fan because it says "whisper quiet" in the description and I wanted it for my bedroom while sleeping. It is definitely not whisper quiet. On the lowest setting it still sounds like you're on an aeroplane taking off.Great fan, misleading description for my purpose.

Noisy fan.
1 January 2023

Very, very noisy. Perhaps OK for industrial purposes and totally unsuited to domestic use as it sounds like a jet taking off even on the lowest setting. Worst still, doesnt move that much air unless you are right next to it. You could not POSSIBLY sleep with one of these in the room either.

Powerful but too noisy for bedroom
10 September 2021

I’ve done some tests on this fan to compare to others.Main problem is noise. On low setting, it measures at 60 db at 1 metre to the side of it out of airstream. On high, it’s at 69-70 dB.Normal pedestal fan is about 48 dB on high under same conditions. Since the decibel scale is logarithmic, it means that this fan is 4 times louder than than a simple pedestal fan on high. This fan also draws 85 watts on low and 100 watts on high. Medium setting I didn’t measure. That’s about 1 kWH for a night, which is about 40c nowadays.Normal pedestal fan uses about 30-40 watts on high, giving about a 12-15c night per fan.I will do some airflow measurements tomorrow, but a general feeling is that this fan makes slightly more airflow but a lot more noise than a simple ... MoreI’ve done some tests on this fan to compare to others.Main problem is noise. smaller blade makes it better
30 October 2022

if you put a smaller blade on it, it's more focused and quieter, 1/3 the sound and can make curtians move at 10 estimated metres, to make the front guard fit with modification add about 5 washers also with a smaller blade it just maxes rpm so probably saves power. ill attach a picture

worst of both worlds
22 November 2022

when you buy a large high velocity fan, you expect significant noise. I went for this fan instead of the metal one in the hope that it wouldn't rattle as bad... which it doesn't, however it does sound like a planes prop. which would be fine if the amount of air being moved was proportionate. unfortunately, it isn't. on the highest setting you can't have a conversation near it, and anything less than that doesn't seem to have any effect unless you're standing right infront of it. wen't back to the metal version that I bought this to replace.
